You have helped so many of us for years to understand how to take 360 photos and tours that we can only support you in this decision. And I'm sure you'll continue producing excellent contents. I appreciate your concern in sharing your plans, thoughts and frustrations and I wish you good luck!
Happy birthday Ben! Sometimes a change is needed in all of our lives. We just have to pay attention and know when to make a move. Good luck on your 2024 plans.
4000 views and 275 comments in 8 hours - that shows you the value you give to all of us - so thank you and happy birthday. An inspiring, educational and informative video, as always, and one that resonates with me,
You've been my primary source for info and ideas in 360 photography. It's not a "return" you can exchange for a loaf of bread, I understand. But you've helped me and many others I'm sure with your efforts. I wish you the best and hope you achieve comfort, if not wild success.
Hello Ben! I'm a little sad that you're having trouble. But I’m glad that you don’t give up and are looking for a way to move on! I sincerely wish you success! I want you to know that your videos have helped me a lot! And to many other people. I learned from your videos and found a lot of new ideas and topics to learn from your videos. I came up with some things on my own, I invented some myself in the field of 360 tours. And I will be happy to share my thoughts with you! I really appreciate your work! Thank you!
Bro you just did a video in 1 take, so just go Live and talk directly to your supporters about your content and chop it up into shorts! You’ve been excellent and I’ve learned alot. You got this! 💯💯
Thanks- honestly this video was so UNplanned that I didn’t think to do a live, nor could I really be bothered with the setup connecting my camera etc. connecting with a lot of people in the comments though which is good!
Happy Birthday Ben! I've learned so much about 360 cameras from your channel. I think you are a fantastic content creator. You definitely added a lot value in this space. Good Luck on your future endeavors.
You sound as clear and concise in one take as you did in version twenty of multiple takes. I enjoy your voice and expression (content included) don't let this process get you down..... Enjoy life at whatever speed you deem comfortable. All the best to you!
Happy birthday Ben!!! When I started my 360 journey, your video was first popping up on RUclips. Some years later, I am still watching your content and now I lead the XR lab that heavily has to deal with 360 cameras. Keep doing what inspires you the most and enjoy the journey!!! I wish you a great success!
Ben, I’ve always enjoyed your honesty and in depth analysis. I hope this change works for you. Can’t wait to see how the change looks. Oh Happy Birthday!
focus on the content is good. Bought my insta360 after watching numerous of your youtube. Extremely happy with my purchase and bringing it to each and every of my holidays and excursion
I've always loved your videos. If RUclips rewards were based on quality, you'd be up there with the big ones. Listen, I have an Insta360 One R sat around hardly used. Why? Because I struggle to grasp the settings and editing. I revert to my newer 360 Go 3 for the ease of it all. If you were to focus on the day to day use of the 360 in specific environments, including the settings you are choosing (live at the scene), I would find that really beneficial for learning from. Yes I know others have covered it, but they're not as good as you. Good luck in 2024 - you deserve it.
Seven years and only at 168K subs? Your channel is not growing my guy. Gotta do something different with the way you're making content. I'm at 73K subs in 2 years and will reach my goal of 1million subs around May 2026. I use CapCut and Insta360 X3.
Time does not guarantee channel growth. The channel has definitely grown in that time- 99% of channels don’t reach the number I’m currently at. That said, I’m in a niche where I’ve more or less reached the ceiling in terms of subscribers, which is why it’s time to expand into other topics. Also- more subscribers does not equal more ROI… which is the main thing I’m looking to improve.
I really appreciate not only the technical tests, the tricks, the suggestions, but also the speeches, like this one, which concern what we do, how and why, and very often your considerations in this regard are inspiring. Thank you
4:00 Just to be clear, it's really not about subscribers, it's more about keeping the flow. You can survive on ad revenue alone but it also depends how much you can put out. If you want to grow in views, I suggest thinking of more simple ideas that reach a wide audience or if you're able to, find someone who you can work with to cut down the filming time. Another idea is to post your videos as tiktok videos and post your content there.
It’s a tough one as it requires you to invest more (of your time) to (possibly) get more (revenue). That said, a shift in topics to a wider niche and a reduction of editing time will definitely help make it manageable 😁
Ben, overall you are the best on 360 reviews. Congrats on the new approach. While this video could have been shorter, it kept me listening as there was so much emotion in it, and that is what keeps us hooked.
Hi Ben, Shing here. Congratulations to your 35th birthday! You don't look one day older than 28. What you said in the video makes 100% sense because time always is your most valuable asset. I personally am watching all of your videos and I'm sure you're on the right path. You're the best 360 creator out there for sure! Have a great day and lots of love.
Ben you make really good content. Your niche is probably a lot of 360 videos (360 cameras), and theres a lot of work editing 360 videos. Changing the editing program is a smart decision. I also previously used premiere pro, switched to Davinci Resolve 2 years ago. Will never go back to premiere pro
Appreciate your honesty! I can't imagine how much time goes into shooting, editing and writing some of these videos. Thanks for inspiring me to shoot 360 and even take a stab at virtual tours for a while. We're human, we all change our perspective on what's valuable. Thanks for sharing this!
Yea I hear you. Luckily even though I have almost 2000 videos on RUclips I never looked at it as a career. When you do the hard math and figure your time/reward ratio it rarely works out for most creators. So, I do it because I enjoy it. Good luck to you.
Great video! As a budding creator I need that very honest info from an experienced creator like yourself. Very much appreciated, and for what it's worth yours is one of my favorite channels. Always quality info.
How selfish of you, wanting to make a living doing what you do SO well! I'm kidding, of course. You're one of the few YTers who consistently provide incredible, free content! You should be at a million-plus subs, for one thing (and I push your channel EVERY time I see a question about 360º videos that you've solved in one of your videos), and I have no idea why you're not. BTW... Happy Birthday! I enjoy all your videos, the longer ones especially... sorry to see those go away. Whatever you do, you should feel good about it. You deserve to enjoy your YT experience. And THANK YOU for what you do!!! I really appreciate all you do.
Hey, Ben... I've been following you ever since I got into 360 photography and video about 4 years ago. I've enjoyed your content and presentation style so much that I've bought some of your courses. Worth every penny! Can you edit 360 video in Capcut or Davinci Resolve? I've been using PowerDirector but always looking for other/better options. Keep fighting the good fight, my friend!
Why not start doing the live streaming and shorts? The live streaming allows people like myself to connect and chat to you. I also do 360 work but we personally have never chatted before - get closer to your village?
I haven’t done lives before but I’ll definitely consider it- however I just need time to pinpoint which specific audience I’m working with going forward, before I build out content, live streams etc.
The ROI is much dependant of youtube algorithms, where they fail is finding the niche audience for videos like a 360 camera review is. Your videos for sure are good, they do not just interest that many people over all, but I am sure there is million + potential subscribers how never have seen them.
Your videos are always good.. I always watch.. I am a 25 year plus Video Editor/Motion Graphics artist.. And I feel you.. People have nooooo idea what it takes to make something that is really good.. Endless tedious hours.. For me tons of trial and error to get something just right.. Lots of frustration.. I go through stages of "should I be doing this" and there has to be easier ways to make money" to "its what I love".. Hopefully you take some time for yourself and recalibrate and figure out which direction you want to of.. I will be watching..
Good luck Ben! I would love to see your take on the best workflows for short-form video creation with devices like the Pocket Osmo, Action cams, drones and phones.
I enjoyed it! Raw. Congrats on this realization, Ben, and your birthday. You're right. Whatever was good back then on RUclips may not be great in the Now. Change is great! You're going to be ok cause now you “punched fear in the face”( perfectionism ). “Start before you're ready,” to quote #ThinkMedia ’s founder Sean Cannell. I agree sometimes it is better to edit small, easy & short! I was like you, a perfectionist, but once I punched perfection in the face, it worked for me. I enjoy your content paid and also the one here on RUclips, “We Salute Ya” 🫡 to quote AC/DC
Thank you for posting this video as I fully understand where you're coming from. Like you, I'm a pro video editor and have been using FCPX for many, many years. However, I'm retired and after 30+ years in the TV industry, I truly enjoy the production process. If I was your age, I would follow your advice and find alternative methods to creating content as traditional editing methods are simply too time consuming. Also, using 360 footage adds quite a bit of time to the workflow. While I've found some unique methods for using 360 files in traditional videos to get multiple angles from a single camera, it does add a lot of time to the production process.
Hello, I learned a lot from your channel, and through you I started with 360 cameras and also made videos and I also started with Premiere Pro, but I'm not an editing professional. I understand what you're saying, a lot of time is wasted, but I'm looking forward on that DaVinci software and hope for tutorials then I will switch too "You're still young and have a lot of potential, I'm 52 and trying to reach 100K before I retire 😀
Nice to get to know you better through this video. Love your work. It totally resonates how much time goes into editing. Keep innovating my friend. And dont forget your work reaches the other side of the planet!
Cape cut is tiktok. So. I use Cyperlink 365 and i will never use DV or PP. Way to time consuming. 365 can 360 too. So easy. very fast. I know it looks so, newbie. But the end result is ok. And i'm not hollywood. One guy i did shoot with, he did lean some triks from me, but he did switch to DV and now, he never uplouds. It is way to complicated. But he makes shorts on CC and they are so, auto edit, they suck. You can make videos more simple. But 360 it niche, and think you have many subs. It's hard. Like me, fishing video in denmark, one need to be royal to get many subs here. So every $ every day after day hunting the fish, and all cams and audio goin is all my own, not one $ comes my way. But, i still make the best content, not all look at this, buy buy. Did stop using 360 lol but i still love it
Hi Ben, It's resonate a lot of me as Content Creator (much lower level as you, my master) but i reach the same conclusion as you. I spent so much time on editing and my videos publishing frequency is too slow. I slow down a lot in 2023, mainly because I have to manage get revenues by my own. I reach the same conclusion, going more on short content and using Capcut, I already used the free version, that it's great but quickly you want the paid version. As well, I am exploring the AI staff to create video quickly, AI capcut is there but not perfect. I think that AI will change the way to produce videos in the future, what do you think ? In the other way , I want to keep long content with more classical workflow and Premiere Pro editing, but i need to select carefully my content. Let's see if it's manageable. I will be happy to see your new contents on social media platforms 😀 Fabien
Thanks Fabien, yes I do think AI and templates material within apps like CapCut are going to be a big help for creators like us who take too much time to make a video 😁
Great video, I'm glad I came across it. Being a fellow content creator so much of what you said resonated deeply. ROI is a such a great way to frame it. I've been creating on RUclips for about 7 years. Fortunately I'm not dependant on RUclips earnings to put food on the table. I enjoy creating and sharing content however the bargain with myself has always been that there needs to be enough return to justify the investment of my time. RUclips is ad revenue is my main source of "return" and yeah, it's not great but it has typically been enough to feel worthwhile. Certainly though, there have been videos where the ROI has been so poor I question why I even bother. Too many of those in a row and burn out creeps in and I contemplate quitting. Sounds like you have a good plan. Best of luck moving forward and continuing to make great content. Cheers Ben!
Happy birthday, Ben! Some of the videos I've made were ones I thought would be huge hits on my channel. And flopped. It's so disappointing. Especially when, like you said, they take tons of time to make. Since new years I've been using Opus to create shorts from my old videos and have seen significant growth through them. But, I need to get back and get editing my stored footage. It's just not very motivating when you don't get the views you'd hoped for. I wish you all the best in your journey in 2024!
I concur with you. even though I'm just a newbie not to be rich with youtube. It's just a hobby and passion for me to share my travel, daily life and I enjoy doing it. Viewers should atleast give a thumbs up if don't want to subscribe. I realised even a simple editing and planning it does take a lots of time. Subscription is free so I don't know why viewers just don't do it.
I hear you mate. I was earning more with ad revenue 3 years ago with 5 times less subs and views.... 😮 I've started to take breaks and makes videos when I want too and best thing I ever did. Roi is no were near where it needs to be for small channels to grow. Wonder what happens when the bigger channels stop? Smaller channels cannot survive....
Very true- it’s up to your own business ability to sustain your channel financially as well as not burn yourself out in the process. It’s not impossible, but it does take a lot of deliberate decisions like the ones I mentioned in the video.
Speed. Yes. Just copying these enormous files can bury you. BRAW, CLOG - 6K and 4K 60fps monsters can turn a bright happy mac into a stuffed brick unless you have your storage AND thunderbolt local drives worked out. DaVinci is a dream and the Studio version that came with the camera is a screamer. The AI gear in that is worth the ticket price alone. Running an M1 Mac mini editing 6k Braw off Thunderbolt connected SSD drives through an OWC 3 port Thunderbolt hub and it is a smooth as room temperature butter. I wish you all the success mate.
Well done YOUNG Ben for your creations over the years. Have to agree changing as I have done the software from paid to free has made life so much easier. Its my underwater videos I love to do but I understand that short is best. Keep doing what you are doing with focus
Ben Ben Ben, sounds like a bad night. You will always be the 360 GOTO guy. I agreed hit em in the face in 10-15 sec. ROCKS. sorry if a little agressive first post in 10 years. : )
I'm also a YT content creator, and I agree that putting too much time into one video, no matter how well it turns out, isn't worth it most of the time. And best of luck in streamlining your workflow and creating more content in less time. Happy Birthday Ben.
Have you considered doing any live content e.g. this video above was very thoughtful (done in 1 take). I'm just wondering if live content examination of 360 tools and cameras might be just as rewarding ? Sure it's tricky to do 360 re-framed but getting content via an interactive stream may also give you some feedback rewards ? As for the switch in tools - I've been editing videos with capcut web on a cheap chromebook for the last 6 months - It's a good for fast content creation and re-framed exported 360 videos, but sadly as yet I've not found a way to edit/produce 360 content directly using capcut - I submitted a request to capcut last year about this- I've tried to upload flattened ER video and edit it in capcut then export and tweak the ER video file before uploading to youtube but that didn't work. Davinci resolve I was using on my macbooks since 2015 and my first Ricoh 360 camera , but when I switched to chromebooks 2 years ago I lost touch with using it. I've raised reports to Insta360 to get them to implement a better workflow editor tool or Chromebooks - the response from insta360 was sorry not supported.
Never easy making quality YT content. I gave it a go about 6 years ago. Made two videos, 20 mins each, and spent months editing them so that I was completely happy with them. They performed well within the community they targeted, but the effort just wasn't worth the reward. So that was that. I wasn't prepared to put stuff out there that I wasn't 100% happy with, so called it a day. Too fussy perhaps 😅. I've enjoyed watching your 360 content these last few years Ben. Fully get where you're coming from. Good luck with the change and I hope it all works out for you 👍🏼
I've really appreciated your videos. I got the X3, learned how to use it, and took it to Paris, because of your reviews. In terms of the ROI and workload and changing to focusing on topics, I'm completely with you. I'll be keeping up with you!
Thanks Ben. That’s useful insight and experience from a Pro - particularly as I’m considering a social media channel for a new real world bricks & mortar venture. I don’t want to become a “RUclipsr”, but social media can’t be ignored.
Your review and honesty is highly appreciated. And your ongoing focus on shorter videos sounds excellent as well like the editing part. Keep your focus however on 360 that makes you unique. Maybe have a stronger connection to Insta360 as their tutorials are very weak, and i can imagine they need a specialist. Also regarding ROI, well if you are financiele depending on youtube and advertising benefits etc, it might not be enough. But you also have to get your rewards from all the people who love watching you (including myself). Not everything in life has a financial benefit, but has a strong emotonial reward benefit. Kind regards from The Netherlands
While I do appreciate the effort you put into editing and really enjoy all the bells and whistes you include in your videos I completely understand the concept of ROI. As you pointed out the message is what is most important. However, I also want to let you know that the high production value of your videos pplayed a role in getting me to watch and subscribe. Mayve every now and then you can spice up your videos with those fancy graphics as eye candy. BTW, I watched your "Which 360 camera you should buy in 2024" from start to finish. Very well done so a big Thank You for that.
Ben...as a past consultant I found that free advice is worth the price. However you are my first choice for getting trusted advice about 360 cameras. You have a unique presentation style and personality that wins you that trust...but...you are in a crowded market of product reviewers all seeking a ROI. Maybe wearing all the hats as a RUclipsr is holding you back.
Hi Ben, 5 to 10 minute videos would be ideal for everyone. Right now. I'm putting together a video of a school trip to Europe, the high schools don't want anything above 3 minutes 30 seconds to show in assemblies. I have noticed, too often, that videos longer than 15 minutes have less success, people are bored to death, including myself 🤔 Good luck Ben 👍
❤❤❤brother its a humble request plz guide us about the police cam video editing video plz which no one guided on RUclips like ex cop , blue pov , mr detective , catching killers etc plz plz plz consider my request its a humble request to you brother wonder of thanks ❤❤❤❤
Happy birthday. Looking forward to bite sized Mr Ben in the near future. I have always enjoyed your content, and would probably say that you have lead me in my 360 journey from the very beginning with a OneX through to the X3 and beyond.
I certainly understand your point. I'm at my day job over 100 hours per week. I really enjoy working on videos BUT the ROI isn't really there. If I spent the same amount of extra time at my day job the ROI would be way better. That said, I'm planning to do more stuff here after I retire. Until then I'll do what I can when I can.
Belated Happy Birthday! You're saying what I said to my wife a while ago. The long editing is the problem. We worry too much about making it perfect instead of quickly putting good content online. I also gave up on Premiere Pro. It's too time-consuming to work with.
You’re working as a true pro - top of your game, but not being paid for it. I can see your problem. It seems like for the creator, RUclips only works if you’re in the top .001% Then your hourly rate is half decent. Good luck finding quicker and more efficient tools. AI etc. 80/20 rule
Belated Happy Birthday…. I found at 40 that the tools from Adobe were good, but expensive and to be fair other companies have caught up and indeed overtaken Adobe. I know use Davinci, serif for illustration, photo and page makeup and have not looked back. The money saved alone goes into other things rather than paying for all those Adobe profits. A great choice. 👍
Hi - just started watching your channel and really interesting as someone who is looking at getting into 360 video production. Really made me think and will definitely be watching more of your content on whichever platform! And Happy Birthday 🎉
Resolve for the win!! I have just a small channel and used to spend hours editing, grading etc. Now I take 30-50% of the time I used to, it's not worth the extra effort really.
Great video Ben, completely get what you are saying. You gave me the knowledge to get started with 360 imaging, so thank you, I look forward to your editing videos.
If you sat on this side of the screen Ben, you would see most of us marveling not at your content quality (which is great) but wondering out loud about how much time it must take you to make such in-depth videos! There is a happy medium- shorter, less "all encompassing" etc. I like the idea of more 360 editing tips and tricks, rather than massive camera comparisons.
I respect your way in clarifying ur work assessment and replaning ur approach to ur audience, and support u 100%. I'm feeling bad about worldwide culture in general that they appreciate nonsense youtube videos which dose not have added values over content makers like u who add knowledge and knowhow to them and the result is million of followers to chanells that show maybe daily routine of someone or jokes and on the other side content like urs or similar content creators just have thousands only which indicates the level ov awareness we reached. All i can say to u that somehow u'll get the payback u really deserve for ur honest, hardworking efforts to produce USEFUL content..
Have benefitted greatly from your content. You’ve been a great cheerleader for those of us who get weary with the whole process. And 35? Child! Looking forward!
Ben , Thanks for all the information that you have shared in your videos. I know that I have learned a lot from watching them. Keep up that good work. It is really appreciated by myself and I know by a lot of others. The Insta 360 X 3 has been a game changer for me thanks to your valued input.
A lot of the big channels farm out the editing to a 3rd party, also when you do this kinda thing you can't really put an hourly rate on your work/ time. When working for a boss you get an hourly rate. Just letting you know I love your content and this channel is why I ended up with a 360 camera. Anyway Ben do what ever makes you happy.
I feel you and am doing exactly the same thing….in spent way too much time on my edits, more then needed and too much on graphics and sound effects. I was also too scripted, in 2024 I’m ditching premier and going to da Vinci also. I am a perfectionist and that got in the way. I hated seeing my crappy videos do better then the really good ones, also was discouraged by seeing other people’s videos that were complete crap blow up beyond anything I had. Don’t get bummed and don’t let anyone else discourage you….family is always the first to do this as our time spent on this takes away from them. Fast shooting, being sincere, to the point quickly is all anyone has time for now.
Ben you have been a great source for information about the 360 world. I tend to agree with you as a consumer of you content. I there because of you honesty, knowledge and personality. I am really not judging you for the arrows or captions on the screen. Just my take. Also happy B Day.
Ben I have always loved your honest advice on 360 products and your content and editing is solid; and thank you for your content, which I always looked forward to.
I look forward to the NEW YOU! I think it's the right direction and Don't forget to us AI where it can shorten the workflow and still keep the product decent.
Happy Birthday Ben, the thing is how to create and keep it fun and don´t spend hours and hours editing, mixing, color correcting, keyframing and rendering. Work smart not hard
Your thoughts and concerns translated into my own career in the IT industry resembles the same issues, just with other colours. I think many people would agree with me on that. 😊
At least you didn't use the excuse of wanting to spend more time with your family. The owners of you tube aren't short of a quid. Looking forward to another company taking you tube on.
I’m excited to see some of your shorter videos and reels. Some of your videos drag a bit, could benefit from being a bit tighter. Keep up the great work.
Thank you for the insights. It sucks, but trimming the fat is a necessity even in the YT world nowadays. I don't feel like it was always this way, but it is what it is. I'm sure that many aspiring content creators will make use of these tips, thanks again for putting this out there for people to consider and learn from.
Will be interesting to see how changing your editing workflow and software is going to effect your work Mr Ben. But please don't get caught up to much in creating those snappy and super short items for those with the attention span of a gnat! ;-)
Love your content. I use Camtasia for video editing which has a high upfront cost but low cost annual maintenance means free update every year. Keep up the good work.
RUclips just won't appreciate content creator's effort enough, won't even promote or get your content to the target audience. I truly understand as a first person FOV.
OK my friend I am subscribed to you and am sure your not subscribed to me anyway your videos are always awesome but here's the thing when I buy a camera just like your average jo I want a camera that I can take the shot with without having to edit anything you always show i clip of unedited footage then the best it can be there are loads of people that don't want to edit anything just like myself like all my drone footage is unedited not for me as I am sure its not meant for loads of people maybe try this instead of trying your best my friend
Appreciate your content, you were one of the first 360 guides for me and got me into it, helped with getting the kit, gave me ideas, I just need to do something with it now. The next step for me will be improving my editing so I can get some stuff out there and it sounds like your new direction will help me along that path. Little and often sounds great too.
Ben, we appreciate the time you invest into making the best 360 cameras videos. Thank you after all these years.
The pleasure is all mine 😁
Ben, your reasoning is flawless, I agree with you. Do what you think is right/best. 🤠
You have helped so many of us for years to understand how to take 360 photos and tours that we can only support you in this decision. And I'm sure you'll continue producing excellent contents. I appreciate your concern in sharing your plans, thoughts and frustrations and I wish you good luck!
Thanks for sticking around!
Happy birthday Ben! Sometimes a change is needed in all of our lives. We just have to pay attention and know when to make a move. Good luck on your 2024 plans.
Too true! Many thanks!
4000 views and 275 comments in 8 hours - that shows you the value you give to all of us - so thank you and happy birthday. An inspiring, educational and informative video, as always, and one that resonates with me,
Thanks for the kind words! Yeah seems like people are resonating with the message 😀

@@BenClaremont You the man!! I just see more creators doing more lives than edited video content. I think that’s the wave
You're the one who open the door of 360 VDO for me. You're actually my inspiration, Take the time and be strong.
Glad to hear it 😁
Happy Birthday Ben! I've learned so much about 360 cameras from your channel. I think you are a fantastic content creator. You definitely added a lot value in this space. Good Luck on your future endeavors.
Thanks!
You sound as clear and concise in one take as you did in version twenty of multiple takes. I enjoy your voice and expression (content included) don't let this process get you down..... Enjoy life at whatever speed you deem comfortable. All the best to you!
Thanks! Maybe I’ll do more one-takers 😁

Thanks! Looking forward to posting more often now 😁
Good luck. I'll keep watching :-)
Thanks!
Ben, your reasoning is flawless, I agree with you. Do what you think is right/best.
Mystery YT algorithms is the most difficult battle to win
Your efforts have been appreciated, thank you 😊
Totally hear you Ben

I've always loved your videos. If RUclips rewards were based on quality, you'd be up there with the big ones. Listen, I have an Insta360 One R sat around hardly used. Why? Great content and advice. You'll continue rocketing it. I just subscribed to support.
I can relate into this one!
Thanks Shing!
My son struggled with the time consuming editing so now he does livestreams so no more editing
No worries, glad to hear that 😀
Yea I hear you.
No worries, and happy to hear that! Good luck with your channel 😁
Thank you for your effort, we appreciate it very much.
Thanks for your support!
Thanks Mark! You edit 360 videos in Davinci resolve yes- check out the 360 Video 101 course for my tutorials on how to do it 😀
I feel you and i‘m looking forward to your new videos. always remember: the last 20% of quality costs 80% of work. not always worth of it ✌️
For sure!
For sure.
For sure- good motion graphics make it ‘look easy’, but little do people know how much time & effort goes into things. Hang in there!
You have been amazing Ben. You are one of the people who shaped my career in the field of 360, 6 years ago. Thank you for everything ❤
My pleasure- and super happy to hear that!
Good luck Ben! I would love to see your take on the best workflows for short-form video creation with devices like the Pocket Osmo, Action cams, drones and phones.
Will definitely consider it 😁
I enjoyed it!
Haha thanks, all great quotes & attitudes 😀
Thank you for posting this video as I fully understand where you're coming from. Like you, I'm a pro video editor and have been using FCPX for many, many years. However, I'm retired and after 30+ years in the TV industry, I truly enjoy the production process. If I was your age, I would follow your advice and find alternative methods to creating content as traditional editing methods are simply too time consuming. Also, using 360 footage adds quite a bit of time to the workflow. While I've found some unique methods for using 360 files in traditional videos to get multiple angles from a single camera, it does add a lot of time to the production process.
P.S. Happy Birthday Old Man!
Hello, I learned a lot from your channel, and through you I started with 360 cameras and also made videos and I also started with Premiere Pro, but I'm not an editing professional. I understand what you're saying, a lot of time is wasted, but I'm looking forward on that DaVinci software and hope for tutorials then I will switch too
"You're still young and have a lot of potential, I'm 52 and trying to reach 100K before I retire 😀
Wishing you the best of luck!
Nice to get to know you better through this video. Love your work. It totally resonates how much time goes into editing. Keep innovating my friend. And dont forget your work reaches the other side of the planet!
Thanks! Glad it resonated 😀
I will be happy to see your new contents on social media platforms 😀
Fabien
Cheers Ben!
Thanks Steve! Keep it up 😀
Happy birthday, Ben!
I'm in the same boat mate, also in Sydney
Happy birthday! Whishing you well! Thanks for all yours videos! Definitely right move.
I've always enjoyed your videos, I'm glad you're changing, not leaving, I'm excited to see where you go from here.
Hi Ben,
5 to 10 minute videos would be ideal for everyone.
Right now. I'm putting together a video of a school trip to Europe, the high schools don't want anything above 3 minutes 30 seconds to show in assemblies. I have noticed, too often, that videos longer than 15 minutes have less success, people are bored to death, including myself 🤔
Good luck Ben 👍
Totally understandable! Thanks for the honest sharing of your thoughts. Your content is welcome...in any form.
Resolve for the win!! I have just a small channel and used to spend hours editing, grading etc. Now I take 30-50% of the time I used to, it's not worth the extra effort really.
Great video Ben, completely get what you are saying. You gave me the knowledge to get started with 360 imaging, so thank you, I
look forward to your editing videos.
Today is the day that one take is all you need is change your focus and direction for a better future.
Thanks Peter 🙏🏻
Now if capcut could handle 360 video, that would be awesome
For sure- although it CAN combine clips together after you reframe them in the Insta360 app 😁
Happy Birthday! I love the Idea of more about editing and easier Videos! And Thx for your great content over the years!
Hey!! You are my 360 man!! But yeah, your videos are impressive piece of work. I took too much time for sure.
Well spoken Ben💪🏼 I learned a long time ago there is no thing as a perfect thing. Keep up the good work…
Thanks! 🙏🏻
Today IS the day. Always good to reflect. Look forward to the rough new editing content. 💪
Happy birthday Ben 🎉🎉 🎉 i am looking forward to your new content
Greating from germany
