- Part 2 of the top things to do/see on Pitcairn Island videos. In this episode we see breadfruit trees, The Bounty cannon, the eco trail, Christians cave, Tedside (western alternative harbour), the highest point, the radio station, ship landing point and St Pauls Pool. Hope you enjoy it!
By far the best views of Pictairn I found. Thanks Brad. I've always had an interest in this island. Also nicely edited. Good work.
Glad you enjoyed it :) i hope to do more in the future!
Nice content. Any future plans on new vlogs?
Noticed no birds ?
oh no there are heaps of birds there! They are a bit hard to film on a gopro :)
I wanna visit the island.
Can people come and live there ?
Hope there is no corona
@Adi Donte hahaha
Hey Brad, do you still living there?
I love lonesome islands like Pitcairn or Tristan da Cunha and the living style you have there....
Best wishes...
Geetings from Germany
What a breathtaking tour by a great host! I'm watching and thinking "Is 60 too old to visit?" Maybe I can start working out and make it a goal. It would be the trip of a lifetime!
I ordered your island's soap and today it came in the mail (5 months later, as advised, lol) The inner wrapping was waxed paper! So cool. Nothing's wrapped in waxed paper anymore, lol, so really neat. I think I'll need to order some of the Queen's favorite honey next!
Nice that there are no snakes and walking barefoot is safe. Just my style.
Anyway, thank you so much for making these videos, Brad.
Awesome job!
Great video als always,
what would be really interesting, is to see how the people live, so like, what are the houses like.
Are they real houses or more like barracks, since there isn´t much winter down there?
And especially how they look on the inside?
What is possible in terms of electric appliances with the electric system there, so can you run a washer, toaster and a TV, or is it like "only 1 big electric thing at a time? "
Did you film anything that you and the person to whom the house belongs would be willing to share?
Thanks :) i didnt film people or houses out of respect for their privacy. I will ask to film more in depth next time i am there, which is hopefully soon!
I’ve really enjoyed your vlogs, too bad you seem to have given up on them. I wish you well.
Brad, great videos and amazing footage of the island. You know it quite well at this stage and I was just wondering if you have any opinion as to the burial places of some of the mutineers ,particularly the five killed on Massacre Day.
Do people think they were buried where they were killed and perhaps all records lost?
What about Christian Himself?
Did his wife ever state where he was? It seems she witnessed the murder.
Its a story I've been always interested in since, as a young boy ,my late father told me about it and the work done by the infamous Captain Bligh.
He did the most accurate survey of Dublin Bay,close to where we grew up, which allowed for better access for bigger sea traffic. Do people think the five were perhaps buried together at some point?
you haven't posted in years, is everything alright?
Omg your so cute !
Finding a Pitcairn Islander is like finding gold or any type of valuable in the middle of the Antarctica, it’s just so incredibly rare. It’d be such an honor to meet someone from Pitcairn Island. If anyone’s from here, let’s get to know each other
There are classrooms with larger populations. lol
I wouldn’t mind coming to stay here for a bit
wow! it's so good to see videos about this island, I was strolling Pitcairn thru google maps earlier and your favorite place of the island the ship landing point happens to be my favorite spot too when I was wandering thru maps.. 😄
I also want to visit there too but I think only to my wishful thinking, I really can't afford to do it 😅
but this video already gives people like me the satisfaction and contentment about our interest and fascination of Pitcairn.
so thank you so much for sharing your wonderful experiences in this beautiful island. ❤️😊
Thank you for watching :) ship landing point is truly beautiful. I'm sure you can make it there if you put your mind to it 😉
filipina ka po
@nard yes po
Jeez... Why dont they care about their things over there? If i were on an island, 100000 miles from nowhere, i would at least lube, wash and keep the ATV in a good condition. It looks like they dont give a bugger
🤣
So, what are you up to these days, Brad?
Brad, I've got few questions for you.
1. Is the fuel sufficient for all the islanders for 3 months? (As shipment arrives once in every 3 months) and if they receive fuel, is it a barrel each for each family or they share it?
2. Can the island accomodate more residents in the future? Like currently, there are 50ish residents on the island, so can it accomodate till max 150 ppl?
3. How far is Adamstown from Hill of Difficulty?
Yes the fuel is sufficient. It is different for all of the families but its generally a barrel each.
Im sure the island could accomodate more. In the past the population was up to 200 but that was too many. I would say around 80 could be sustainable.
Adamstown pretty much starts at the top of the hill of difficulty :)
@@bradbrown3447 I see. Thanks a ton for your reply, Brad.
I’m so surprised that no one has made a runway or airport there. It beats that long ship ride. Peace from Gary
Do you not see how small and rugged the island is?
The quad bike looks very rusted. Glad that it's still functioning smooth.
I think a lot of that was mud.
What a fascinating part of the world. I’m amazed that a place like this exists
Hello Brad, how's the pizza on pitcairn?
Hi Brad. Great videos. A lot of people would visit the ILAND but its to far away. I live in Arizona USA. In one hour i can drive out in the desert. It’s very remote here too. Peace. Gary
A1 thank you Brad for doing videos of my requests. I’ve watched all your videos about Pitcairn at least twice.
Thank you for watching :)
Same here amazing shots
How many tourist go to the island every year?
Pre covid the ship could take 12 passengers approximately 12 times a year. 144 people although this includes islanders that may be returning. There were as many as 25 cruise ships visiting per year as well.
How do people get educated on Pitcairn 🇵🇳?
In New Zealand
Hola, perdona que te escriba en español, no se inglés. Me sabrías decir cuanto tiempo se queda el Silver Supporter una vez a llegado a Pitcairn antes de volver a marchar.
What happened to the website where the residents would post videos from Pitcairn? One video showed the impact of a hurricane a few years ago at Bounty Bay. Is this the Pitcairn Miscellany website? I see it's now available only by online subscription.
Hay Brad are you lives Pitcairn?
Let's say I wanted to visit or vacation here. Where would I stay? I don't think there is a hotel or anything like that here.... Bring a cot or something and sleep outside?
The most commkn place to stay is with one of the islanders. Most of them have spare rooms that are setup for tourists. Or there are a couple of houses that could be rented
Beautiful little paradise, they need to keep it as untouched by modernization as possible! What a historical place, I would love to visit.
Great video. I felt like i was there. Thank you.
my dream destination Pitcairn
Great videos!
Just wondering - Do you have to check out the geneology before dating anybody on Pitcairn, since you're all so closely related? (Seriously, not trying to be cheeky.)
Its a good thought! That is if you could find someone of a similar age! But the serious answer is that everyone knows everyones geneology so everyone knows who is family
I did not realise that Pitcairn Island is so beautiful. You gave a very good presentation. Well done
Brad I absolutely love your videos .... they are so real and well done .... I personally cannot wait to visit after 2022 now of course but your videos make me even more excited to do it than ever ..... thanks so much ....
Thanks :) i hope you make it there
Who finances Pitcairn Island, the British or New Zealand government? Thanks, Brad.
The British government. Pitcairn is a British Overseas Territory :)
Hey Brad, thanks for the video. Was interesting to watch. Have some questions: How many people live permanent on the island at the moment? How fast is the internet on the island? How much degree on the island in winter and summer? I saw an article that the island has a problem with plastic trash. Is that true?
Great vid Brad, you are lucky to live there, I have always waned to go to pitcairn island
I wish i lived there! I hope to visit frequently though
I would like to walk up the Hill of Difficulty but I'm sure I'd regret it afterwards. Anyway, I would need months to do everything and talk to everybody.
How do you get fresh water and store it? is there more than 1 source?
Just rain water stored in tanks on individual houses. There is also a desalination unit for drought times but that hasn't been needed yet
Great stuff Brad. These are exactly the type of videos I’ve been after. Cheers mate 🙌
Are they still planting sugarcane on the island? Is the old sugar mill still in operation?
Yes they are :) they have a sugar mill but I'm not sure if it's the old one
How’s brad brown now? Hope you are doing good!
Dear Brad! When the new movie about Pitkern island?
Working on it :)
Best video on Pitcairn I’ve found👍❤️🇬🇧
Thank you :)
I like your blog.. very interesting pitcairn wow
I'd love to visit this island!
How is Pitcairn coping during the Covid-19 pandemic? Are you missing the tourists?
I'm not on Pitcairn but from what I've heard they are doing ok for now. No tourists is a big loss but life still goes on!
@@bradbrown3447 I hope that soon you will visit Pitcairn, there is a bit of material to record :)
Thanks a lot for this. So I take it you have cousins, aunts or uncles that live there?
Yes, all of the above :)
Hi Brad,
Pitcairn it is so beautiful and clean air!
I want to move with my family!
Thanks Brad for all!
I can live there but it's too far away 😢
Minors aren’t allowed in the island for a particular reason so good luck getting your family there if you have children under the age of 15. They legally aren’t supposed to even step foot onto the land as it’s an isolated island with a large mal practiced male population
How big is the police force on the island and how much crime is there greetings from Kent England.
Police force is one officer. No crimes in recent years that I can think of. Perhaps the odd time they had to tell someone to slow down on the quads 😅😅
Thank you greetings from Kent uk.
Anyway to chat with anyone on the island? I'm a retired firefighter-paramedic, pretty well beat up and broken, waiting for my wife of over 43 years to pass on from Alzheimer's. I was born and raised mostly outside of the United States of America, dad's job being, um, "secret": think of the movie character Jason Bourne, only married, with children. And dear old mom was no slacker, also being an agent. Lol! Let me know. I don't know the internet situation.
Sorry to hear about your wife...it's not easy. BTW I read they have wifi
Most people I know of in times past used regular mail service! Collecting stamps from Pitcairn was a great thing for stamp collectors!
You should do a video where you include the name and photo of everybody on Pitcairn when you're there. At 40-50 people, it wouldn't be too hard to get a shot of everybody. Maybe include a brief mention of how they're related or what is their profession. Your own Pitcairn Census.
Hope u read this... thnk u for the video's. I have herd that i can move to the island and land. Do you know if the is true?
YEAH you can go on the British Goverment Side
I'd love to visit this Island, how the hell does one go about it?
Fabulous 😷 beautiful 😎 dangerous 🤕
You're an engaging host Brad! The views, the waves, the cat's, all the street signs lol.
The best tour so far please do more with the people
Do you live here?
Brad these videos are amazing. Thank you so much for showing us around your beautiful island. One day i hope to visit.
Where do the people make money for gas and food?
whats on the other island?
Wonderful Pitcairn Island!
Would be nicer than that quad doesn't have a tent - windshield - to see much more better while you driving around...
The Old Sea Wolf
Ah yes but the roof is very handy I the rain! 😂
It would be awesome to move and live on a island. I heard that the population is going in the wrong way for this place, Maybe the island need a nice Swedish man :)
Im sure the island would love to have you there :) get in touch!!
I know I will never get to visit Pitcairn, so I'm very grateful for these videos showing it from your perspective. Thanks for sharing these.
Make it a goal and it just might happen :)
Thanks for this great tour! Beautiful place! Question: there are no GS stations there obviously, how do they get fuel? I believe supplies come in only every 3 months a year. My info is appreciated. Happy 2024....
Thank you really enjoyed your video
Hi Brad, very beautiful Pitcairn island. I love your vlog. I hope you can vlog about other places in NZ. I noticed you stopped vlogging. I'm a Filipino, I hope you can visit Philippines and do vlogging too.
Awesome tour, thanks Brad.
Thanks for sharing as always. How many times have you been there in your life in total?
I have been there 3 times now. Hoping to make it many more :)
Are all the people who live on the island descendants of the bounty
Almost everyone there is a descendant. There are a few people who have moved there from other backgrounds though
@@bradbrown3447 I guess the Warrens are not direct descendants of the Bounty mutineer? Read somewhere that they're an American family who married into the mutineers' descendants. I hope I'm right?
@@prize5ighter I dont believe there was a Warren on the bounty. So the name has been married in yes
@@bradbrown3447 Yeah coz all I've read about the mutineers is McCoy (lineage ended around 19th century), Quintal, Adams, Christian (the most prominent), Brown & Young.
@@prize5ighter If I recall correctly, the Warrens settled on Pitcairn Island while the islanders were away in Norfolk. When they returned after a few years they found the Warren family there.
Has anybody made it in to Fletcher's Cave? and is or was there any evidence of him ever being in there?
Christians cave? Yup! I believe I go there in episode one of this video. I don't believe there is actual evidence of him being there. Unless one of the original mutineers recorded him being there. Would be interested to research that one!
@@bradbrown3447 one of the females on the island , Jenny (Teraura) passed down stories to the children and one was that he hid up in there for a while , supposedly retold by Rosalind Young. I always wonderd if he ever made any mark up there, wall writings or something. They say that Jenny knew what happend to him.
Where is the world is this island?? Near which continent??
East of French polynesia. In between New Zealand and Panama 😂
@@bradbrown3447 🤣
Just loved this video. Are you a decendant of William Brown?
Thanks :) William Brown never had children. The Brown name comes from a shipwreck on Oeno. The survivors lived on Pitcairn
@@bradbrown3447 This is what I can find on Oeno. "The first locally recorded shipwreck was that of the Wildwave when she was outward bound from San Francisco and struck the reef of Oeno Island in March 1858. Leaving thirty men on Oeno the captain and six others sailed one of the ship's boats to Pitcairn which they found to be uninhabited, the population having been removed to Norfolk Island two years earlier. " My question then is: Was Pitcairn abandoned 1858?
IMHO, fab job man.
I feel like I know the island far better than before (and I have read/watched a fair bit about it).
Say?
How are you doing?
How's life going back in New Zealand for ya?
No worries if you don't want to say.
Cheers.

Love from india
Wish you won't drive so fast...🙏. very interesting video and vlog...wow no snakes?! excellent place!!! love Pitcairn!
Hello brad, i am a swedish student making an assignment about pitcairn island i would love to ask you some question about the people living on pitcairn. Feel free to leave any of your contact information so that i could contact you if possible. Kind regards, Martin Stemme, Stockholm Sweden.
Is there a dentist on island?
No dentist on the island. Islanders have to go to Tahiti or New Zealand for dental work
@@bradbrown3447 thanks for your reply
Do you have to pay for flights to and from for any medical care? What is or who is the government?
Nice video well done 👍. Do you live on the island? Did not really grasp if you do. You do sound like a Kiwi. No offence of course. I am a Aussie, no offence of course lol . Cheers bloke.
Hi, I really like your channel! I'm from Brazil, I'm Brazilian! and the island of Pitcairn is very beautiful! Does your family live on the island?
Thanks Brad for introducing me tO the island. Hope some Day I. An come tO this island and enjoy the scenery and meet the 50 people here...and of course tO worshipon the Sabbath too. Gbu all
Thanks for the swimming warning at St. Pauls. The island looks like a stunning place to visit even if there were no historical significance.
Long time ago from last videos. Is everything ok with you man ☺️?
Corono free land ... Be happy brad
he is not there, videos are from last year
Wow very beautiful place n thanks for the cool vlog and please do more vlogs about the island and the community in the island 🏝️
Any new videos from Pitcairn coming up soon?
Thanks! I'm planning a trip next year and this was really useful.
fantastic life style mate. treasure this because you're a very very lucky man. Well done.
Unfortunately I do not live there... I treasured my 3 months on the island. And I will be going back for more!
@@bradbrown3447 I have been to New Zealand for a month. The most beautiful country I have ever been. In comparison to England New Zealand is heaven on earth.
Bradley brown, glad you survived the critter outbreak lol. Jokes a side great vids
I want to go! Absolutely breathtaking! Luv&Peace
Legal Tô country Brazil..
Good job my friend, please have a question and have a nice day
Do you live on the Island ?
No, unfortunately not. I was there from March - July 2019. I have a lot of family there
@@bradbrown3447 im from germany and i heard about the Island about 1 Month ago. Im fascinated of the Island. I love the fact that Pitcairn is soo Remote, i Think its a Paradise. I wanna visit pitcairn, and i thought of moving there when im older, but im not sure how much this will cost. I see on many sites you need to ship your items to the Island and build your own house. Do you have more Information about this ? Thanks for responding !
@@spray7546 there is obviously a bit of a cost to move there. However if you are serious about moving there (which includes visiting before moving) the government and islanders will do everything to help you move. I'm unsure of costs of shipping, however quite often the costs can be paid off over time. Building a house has been estimated to cost around $150,000 NZ dollars. This could be made cheaper by reducing size/using cheaper materials. And I think the government will loan the money to build it. Obviously if someone is serious about moving they will help every step of the way. I would suggest a visit first :)
@@bradbrown3447 Yes i will gonna visit first, but im only 17 years old rn so maybe it take something like 30 years, until i woud move there :D.
@@spray7546 Vielleicht sieht man sich in ein paar Jahren dort!;)
Someday I'll come from faraway Bulgaria!
Grow some sugar cane. Would grow great there.
How many days you stayed in pitcairn island ? Cost ?
Well done! Not a boring moment.
