Shrek is the Dreamworks version of Toy story. Animation that still holds up, great cast, comedy, romance, a deep message, and an awesome sequel.
The "book" she is from is the book at the opening! The princess locked in the highest room in the tallest tower, under a curse only to be broken by true love's first kiss!!
The one he wiped his bum with
If I remember right, isn't it a reference to Sleeping Beauty?
I LOVE all the Shrek movies! They are so good. The adventures, the romance, the friendship, the comedy, everything is perfect. These films are special because they show that appearance isn't everything, and that everyone is equally worthy. Shrek you're the best! 💖🤩🔥
Genuinely love your reactions! It’s so sincere. My father passed away in 2007 and I don’t really have a father figure in my life. I wish I was your daughter. Or Atleast one of your students. You give such amazing advice and I can just tell you are an amazing human. I feel so grateful to know you exist in the same world I do and I feel safe watching your videos. I learn a lot from you and your advice stays with me! Thank you for your videos! 🥲 stay healthy!
Nash, bless your heart and soul. If you ever need to talk do not hesitate to. Keep your chin up and stay positive. I am sure you have family above who love you and are proud of you.
I’m not sure if Robin Williams was ever in a Robin Hood movie, but he does play Peter Pan in the movie “Hook.” Perhaps that’s what you’re thinking of?
The best Robin Hood movie to me was played by Cary elwes in Mel Brooks Robin Hood: Men in tights.
I’m glad you’re going to finally see the other movies! Shrek is such a classic and the 2nd shrek is considered most people’s favourites it’s such a perfect sequel they really nailed it with that one with such good characters
I love the very end of the 2nd movie when Dragon shows up with the Dronkeys, they're so cute and weird LoL 🤣
I do that too. Talk over the movie when I know the lines. I know a handful of animated line for line. So fun
It is the best when alone haha
Shrek forever after is also good af, the comedy is gold
The fourth shrek movie is soo underrated
You know is interesting that you ask about donkey’s ability to talk. There are some theories suggesting that donkey came from the fairytale of Pinocchio. That he was one of the children that were turn into donkeys in pleasure island ( which explain why he was able to talk). The idea was that after being turn into a donkey. He was sold and was pass from owner to owner into his adulthood and so meeting shrek after donkey’s last owner was trying to sell him to the soldiers.
21:40 your question "why is there a dragon chained up to guard Fiona?" Basically a witch put a curse on her when she was 7 her parents locked her in that tower guarded by the dragon to hide her curse. Lord Farquad had something to do with it I believe. This extra lore is in the beginning scene of Shrek the Musical. (Its really good.) It's on Netflix. Watch it
I love this movie! It's so iconic.
You have to watch shrek 1, 2 and 3 to get why she was locked up and who she really was
And four
Robin Williams played Peter Pan but not Robin Hood lol. Though if you’ve seen the movie Princess Bride, the main dude was plays Wesley plays a Robin Hood in Robin Hood: Men in Tights (which I recommend watching cause it’s hilarious and has Dave Chappell in it)
I don't think that Fiona is from any book or story. She is just that typical princess who got locked up in a tower by a evil stepmother or a witch.
She`s actually from the same book the movie is based on, Shrek! by William Steig.
It's the book in the into that Shrek used to wipe his ass
I love the Shrek movies so much, they're so good 😊🥰
Also if you do watch the 2nd one there's something after the credits. I can't remember but I think the other movies have something after the credits.
I do the same. I learn lines of movies very fast , then I was born as stutter I use to act the movies out to teach me to talk , is not annoying, makes me very happy I'm not alone you put a smile on me thank u
I'm not always a fan of the movie trope of the "misunderstanding" that causes the characters to split apart, and feeling sad.
But with this movie, I realized why they did it. It's because Shrek was triggered. He was hurt.
He fell in love with Fiona, and even after talking about building 10 foot walls, he asked her to come visit him.
He finally opened up, and accepted people into his life.
And when he heard out-of-context what Fiona said, he built his "walls" up again.
He needed Donkey to make him realize he has so many "layers" he's afraid of his own feelings. Shrek was too scared to be hurt again.
But he needed Donkey to remind him he has people in his life who love him.
Honestly this movie was so ahead of its time; the idea of mashing up various fairytales and doing a parody of famous Disney tropes was brilliant. I love everything about it, no exception. 😄😄
6:00 You’re not alone on doing that. It shows how much you love the movie.
I do that with almost any movie I watch XD I can't help it!!!
It's hard not to quote this movie! My mom and me still do, haha
That is quite a tradition of locking up a maiden who didn't want to get married to a suitor her parents chose. The village would call such a woman a she-devil, a witch, a mad woman or a cursed one. People really believed that shit. But the fairy tales, fables in literature made the magic aspect look real. Anyway, such woman, if she is a princess would be forced to live her live in solitude in a high tower. Also, in heroic stories there is a tradition of rescuing a damsel in distress, usually a princess by a knight, imprisoned by some evil force, like a witch (see Tangled, I believe it's based on a fairy tale but I didn't read it, also The Witcher season 1 episode 3).
Yes, Tangled is the adaptation of the tale " Rapunzel "
“Tangled” is actually loosely based on the German fairy tale “Rapunzel” written by the Grimm Brothers during the 19th century. A classic I grew up with, even years before “Tangled” was released.
love this movie and grew up watching it
Im literally such a sap. I cry multiple time everytime i watch this. So many lessons you can learn from this movie
Shrek and Donkey chained the dragon, it's the chandelier that droped down on her. :)
Great reaction mate 💯🤘❤️ keep an eye open for all the movie references 🤘🤘Eddie Murphy as donkey was genius 💯lmao how ppl going to ask what’s a VHS 🤣🤣🤣🤣
27:17 that was an actual belch by Cameron Diaz who had been drinking a soda while recording. Eddie Murphy then adlibbed his reaction with the next line.
What most people misunderstand about this story is that even if Shrek heard and knew everything from the beginning he would still let her marry Lord Farquaad so she can break her spell and live as a human, that's what he almost did in the second movie.
Love your reactions!! I love the Shrek movies so much. I'm the same. Knowing all the words to the movie lol
Keep something in their behind 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
The Dragon wasn't chained up, Donkey and Shrek dropped the Chandelier on her during the chase.
In the UK farquad's name is also an adult joke cos it sounds like an insult here.
My mum and me actually did a double take when we first heard it cos my mum didn't want me watching shows with swearwords in as a kid.
When I was really little (the movie came out when I was six), I knew the name sounded like a swear, but I couldn't figure out why (I didn't know the f-word until I was seven or eight).
It was also an insult towards Michael Eisner.
13:32 That was an adlib by Mike Myers which he used towards a director who was getting on his nerves.
My favorite movie
27:10 she is a princess It was the king and Queen that were coursed by Farquad into locking their daughter away. Shortly after Farquad completely took over the kingdom. At least that's how I understand the story I may be waaay off. But Fiona and Shrek are both 27 in this film both were shut out by their parents at age 7. Shrek because all ogres leave home at 7. And Fiona her parents were horrified and easily manipulated by farquad after the witch cursed Fiona.
It may have been like a law farquad passed back then after all I'm pretty sure he was always a Lord. I need to brush up on this lore now dang it
16:51 Ogre and Shrek 😂
Haha
I love this movie and your Reaction to it
the dragon always reminded me of someone. now I know for sure it's Cher.i like 4 shrek movies
You should react to
Pocahontas &
Cars!
I love these movies, I'm Still not sure how I feel about seeing momma bear sprawled out on Farquads floor 😅 but definitely not quite what I remembered when I watched it for the first time haha
Is it even logical that the dragon's big body helps her fly? I think that's counterproductive due to the size of her wings.
Love this movie and the sequel
Sleeping Beauty is what book I believe she is from.
If you'd like a slight change with this movie (and can find it) you should watch shrek the musical.
I'm not sure if you've seen it or have access to it, but I feel like you would love Shrek the musical given how you reacted to Hamilton and how much you seem to love the movie. I would love to see your reaction to it! I think Shrek the musical is just a real cool adaptation of the story for the stage and it's done really well! Definitely recommend!!!
I hope you react to the rest
Shrek:2
Shrek: the thrid
Shrek: forever after, AKA my favourite one.
Great movies, these.
My shrek ranking personally goes from best to least is
Shrek 1
Shrek 4
Shrek 2
Shrek 3
I commented earlier to make you watch Encanto, sorry bout that. I love your reactions! ^^
You are awesome
If you liked this movie and you have recently reacted to a musical, you should watch Shrek the musical!!!!! So underrated :)))
28:49 matrix reference
The book Fiona is from is the one Shrek used in the intro to wipe his ass
Another movie trilliogy to see you watch and see what you think about it.
Have you done Tangled? Tried looking but didn't see it. Would love to see your reaction to that one
Type in Auzzie Dillon Tangled
@@ReelOzAussieDillon awesome thank you!
Fiona isn't really a character from an actual book. Her story is the one Shrek was reading in the opening, which was made up for this film.
... I don't know that Shrek *should* have kissed Fiona at the time he rescued her. They hadn't gotten to know each other yet, so I'm not so sure it would have done anything?
I know that Robin Williams played Peter pan not Robin hood. Not sure if he was in a Robin hood movie tho
I never appreciated this movie's soundtrack. 'Hallelujah' is one of my absolute favorite songs and I never knew so many great songs are in there. Guess it's not too late.
I got to say I have seen Shrek but it wasn’t a go to my opinion, I think another thing you should react to is finding Dory Ozzy doing to
You should watch the Shrek the musical
Please Can you react to "The mist"(2007)🙂
No Robin Williams is not in Robin Hood.. But he's amazing in the movie Hook about a different fairy tale/myth. Robin Hood movies... Disney's is a classic, then I also like Robin Hood Prince of Theives with Kevin Costner from the 90s, and can't leave out theMel Brooks comedy Robin Hood Men in Tights.
Hello i have suscribe and Like
