I believe that the picture quality is better if you use their wall adapter for the power supply. I found the picture quality to be a bit grainy when I plugged the USB cable into the USB port on the back of the TV.

I don't know if anyone else had a hard time getting the back off the remote but you may want to mention that if that's an issue take a gripper or a rubber or latex glove to use for more traction. It looked so easy here but I had a devil of a time getting the thing to open. Using a gripper (like for opening a jar) did the trick. Great instructions, and perfect pace for those of us a little intimidated by technology.
Getting the back off remote was not easy and I ended up destroying the remote. Not good !
Ha ha ha, yeah not so funny... I couldn’t figure it out either, tried like for ten minutes until using ‘super human strength’! I guess the first time is the hardest. 🤙

I just upgraded to the firestick with voice and I am thankful for your video that showed me how simple it will be to switch out devices. I did buy mine from QVC so I will have to do a couple of extra steps as you showed, but knowing that, when it arrives sometime today, I will have no problem. Thanks for your guide. I didn't have to read any guidebook so that was great for me. Just set mine up. Got the 4k one.
Very easy to use and set up except for the 2 stage log in. At one point, because of the unreliable OTP, I got locked from requesting for 24hrs. I wasn't receiving the code. So I had to disable it and then it finished and worked fine. Will reactivate it later, after my lockout ends.
Linking to your android phone was easy but I found for me I had to update the firmware first. Picture is great and so far really happy with it. Alexa works well. I was never an assistant kind of person.

Great video. You mention it doesn't matter which HDMI port you use. Some TV's only have one HDMI port that supports full 4K and higher frame rates. I suggest they check their manual to see if that is the case and which port to use. My Vizio uses HDMI port 1. The other HDMI ports do lower frame rates which makes it look a bit different.

You never mentioned anything about Wi-Fi. Does Fire-Stick get it's connection to the outside world via Wi-Fi or is some type of connection in the Fire Stick itself?

Thank you for sending me on a search for my input modes. Once I found them I activated my HDMI port and bingo, Firestick came to life.
Plugging the USB power cable directly into the TV is only good if the USB outlet on the TV is always powered on. I wanted to use it, but stayed with the adapter and wall outlet instead. A trick I learned after struggling to open the battery cover on the remote, is to use a latex or rubber glove rather than bare skin.

Thanks so much. You may have posted this 2 years ago but I only JUST joined the Fire Stick party (after my beloved PS4 crapped out :( RIP). The only thing that DID mess me up a little (but you mentioned as a secondary choice) was using the wall outlet vs. the USB in the TV. It kept restarting constantly with the latter and would never let me get past the network connection phase. Once I moved to the outlet, I was in. Thanks again for the detail AND for getting right to the point.

I got this one but don’t have Alexa... I do however have a 4K tv... did I order the wrong one??
No. You just won't be able to use the microphone to have Alexa search if you don't have Alexa. But you can still search. Also, for others - I don't have a 4K TV and this remote will still work
its hard for me bexause I'm trying to put my wifi on it and I put my password for it and it says that could not contact Amazon.com
