I think next year Fox should cover the Hall of Fame game one more time. Now that Jimmy Johnson is a Hall of Famer we would see the entire Fox Pre game crew with Hall of Fame jackets.
They could have done both Panthers and Bears for the HOF game because of Peppers however I can understand why they went with an AFC team with the Texans and Andre Johnson.
That was a good matchup. But I also think because of what the current status of the teams are makes sense. The Bears are in line to potentially draft Caleb Williams at #1 while the Texans are potentially an AFC contender next year.

I will actually be in Chicago on a short vacation from work, I don't care if the Bears win that game or not, it's just a meaningless preseason game! in December when I come back to Chicago for Christmas vacation, they better win, i'll be back a second time in 2024 late in the regular season.

Speaking as a Texans fan, I remember last year that we _felt_ missing that fourth preseason game that all the teams used to get when the regular season was 16 games. Stroud was pretty forgettable in preseason, and didn't really grasp the system or get up to an NFL pace until the end of the second regular season game against the Colts. If he'd played an extra preseason game, maybe they win that Colts game and get an extra home game in the playoffs. If Williams is a successful rookie, it's not at all out of the realm of possibility for Bears to sneak into a wild card spot, given the fairly weak middle tier in the NFC. Heck, last year, they weren't even mathematically eliminated until what, week 16? Being NFL ready one game earlier can make a lot of difference. Of course, there's also a higher chance of injury of Williams plays an additional preseason game. I guess we'll see how the Bears handle it in a few months, and whether he's the Next Big Thing or yet another over-hyped bust.
The actual game is completely irrelevant, it’s almost disrespectful to the hall. The only reason anyone will turn it on is for any festivities before the game then everyone will turn it off.
