Thank you! That's great to hear, I'm trying to make tutorials that bridge the gap from knowing how to use gear to actually making music you are happy with using gear. If you have any ideas, let me know! :)
@KaiBurley You are absolutely right. I think there is a huge gap between gear tutorials and music tutorials. That's where I've been totally lost in the past couple of months and even started losing motivation because of it. It would be great if you could do a couple more tutorials like this one with varying degrees of depth. Super simple songs (but still complete) but for complete Syntakt beginners, covering the use of the Syntakt more. And more complex songs with less focus on the usage of the Syntakt (with the assumption that the viewer knows some Syntakt from your previous videos). I would go even as far as saying that there is a huge niche market for "Make techno/house/edm-in-general on Syntakt only" considering how many units are sold worldwide and how popular this groovebox is. Maybe it's not always the first groovebox people buy (like I did) but I've been to enough forums and comment sections where needs similar to what I've described above are evident. But that might be too much - making a course is not easy I am justing describing the problem I have. If you could start (or rather continue) with making single RUclips videos that close this gap - it would be such great help for thousands of people! I hope you consider it 🙏cheers. P.s. sorry for the sloppy grammar. I am commuting right now
Just wanted to add that the current view count isn't representative of the "market" in my opinion.probably just YT algos haven't surfaced you yet because I found this video accidentally by searching for "Syntakt" and then scrolling through dozens of videos (most of which are either jams or gear tutorials)
@vitalypushkar5929 This is extraordinarily helpful and gives me a lot to think about! I am definitely planning on continuing to make this type of video. Your mention of specifically targeting different experience levels is great and gives me some ideas for future tutorials. And yeah, the algorithm is tricky but I feel like I am slowly beginning to understand how to package videos to take advantage of it. I really appreciate the feedback and encouragement! More to come!
What I struggle with, is when practicing and playing the filter for example. Next time I get back to the pattern, everything is where I left it last time. Instead of where it should start...
I agree, I haven't found a great solution to that yet either. I find myself saving and reloading the project strategically to reset a bunch of filter values, etc all at once
I have watched ALOT of videos and even bought courses on the Digitakt but this was the best walkthrough and simple breakdown I’ve seen of writing a full track and transitioning patterns. The workflow is deep on these boxes and it can be very headscratchy at times, even if you are super fluid in the box to create arrangements. This way is much more fun and direct but takes time to master. One question. I noticed mutes are green, are you using the master mutes in your performance, or are the local/pattern mutes just green and not purple like on the digitakt? It seemed you had several parts pre-muted across your patterns. Thanks for the video and keep it up :)
Thank you! I'm so glad you found it useful. My mutes are green because I am using the global mutes! Funny enough, I did not know about pattern mutes until your comment, I just looked into them and they seem very useful hahaha. I think sometimes my global mutes look like they change or are pre-muted because of the editing; sometimes I mess up while recording and redo a section of the video but maybe didn't return all the mutes to how I had them before.
Hey! Nothing special, I just mean starting the transition to the next pattern. The transition doesn't happen immediately but instead takes until the end of the pattern to happen, so I "cue" it and then it transitions a few beats later. Thanks for watching and asking a good question!
I only watched 3 minutes but I already know this is going to be another Syntakt banger video 🔥🔥🔥
This is just one of the best videos (if not the best) I saw learning Syntakt 🙏 please keep going
And your track is really on fire 🔥👍
This track is fantastic. Excellent lesson too!
Wow what an amazing fly on the wall experience. Thank you for your generosity
You bet! I'm glad you liked it
This is heat my bro 😎 love the idea of keeping long anticipated section
Don't have a Syntakt (yet..), but this was still very insightful for building a song from a loop!
This was great! Thank you and great track 😄
Omg this bangs! What a cool tutorial! I've been missing something like this!

That's why I never use song mode... 😢
Ace! Some new vids on this badboy

@@KaiBurley haha nice one, glad to have shared a little something back ;)
to 'cue' a pattern, is that a special dj wording, has it a special meaning?

But djs do 'cue' songs and there is a cue button on dj decks :)
