I just upgraded to the firestick with voice and I am thankful for your video that showed me how simple it will be to switch out devices. I did buy mine from QVC so I will have to do a couple of extra steps as you showed, but knowing that, when it arrives sometime today, I will have no problem. I believe that the picture quality is better if you use their wall adapter for the power supply. I found the picture quality to be a bit grainy when I plugged the USB cable into the USB port on the back of the TV.

The LEDs in my big tv blew out on Xmas eve and I had to bring my little bedroom tv into the den.
Unplugging & replugging in the power cord helped too. 😜

Those were HDMI ports you are talking about putting the fire stick into not USB. also I definitely need the AC plug for one TV's USB was not enough power for it
You never mentioned anything about Wi-Fi. Does Fire-Stick get it's connection to the outside world via Wi-Fi or is some type of connection in the Fire Stick itself?

Plugging the USB power cable directly into the TV is only good if the USB outlet on the TV is always powered on. I wanted to use it, but stayed with the adapter and wall outlet instead. A trick I learned after struggling to open the battery cover on the remote, is to use a latex or rubber glove rather than bare skin.

Great video. You mention it doesn't matter which HDMI port you use. Some TV's only have one HDMI port that supports full 4K and higher frame rates. I suggest they check their manual to see if that is the case and which port to use. My Vizio uses HDMI port 1. The other HDMI ports do lower frame rates which makes it look a bit different.

I don't know if anyone else had a hard time getting the back off the remote but you may want to mention that if that's an issue take a gripper or a rubber or latex glove to use for more traction. It looked so easy here but I had a devil of a time getting the thing to open. Using a gripper (like for opening a jar) did the trick. Great instructions, and perfect pace for those of us a little intimidated by technology.
Getting the back off remote was not easy and I ended up destroying the remote. Not good !
Ha ha ha, yeah not so funny... I couldn’t figure it out either, tried like for ten minutes until using ‘super human strength’! I guess the first time is the hardest. 🤙

It was okay, till it needed a credit card, to get through the 6th step of 15. I guess to simplify, I'll reboot my account on my phone and comeback and continue.
I've been using the "Android" sticks and units forever, and it's almost plug and go! Hope this stick is swell, hate the sad remote. Not sure you can add a mini keyboard/mouse on this like you can on Android 🤨
Your clip is great, the fire stick is a 5/10 for now, compared to the ease I'm used too. Obviously it will increase, when I get into the thing ;-)
...This unit is tricky, but since I'm use to Android, it was easier. Got RUclips and Tubi fine and the internet. So, a climbing 7+... Oh, and you certainly can get a Bluetooth keyboard unit ;-)

Tip: you have to have an account with Amazon before it will work. Other then you will only have wires & a box hooked to the back of your tv that does not work.

No. You just won't be able to use the microphone to have Alexa search if you don't have Alexa. But you can still search. Also, for others - I don't have a 4K TV and this remote will still work

The teaching video was super. I am a 78 year old grandmom and even I could do it. One small probllem is that I cannot get the remote to let me choose a language which in my case is English. It flashes Chinese--Spanish and French and then repeats all three. What am I doing wrong? Ellie
