Machine learning will eventually, but certainly, be the downfall of FPS. Nearly impossible to detect. And regardless, they always have to catch up with new hacks, a cat and mouse game. Better to make harder punishments/bans, I'd say, like hardware, ips and account bans.
I think the only way to fully ban cheaters in games it to have the game companies and the internet providers make a deal to ban them from using their WiFi
This is a very alpha stage, even when the project is cancelled, you can always iterate over, since its machine learning you can fix it to detect, allies, animals nad depth of field to detect players that are far way, you made valid points but once you have computer vision hooked on, you can practically tell the computer to learn any possible pattern you can think of. The creator of this is pure genius. Creating an aimbot without actually creating one. He will dawn the downfall of FPS shooters. If he or she is smart; they will not go down without a fight.
I just feel genuinely sad that certain people in gaming communities need to go through all these troubles to cheat on video games just to have fun. This could affects more than first person shooters. Let’s say in fighting game if someone running an auto parry bot it would be near impossible to beat. If more of these are happening online gaming will be killed of. Or in the near future we will prefer playing games on dedicated server with friends.
Gaming isn’t to a point where people can be matched fairly with equal skill, that’s really the true problem. If you have lobbies filled with Bobos throwing grenades at their feet and jumping in circles they’ll be excited if they get one kill. Instead you have people dropping grenades in their pants on purpose so they can be put in lobbies to slaughter some poor overworked dad trying to unwind on a Friday night. Why? Because they wanna look good on Twitch. Have a true skill based matchmaking system and you won’t have vengeful idiots out for blood because their gaming time has been shit on for months.
This is actually completely undetectable, the only solution would be for developers to implement a behavioral anti-cheat that can differentiate legitimate controller input patterns from that of a pixel based aimbot or recoil macro. Given that a lot of developers are having trouble detecting traditional cheats that read and write to their game's memory stack on PC, I don't think that's going to happen.
Not only that, but there just isn’t enough time. They crank out too many of these titles for the devs to care. They finish vanguard and are probably working on the next CoD as I’m typing this. Once the new version comes out they really don’t care. And that’s when hacking runs WILD.
Fun fact, this kind of aimbot is way easier to build than that the one which uses memory reading/writing to get the coordinates at least for me, because... you dont have to do any memory reads so no process attachment no cheat engine bullshit so less detection vectors .
This would be amazing software to implement for physically disabled gamers. Imagine people with one arm, or no arms who use their feet for instance having this program. I believe the machine learning algorithms utilized in this program should instead be repurposed for the good of the community.

My hopes are not high for this, most companies are pretty notorious for not giving a damn about cheaters(such as EA and Respawn with Titanfall and Apex, Valve with Team Fortress 2, and Rockstar with GTA5), so if something like this evolves to become an undetectable, undefeatable menace, through having all the servers littered with cheaters and no way to escape by being on another platform, this could kill many fps games we know and love.
Thanks for breaking this down. But, I think you're missing how impactful this type of hack can be. Sure in the examples, players are close range and sometimes it fails detection but that red square is also a large surface area. If I were to cheat, I'd make that red square small in the center of the screen. Just enough to give that edge on top of my natural talent. That type of hack could turn an average gamer into a god. With enough doubt that no spectator or admin could judge accurately without a mouse or controller cam. And while you're mostly talking about COD, if it's just searching for bodies. This could then become a major issue in games that are built around close range fighting like CSGO or Valorant.
That’s a really good point because as long as you can centre an enemy the ai doesn’t have to fight to distinguish targets once your on them it’ll do the rest of the work at any range

People are definitely still using this on consoles no doubt about it … and it must have caught on pretty good now because now 75% of players aim sticks to other players and track them in a purely robotic manner … pretty sad that a great game like this has been destroyed by players that just plain suck at the game and need training wheels
I think the fact that it is as good as it is right now is scary, and the fact that it is based off of AI means it could be exponentially better very very quickly. It will eventually learn what a dead body looks like and in theory it could even learn what every map looks like so it would be able to tell if a player is there just based on it not matching up with the map. AI is a super scary powerful thing that grows in intelligence very quickly once it gets going.
There are two types of ML supervised and unsupervised learning. Supervised learning is AI already taught what to do and what not to do. Then the algorithm on the basis of that rule executes it's algorithm. Whereas Unsupervised learning the AI does not know anything but learns by trial and error. It takes long time to train and is computationally consuming.
Technically supervised learning is propably being used in this case as it is lightweight and assigning what to kill is only human like object IDK if it can discriminate between ally or enemy.

As he/she/they learn more they will be able to make the program better. It’s in its infancy right now it can only get better. If it is using unsupervised learning and they are able to connect everyone using the program similar to how Tesla is able to with their self driving it would learn way faster than any human could.
I know a personal circle of IT friends that have somewhat of a similar setup. They are nerds but don’t have the time to play and be gods like they used to. They want to be in fairly matched teams, but aren’t. Basically, SBMM is so broken that they chose to hack because it’s either get slaughtered, live on the game or hack. Most people quit after being slaughtered for so long. So you can imagine why so many people are cheating/hacking in SOME fashion.

using external devices to give an unfair advantage is against the tos. idk where you got the notion that any form of cheating could be allowed, cheating is cheating. cheats like this have existed for pc games for years now, mainly with rather stronger anticheats like valorant. nothing new.
Great video. You made a mistake at 2:38, the Cronus cannot detect anything other than input from the controller and vibration, it doesn't have computer vision, just simple macros. The "abusing" aim assist works by continuously moving the stick at a slow speed in a circle and it tricks the game into giving you the full moving aim assist which guides you to the target, it is doing nothing but small circles to get the better aim assist strength. Personally, I think it hinders your performance because it is taking over the direction of where you want to aim or what speed you need to move to a spot it changed so it's not as good as it looks in a standstill as much, depends. Computer vision could do a lot of cool things but this was just the most "broken" way to use it, like the other things you mentioned like detecting weapons. Macros are nowhere near as strong as this as now it as a sense of vision and not just "feeling" (vibration) that it can use, it is on a different level that's why the companies don't care much about macros, they're just assisting to make stuff easier, it won't play the game for you like in this example.
Companies can’t do anything about Cronus or strike pack because they mimic controller movements. Anti recoil just mimics pulling down your stick. There’s no way to detect it because it’s not altering game files or anything like actual hacks do. There’s no way to know whether a player is using a cronus or just pulling down their stick controlling recoil on their own.
@@DareZent Would it theoretically be possible for the game's client to demand access to user input data to figure out if there were some sort of alternative program sending raw data into the mouse? I understand that the device used for these hacks hide the link between the two systems as a generic device, but there must be some hole in all of this that a machine-learning anticheat could get inside of, if the game had enough access to the user's pc. But is a machine learning anticheat even possible? These cheats are so undetectable that nobody playing against them will ever be able to tell. The only way to catch this is on the hardware side, it's just too realistic.
@@wolfmayner6274 personally I don’t consider these things cheating they aren’t a threat. The real threats are actual aimbot and esp clients. Companies couldn’t gain the level of access to a users computer without breaking a privacy law or some legal matter.

People who have to choose to allow these companies full scope of their system, and most people won't put that kind of access into the hands of a company. But these bots are cheating, make no mistake. They snap to targets, that in and of itself makes it cheating. Put this in the hands of a player who's already good and you've got a nightmare bot on your hands.

Article just came out today about console hacks in warzone. Activision is actively shutting down RUclips videos talking about and promoting these hacks for console and shutting down websites selling it.
Good video breakdown. Think this is just the start. Proof of concept or beta and surely will get better over time. You're probably right that it won't be efficient in warzone, for now at least.
Hardware manufactures and game publishers at some point will go after these companies hard primarily because it affects their bottom line, but cheating is cheating and anyone who chooses to use cheats in online play is a complete failure.

today i played warzone, this is a litter of cheaters already in the old call of duty there were huge cheaters so every game died quickly. Another problem, however is that developers are not even paying attention to the anti-cheat system
one solution is that they make different profiles for weapons and it randomly switches whenever a match is started. it can tackle a bit the system. Detecting such devices also might help . Block the game forever has such a device connected to their pc.
Basically Homeless made a video on this and it doesn't look good Activision may have only bought some time, if a version can be developed where only a secondary pc with a GPU is needed, all hell will break loose. There are still hundreds of people out there with the files, in time we might see the flood gates crash open. And people have to keep in mind this isn't just for FPS, games, it can be adjusted, and adapted. You might have a Genshin Impact version made, or a For Honor version, or Star Wars Sq, with enough development, this could affect every game known to mankind. And that's a very scary thought...
Technology is reaching the point that a 10 year old will soon be able to operate a little handheld device that is capable of moving mountains. I mean, seriously, how insane is it that you could get this going at home? Slightly modify it to use input from a camera rather than a capture card. Slightly modify it to, instead of send inputs into a controller, operate an Arduino hooked up to a motor and a gun. Boom, AI turret. Wouldn't even be that hard. Absolutely insane...
What we do know is that it’s beneficial game manipulation from a third party developer. I’m not so happy to see this project going underway but I give props for this advancement.
I completely disagree that this won't be something to worry about. As you said, its very difficult for someone to notice this immediately, but in reality it speeds up your reactivity beyond what is even possible for a human, which I think is going to be especially bad in lower skill lobbies. At the end of the day what this cheat accomplishes is making you look like just an extremely skilled player. If its hard for you or any experienced gamer to notice, then casual gamers (the majority of C.O.D's player base) are never going to suspect anything.
I agree that it’s hard to notice. At first it looked like normal high sens gameplay to me. The cheat creator has been shut down, but I can see this reemerging through someone else, and that’s when I will begin to worry

What im really interested in is where the learning data comes from if u bought this cheat. Is it hardbaked or community generated? If community generated than an adverserial learning attack could be the solution.
Google released a dataset that can detect people in an image. I made a similar cheat to this a few years ago that’s what I used. Everything was too slow back then though

This would effect warzone. Anti recoil alone in warzone would be well OP for shooting players at long distance. Also this is still a very early version of the software. Give it a few months and it will be hugely improved. Onto of that if they can make these softwares for call of duty this is a huge leap for cheaters as this could happen with many games in the future.

Literally day one playing the game i got beamed by a person with no recoil, been going on the whole time...i will never purchase a shooter ever again, zero recoil = scam...besides that, they keep changing the game, gun is good, 3 days later gun is bad...controller vs pc was literally the dumbest thing they ever could have done, makes no sense to even play online, very unfair in general besides all the cheats...i quit pc to get away from cheaters, then console brings them back, waste of time and money period...cod does not even know how to make a BR, guns don't shoot straight, can't hip fire without making a setup, they can't even get the physics near correct, too busy adding things that make no sense or money grabs...weapon attatchments should not affect basic aim at all, perks kill the spirit of BR itself, the list goes on and on...pc ppl play using guns with no recoil, you got to be really bad to need crutches like that and everyone does it, but it's especially bad for pc players that already have all advantages...auto aim kills BR as well, as i said, cod can't make a decent BR that feels right.
I used the mod pack. Strictly for the anti recoil. Weapon A.I. is nice to have. I still suck for the most part lol. You know what your talking about tho homie. These don't re write game code just manipulates the movement. Only way to really use legit hacks is on PC. Or have someone put something on your console
I actually had this kind of idea in the past where an AI would only scan the screen and "assist" the person playing by shooting and aiming at the enemies. But there was one problem. I can't program and can't afford to pay a programmer to program it for me.

The only good reason I can see for people to use something like this is if they have a disability that makes it impossible to aim, and even then only in PvE games. Otherwise if you use this your just bad and don’t want to admit it.

How would you scan for players at long distance? That’s not a pattern you can record even with the most powerful computer.

People are definitely still using this on consoles no doubt about it … and it must have caught on pretty good now because now 75% of players aim sticks to other players and track them in a purely robotic manner … pretty sad that a great game like this has been destroyed by players that just plain suck at the game and need training wheels
I think the fact that it is as good as it is right now is scary, and the fact that it is based off of AI means it could be exponentially better very very quickly. It will eventually learn what a dead body looks like and in theory it could even learn what every map looks like so it would be able to tell if a player is there just based on it not matching up with the map. AI is a super scary powerful thing that grows in intelligence very quickly once it gets going.
There are two types of ML supervised and unsupervised learning. Supervised learning is AI already taught what to do and what not to do. Then the algorithm on the basis of that rule executes it's algorithm. Whereas Unsupervised learning the AI does not know anything but learns by trial and error. It takes long time to train and is computationally consuming.
Technically supervised learning is propably being used in this case as it is lightweight and assigning what to kill is only human like object IDK if it can discriminate between ally or enemy.
@@cun_0092 it was shown to be able to distinguish between the enemy and friend. And as far as I am aware it’s being developed by one person? Maybe a small team at most. As he/she/they learn more they will be able to make the program better. It’s in its infancy right now it can only get better. If it is using unsupervised learning and they are able to connect everyone using the program similar to how Tesla is able to with their self driving it would learn way faster than any human could.
I know a personal circle of IT friends that have somewhat of a similar setup. They are nerds but don’t have the time to play and be gods like they used to. They want to be in fairly matched teams, but aren’t.
Basically, SBMM is so broken that they chose to hack because it’s either get slaughtered, live on the game or hack.
Most people quit after being slaughtered for so long. So you can imagine why so many people are cheating/hacking in SOME fashion.

That is also a reason why lots of content creators reverse boost, not even content creators, just players in general

You made a mistake at 2:38, the Cronus cannot detect anything other than input from the controller and vibration, it doesn't have computer vision, just simple macros. The "abusing" aim assist works by continuously moving the stick at a slow speed in a circle and it tricks the game into giving you the full moving aim assist which guides you to the target, it is doing nothing but small circles to get the better aim assist strength. Personally, I think it hinders your performance because it is taking over the direction of where you want to aim or what speed you need to move to a spot it changed so it's not as good as it looks in a standstill as much, depends.
Computer vision could do a lot of cool things but this was just the most "broken" way to use it, like the other things you mentioned like detecting weapons. Macros are nowhere near as strong as this as now it as a sense of vision and not just "feeling" (vibration) that it can use, it is on a different level that's why the companies don't care much about macros, they're just assisting to make stuff easier, it won't play the game for you like in this example.

Companies can’t do anything about Cronus or strike pack because they mimic controller movements. Anti recoil just mimics pulling down your stick. There’s no way to detect it because it’s not altering game files or anything like actual hacks do. There’s no way to know whether a player is using a cronus or just pulling down their stick controlling recoil on their own.
They claim they can't do anything about this too because it's through a capture card so either way it's not manipulating game files

@@DareZent Would it theoretically be possible for the game's client to demand access to user input data to figure out if there were some sort of alternative program sending raw data into the mouse? I understand that the device used for these hacks hide the link between the two systems as a generic device, but there must be some hole in all of this that a machine-learning anticheat could get inside of, if the game had enough access to the user's pc. But is a machine learning anticheat even possible? These cheats are so undetectable that nobody playing against them will ever be able to tell. The only way to catch this is on the hardware side, it's just too realistic.
@@wolfmayner6274 personally I don’t consider these things cheating they aren’t a threat. The real threats are actual aimbot and esp clients. Companies couldn’t gain the level of access to a users computer without breaking a privacy law or some legal matter.
@@DareZent The access would have to be given on the user side. People who have to choose to allow these companies full scope of their system, and most people won't put that kind of access into the hands of a company.
But these bots are cheating, make no mistake. They snap to targets, that in and of itself makes it cheating. Put this in the hands of a player who's already good and you've got a nightmare bot on your hands.

Article just came out today about console hacks in warzone. Activision is actively shutting down RUclips videos talking about and promoting these hacks for console and shutting down websites selling it.
Good video breakdown. Think this is just the start. Proof of concept or beta and surely will get better over time. You're probably right that it won't be efficient in warzone, for now at least.
Hardware manufactures and game publishers at some point will go after these companies hard primarily because it affects their bottom line, but cheating is cheating and anyone who chooses to use cheats in online play is a complete failure.

today i played warzone, this is a litter of cheaters already in the old call of duty there were huge cheaters so every game died quickly. Another problem, however is that developers are not even paying attention to the anti-cheat system
I think the problem is that the cheat is virtually undetectable. The only way to detect it is by going to a persons house and looking at the device.

one solution is that they make different profiles for weapons and it randomly switches whenever a match is started. it can tackle a bit the system. Detecting such devices also might help . Block the game forever has such a device connected to their pc.
Basically Homeless made a video on this and it doesn't look good Activision may have only bought some time, if a version can be developed where only a secondary pc with a GPU is needed, all hell will break loose. There are still hundreds of people out there with the files, in time we might see the flood gates crash open. And people have to keep in mind this isn't just for FPS, games, it can be adjusted, and adapted. You might have a Genshin Impact version made, or a For Honor version, or Star Wars Sq, with enough development, this could affect every game known to mankind. And that's a very scary thought...

Technology is reaching the point that a 10 year old will soon be able to operate a little handheld device that is capable of moving mountains.
I mean, seriously, how insane is it that you could get this going at home? Slightly modify it to use input from a camera rather than a capture card. Slightly modify it to, instead of send inputs into a controller, operate an Arduino hooked up to a motor and a gun. Boom, AI turret. Wouldn't even be that hard. Absolutely insane...
What we do know is that it’s beneficial game manipulation from a third party developer. I’m not so happy to see this project going underway but I give props for this advancement.
I completely disagree that this won't be something to worry about. As you said, its very difficult for someone to notice this immediately, but in reality it speeds up your reactivity beyond what is even possible for a human, which I think is going to be especially bad in lower skill lobbies.
At the end of the day what this cheat accomplishes is making you look like just an extremely skilled player. If its hard for you or any experienced gamer to notice, then casual gamers (the majority of C.O.D's player base) are never going to suspect anything.

I thought I saw a video from timthetatman spectating a guy who they thought was cheating, but was a little lose one his aim. This one really looks like what was in the video.
What im really interested in is where the learning data comes from if u bought this cheat. Is it hardbaked or community generated? If community generated than an adverserial learning attack could be the solution.
Google released a dataset that can detect people in an image. I made a similar cheat to this a few years ago that’s what I used. Everything was too slow back then though

This would effect warzone. Anti recoil alone in warzone would be well OP for shooting players at long distance. Also this is still a very early version of the software. Give it a few months and it will be hugely improved.
Onto of that if they can make these softwares for call of duty this is a huge leap for cheaters as this could happen with many games in the future.

Literally day one playing the game i got beamed by a person with no recoil, been going on the whole time...i will never purchase a shooter ever again, zero recoil = scam...besides that, they keep changing the game, gun is good, 3 days later gun is bad...controller vs pc was literally the dumbest thing they ever could have done, makes no sense to even play online, very unfair in general besides all the cheats...i quit pc to get away from cheaters, then console brings them back, waste of time and money period...cod does not even know how to make a BR, guns don't shoot straight, can't hip fire without making a setup, they can't even get the physics near correct, too busy adding things that make no sense or money grabs...weapon attatchments should not affect basic aim at all, perks kill the spirit of BR itself, the list goes on and on...pc ppl play using guns with no recoil, you got to be really bad to need crutches like that and everyone does it, but it's especially bad for pc players that already have all advantages...auto aim kills BR as well, as i said, cod can't make a decent BR that feels right.
To prevent this they can't stop pc cheats and you want them to stop this console assist program that you say you are not worried about

I used the mod pack. Strictly for the anti recoil. Weapon A.I. is nice to have. I still suck for the most part lol. You know what your talking about tho homie. These don't re write game code just manipulates the movement. Only way to really use legit hacks is on PC. Or have someone put something on your console

I actually had this kind of idea in the past where an AI would only scan the screen and "assist" the person playing by shooting and aiming at the enemies. But there was one problem. I can't program and can't afford to pay a programmer to program it for me.
