They need to make a version of the fire stick will it be easier for you to put the batteries in with the back or just come open cuz that looked a little difficult.
I have a few question: 1- I saw that it came with a poweplug in the start of the video, is it to charge the usb to be able to watch stuff? 2-does the uk version have apple tv 3- is the remore bluetooth? 4- do i have to buy the alexa amazin echo thing to be able to use this? Or is voice command already integrated into the remote control. 5- does this have a search feature or a typing option for if I dont want to use the voice command feature? Thankyou for the video im looking to buy one plz help me out haha
1. The Fire TV Stick has a micro USB port for power. The cord that comes with it is similar to a phone charger except the Fire TV Stick doesn't have a battery so you need to keep it plugged in to use it. 2. As far as I've read, the UK version has Apple TV+ capability. I have no way to test that. 3. The remote is bluetooth. 4. The remote has a microphone. You do have to press a button before giving it a command. If it always listened, it would likely drain the batteries very quickly. 5. You can enter things using the remote and an on screen keyboard. You can also connect a bluetooth keyboard if you want that option. I demonstrate that here: ruclips.net/video/N2Jy_A5PI6c/видео.html
Much of the content requires a subscription like Netflix, Hulu, etc... If you have Amazon Prime, you can access free content via it. There are also services free with ads like Crackle, IMDB, Vudu, etc... RUclips is free. Amazon Music is included with Amazon Prime. There are also free music services like Pandora.
I did some searching and the Fioptics app doesn't appear to be available for the Fire TV Stick. I did see it in the Google Play store. There are ways to "sideload" an Android phone app on to the Fire TV Stick. That doesn't always give the best experience though because often times the Fire TV remote doesn't work with the app. You have to connect a keyboard and/or mouse to run the app. I don't really have a way to test it with my setup. Do you have a device you currently use to watch Fioptics?
@@Rickmakes I haven't tried anything yet. I was trying to make it so my 93 yr old mother-in-law could give voice commands to turn channels on her TV which is Cincinnati Bell Fioptics because she is losing her site. I haven't purchased a firestick yet.
@@bettyowens1271 I see. I don't think the Fire TV Stick wouldn't be a good option for that. The voice control can be used to open apps but it usually doesn't have a lot of control within the apps. I'm guessing other systems will have similar limitations.
“Select services “. I’m overseas, so I ready don’t know... I would need to have an account with, say, Netflix before I could start watching anything on that service? Thnx
Available services can vary by country. I know some people will use VPN software to access services in other countries. I don't have any experience with that specifically. If you are interested you could Google something like "using a VPN with Fire TV Stick" or a variation of that.
It should work with any TV that has an HDMI input. It is possible the TV controls (on/off, volume, etc...) won't work on some TVs. You would then have to use the TV remote for those functions. They do have a cheaper version of the Fire TV stick that doesn't have TV controls. You can view it here: amzn.to/3bTTAyU
@@MB-yr2dz Can you find the app on the Amazon web site and install it from there? The should have a dropdown of your Amazon devices so you can choose one to install it on.
I appreciate the feedback. It is hard sometimes to tell what to leave in or take out. I mostly left it in in case someone was getting it for an elderly person. That being said, I haven't had trouble with it since. It opens easy now. I don't know what the deal was.
This video was great - & glad he showed remote - I couldn’t open either & watched - thankful got it opened but it is a difficult remote - I used a rubber jar opener pad to get it to move

I always seem to have trouble opening it the first time or two. Then it is super easy to open. Not sure why that is.
hubu...................hahahhhahhahahhaha
@RickMates - You have to push it in the same direction that the arrows go to remove the back from the remote.
I was pushing in the direction of the arrow but something was causing it to stick. It comes off really easy now.
I'm going to get mines this weekend so I can watch TV in the living room cuz I don't have cable in the living room

Easy-open for batteries...lol
Now it slides open super easy. I think it was just trying to embarrass me on camera.
Yes!! It took me too long. Lol
Dude really 2 min to show battery compartment? Skip crap , we are here to see how it works.

I’m tired of the fire stick losing WiFi connectivity.
If you can run a network cable to your Fire TV Stick, you might try their ethernet adapter: amzn.to/35mkiwD
