    Bought this camera new in 2018 and loved it for slightly over a year until the aperture blades stuck. The EVF also failed and stopped working around the same time. Fujifilm repair customer service is absolutely horrible and could care less about repairing their failed products. It took about 2 years for them to finally tell me that it would cost $700 to fix. I wouldn't waste my money again on this camera new or used unless you want a good looking paper weight.

    I like the softer look in my X100F. The nostalgia takes me back to the days when I first started in film photography over 20 years ago.

    I got mine locally for $600 in 2020. Previous owner barely used it, it was brand new, extremely low shutter count, gave me a wrist strap, thumb grip, case, and extra battery. I had purchased a X100T a few months before for almost $600 on eBay. Which I ended up selling for close to $700.
    The X100F has become my favorite camera. I barely use my Lumix gear since I got it. I keep thinking about upgrading to the X100V because of the weather sealing and the peace of mind it would provide, but they are still expensive. Other than that, the X100F is a great camera.

      Nice! I'm still super weary of using the X100F for any type of inclement weather. Just tried out my A7IV for some street work and I think that'll be my go-to anytime there's a drizzle

      @@conthemar I live in the Caribbean, mostly sunny, but we go get thunderstorms from time to time. Only one of my cameras is weather sealed, but I've shot on a light drizzle with most of my cameras and haven't experienced any issues. If the rain picks up, the camera will go inside my Peak Design sling, which has been tried and proved under heavy rain.

      Can the x100f do the same film recipes as the 100v or no?

    • @moncho33
      @moncho33 2 года назад

      @@MrSodaBelly I think that most film simulation recipes can by done on both. Guess it will depend on the base film simulation needed. I know FujiXWeekly has several versions depending on the sensor used.

    Bought the X100F in 2020 brand new and love it! It’s definitely my EDC camera when I want to travel light, Wouldn’t change a thing!
    My only gripe is everytime I take battery out to charge I have to redo my settings. Apparently it’s a defect with a sensor that puts back the factory settings. Have yet to reach out to fuji, reading reviews of fuji customer service and it isn’t worth the money to fix. Have you heard of this issue and love the video !

      Is it worth it? I'm about to go on a trip to Hawaii and I'm debating on it or should I go with a Canon or Sony

    • @justcallmesando
      @justcallmesando 2 года назад +1

      @@ChandoraBox it all depends on your style and needs or what you expect from the camera. For me it's just perfect. It is a camera with great image quality and features in a very small package, and it also inspires me to take it out and shoot. The fact that it has a fixed lens takes away additional thoughts and decisions about what optic should I use. I just adjust my eye and mind on the universal 35mm focal length (full frame equivalent) and go out and shoot. I can also transfer the images to my smartphone if I want to share something fast or I can work on them further via Capture One or Lightroom.

    I’m thinking of a used x100 series instead so your vid was useful, thanks.

    After reading a few 100F(*) reviews, in my opinion, it is really not a good buy for the asking price VS performance, I'll wait for 2nd hand 100V, a far superior version at a good price. 100F for convenience and for being light and compact ok.
    An alternative so, buy a 2nd hand and E3 or even E4 or XT30 and put on a 23mm f2, overall Cheaper and has Better image quality. End of my quick summary.
    * the lens is soft at f2.0

    I had a canon point & shoot, it was left on the shelf most of the time, it is a great camera don't get me wrong, but I use a Eos r for my work, not having a viewfinder was a deal-breaker. I sold it and am now buying a x100f for about 650€. The prices are so high that even if I regret it, I can sell it right now on mpb for 725€

  • @Croquetfilm

    The pix look great, and the higher iso settings are good. Filmic look and great simulations. However, the EVF curtain stuck in the down position making it necessary to put gaffer tape over the viewfinder window to make the digital EVF work. Also simultaneously the shutter sounds failed and worse the manual focusing function broke as well. Fuji quoted $700 to repair, pretty outrageous. But I still use it all the time but I wish quality control was better.

    • @Croquetfilm

      Actually having the curtain stuck in the down position was lucky. Even worse is stuck half way as Naha happened with other people.

      I usually use Classic Chrome when composing my shots, but depending on the situation I go into Lightroom and change them up! I believe one of these was a Kodacolor simulation I got from Fuji Weekly! fujixweekly.com/2019/07/19/my-fujifilm-x-t30-kodacolor-film-simulation-recipe/
