    Well done Mark on the disconnect procedure. I’d still recommend leaving any 230 volt work the the trained experts. Keep the videos coming please.

    Nice little video on changing tow hitch pads BUT! Do not like your idea of silicone or Vaseline for the O ring. IF, a very big IF, lube is needed it should be VERY VERY VERY small. Like the walk throughs though.

      They normally just have 2 screw at the front, them may be rivets through gas box, or just adhesive to chassis. 👍

    My big gas ring only stays on the low flame setting no matter how much I twist the control knob. Any ideas? The other 2 smaller rings work as they should go from low to high as I turn the knobs. Could there not be enough gas getting to the big ring or another issue?
    Also your wife with the maths debate comment ;-) 😉 had me in stitches

    • @thecaravanplace
      @thecaravanplace  Год назад

      It will need a clean, we will have to do a video about it as you need to strip the ring down. Then use a cleaner and small needle to clean the jet.

    • @thecaravanplace
      @thecaravanplace  Год назад +1

      It has to be a commercial vehicle, but shouldn't be towed on the roads. 👍 our VW T5 had no issues just moving it around.

    • @ashhammond
      @ashhammond Год назад +1

      1:21 I don’t think commercial vehicle is correct. For example, a Ford Ranger or Transit is classed as commercial on the V5 but still restricted to 3.5 tonnes and therefore 7m in length max towing. I think it should be a category C vehicle.

      It’s a pity they don’t stop manufacturing altogether. I Had two brand new twin axle Senators and both were useless. The first one lasted two years before they brought it back from me and the second one went back to the factory every year to have new front and rear panels. There customer service could not care less as they refused to talk to me when I questioned their build quality. I am not alone with this.

    Only "Merch" you should do is maybe mugs, floor mat, jockey wheel/hitch covers. Don't bother with clothing as EVERYONE on youtube is doing that, maybe caravan accessories with your logo on it would sell well! Just an idea🤔

      Great car's Geoff, we had a xc90 didn't miss a beat with our 1400kg caravan. One word of warning would be to check what weight the one your looking at can actually tow, because they have no separate chassis like a pick up or landrover towing weight is a lot lower

    • @geoffwilletts4683

    Go grey with the top locker (not much in the way of options really). Never mess about with electrics unless qualified. 9 times out of 10 it'll be a fuse so that's your 1st port of call. Bailey retreat willow that you have there was the 4 berth version that weighed a collosal 2167 kg when laden with the 6 berth sycamore weighing over 100 kg more. The retreat models were showcased at the NEC in 2012 and were built solely for static seasonal purposes, only for them to be discontinued after 2013 due to lack of demand. Also the build quality was poor with numerous damp issues coming up through the floor areas . I for one would never buy an ex seasonal van due to it undoubtedly having heavy use.
