My favorite part " I really don't care what you think. It's a great guitar and I'm going to play it" I think this sums up the source of all great music.
Anybody complaining about playing blues on a PRS should be referred to Robben Ford 🙂 After years of wanting one, I finally got a DGT last month and I´m absolutely blown away with the guitar. Congratulations on an amazing guitar!
a different guitar only distracts you from playing the same and being repetitive. A different guitar also brings out a different player and enhances your creativity. cheers
PRS is my go-to now. My 594 does everything a Les Paul can do, while staying in tune, being much higher quality and I get to feel good about the company that makes it. I just added a DGT to my collection this week and wow, what a guitar! I now understand why everyone goes on about the neck shape, it's amazing. And I love the placement of the volume knob. It's a keeper for sure.
I've always been a "Gibson guy"...I played a McCarty 594, and I was sold. It's the best guitar I've ever played. It has nothing that irks me, it's just so comfortable to play, sounds amazing, and I actually play better using it. My Gibsons have been slowly getting sold off... That DGT is stunning and sounds beautiful!
One thing I appreciate about YT, it introduces me to so many great players I would otherwise never discover. Thanks for showing off this beautiful instrument.
You made a really GREAT purchase. The instrument sounds fantastic! The pickups are AWESOME and the woods are FABULOUS! You’re 100% right about the quality of PRS guitars.
That's the thing the PRS guitars are so dialled in. PRS have there own thing going and they really have a good quality model for everyone. What a lovely Instrument.
I have owned a DGT for over a decade and let me say from the getgo that in my opinion no one makes a guitar with the consistent quality of a PRS guitar. The initial circumstances of my purchase meant that I didn't really have a chance to play the DGT and "bond" with it. Consequently I was not 100% taken with the sound. I found it a bit too sharp and trebly, I couldn't get that creamy jazz sound. I decided to take the treble bleed caps out of circuit and suddenly it was there, the sound I was looking for from this guitar. Recently I decided to change the volume control for the neck pickup to one with and pushpull option to switch the treble bleed caps in and out to suit. Heaven! Now I can do Nile Rogers or Clapton at the "flick" of a switch. Highly recommend this mod.
Funny. Great minds, I am thinking of similar options. David plays with a darker tone so the treble bleeds really work for him. I’m not used to them but it’s an easy fix and great you didn’t throw the baby out with the bath water.
@@JeffMcErlain the good part is one is not doing something that can't be reversed. Heads up: I had to find some steel washers as the hole for the standard volume pot is much bigger than the hole needed for the pushpull pot. No big deal though.
Wow, what a beautiful guitar! Finding an instrument that speaks to you and inspires you is an awesome thing...Congrats, Jeff! Looking forward to hearing where it takes you!!!
My experience with PRS: I am one of the 200 who got a Robben Ford signature … and brought it back for sale after owning it for a few months. Luckily no one picked it up and I took it back last week. So it had chosen me and just coming back from a gig I feel it teaches me to play .-) These guitars play perfectly and have the utmost quality standards. I will take it as it sounds and how I get along with it. Gibson Murphy's and Fender Master Builds are much more layers' guitars these days than any PRS … and Paul is certainly one of the most innovative guys in the community.
This isn’t just a beautiful guitar, it is stunning to look at and hear. Also a lot of that is your playing as well. Technically you are brilliant but you have feel and that beats everything else. Good points here about guitars in general. Play what you love and play a guitar that inspires you to play. Period. I am going to look very seriously at the SE DGT which is coming to stores hopefully soon. It may end my search for the perfect guitar for me. Great content as always!
I had a PRS "find" me as well. I was recently gifted (long story), a 97' Santana model. I've never owned a PRS guitar before and I am surprised by how much I like it. It isn't a guitar I see myself spending over 4k for, but have to agree they are incredibly well made and highly playable. There are so many stigmas associated with playing guitar that I agree, you simply have to not give a shit about what anyone thinks; play the music and guitars you love and you'll find your audience.
Awesome DGT Jeff! I currently own 4 PRS Core models. I 100% agree with you that PRS QC is second to none! They are amazing instruments! As far as Guitars go(IMHO) if it makes' you happy and inspires you to play more , stays in tune and is intonated well then it really doesn't matter what the name on the head stock is.
zososhep, agree completely. See my msg (above?). I have 3 core and 1 SE and they are about all I play. Unless something demands single coil. I don't have an SS. Enjoy your PRS'. I know you will
The thing that finally sold me on PRS (being in the "Its for lawyers/doctors" camp) is thinking about how when in the middle of a ripping solo, your band mates turn to look at u, and they dont see that, they just see their guitar player playing awesome licks on a crazy awesome/beautiful looking guitar, and i think that pays a lot of respect to the music u are playing, it elevates and inspires everyone in the band, not just u. Ever since i had that realization, it made sense.
I never watched Jeff until now and he is spot on with several things in this video. The weight thing. The fact that PRS’s quality control is so tight that they all sound alike without much variance from guitar to guitar. And the thing about us wanting the prs to BE a Fender or a Gibson is true.
I have a first-year (08) DGT with a 10 top. It's heavy, at 9.5 lbs. I won't part with it. Being a bassist, the weight-with the proper strap-is no problem. It's a beast! I also have an '07 Singlecut Trem with a 10 top. About 9 lbs. It moves more when I play, being lighter, and sounds brighter and less dense. It also sounds fantastic. Both are impeccably built and play very well. I have two other PRS guitars-a Studio and a McCarty hardtail. The DGT I would keep if I could only have one, hands down. It just wails. Nice vid, Jeff. Man, I love your playing.
As the lucky owner of a 50s strat, 50s 335 and 50s les paul, i can honestly say that although they all sound amazing (for all the lnown reasons), there is still room in my arsenal for my PRS. It has its own voice, and to be honest, its playability is unmatched. Spent years not having any interest in the idea of having a PRS. So many misconceptions were shattered when i finally picked one up.
I’ve played soooo many Les Pauls and other SGs and never played one that inspired me. I sold them all, found a nice PRS custom 22 with an all rosewood neck, put 58/15LT pickups in it… and I finally fount a 2 humbuckers guitar that inspires me.
Congrats Jeff, beautiful Guitar, fantastic sounding. As a traditional player i let Prs for many years at the side. Tryed one, giving a chance I was so surprised and fell in love with. Now having 4 core, it‘s for me the best working and most inspiring guitars i played. I dont care what people think or say it’s my instrument that works for me. Great guitars, high quality, fine sounding. Still love Fender and Gibson, but I find my way to PRS. And honestly if you compare a Silversky against a Strat….😅. I think come on people 60 years of Instruments without any Innovation. The old guys played what was avaiable. Ofc PRS wasnt there, and now, how cares. Play what works for you, it‘s like a pen that help uns to play and wright music, nothing else. It‘s not the brand at the end of the headstock, it‘s a human player with his instrument. Love the sound you are creating with your Guitar. Cool you have chosen your instrument, that have spoken to you, unregarding the brand. I love my PRSes.
Been preaching that same thing for decades! You’re 100% correct, prs has found a unique niche between the polar, traditional makes…. I have found that they’re not for me personally, but there’s no arguing that they are fantastic instruments. Gear-head for life!
I love my PRS SE custom 24. Best ~$8xx I’ve spent on a guitar. I’m an old man (64) who’s been playing since 9th grade, gig maybe 4 times a year. Looks great and amazing action. I’ve got a telecaster and Schecter Corsair as well, practice on the Corsair as the action is a little higher and have to fight it a bit more but then the PRS is like playing without strings at all.
Congratulations, that's a beautiful guitar! My fourth PRS is a DGT. I started out with Strats and Teles for a few years. The first PRS I bought was a CU22, still have it. Played it almost exclusively for 10 years. Next came the 594, awesome guitar and played it about 3 years. Next was the Silver Sky, great guitar but just never bonded with it. Then came the DGT and I haven't looked back in the last couple years. The neck is perfect, it did take a minute to get use to the large frets. Tremolo is perfect. Pickups have so many sound options, they do all I want to hear. Let the critics rag on PRS, I don't care and don't really care to play anything else. Just caught a Grissom show at the Saxon Pub in Austin and had him sign the electronics cover plate on my DGT, so it isn't going anywhere! I look forward to hearing the DGT in more of your videos!
I’ve had several PRS and by far my favourite was the DGT which I STILL regret selling :-(. The Vela was my go to clean sounding guitar for a long time and really helped me progress. For me PRS build is second to none. I gigged one for a few years and it never went out of tune - great work horses which most people don’t ‘get’. I couldn’t care about the image at my age, fool anyone who dismisses them from an image perspective. I’ve only just moved on to Japanese made Tom Quale Ibanez which, like you, simply spoke to me in the store and I wasn’t even interested in before. Enjoy !
What I love about PRS, is their QC at every level of guitar they offer... The duds are very minimal and expected, however more often than not, their guitars are expertly made and designed; core and SE alike! Good Vibes Paul! I will add that my DAngelico Excel SS with Kent A pups is also top tier❤ Great episode Jeff M! 😎
That guitar looks amazing, although I think the main attraction of this video is the piece you play at the end, “Marta”. Wonderful. Don’t know who she is, but that is one beautiful composition she inspired. Thank you for sharing (the story of the guitar AND your music)!
Beautiful guitar Jeff. I love PRS and have a few of the more budget friendly SEs, and the quality is still great to me. Yes, I don't worry about it not being a 'blues guitar' either. Looking forward to the DGT SE coming out this month I believe.
when i picked up playing again 13 years ago (after a hiatus of 2 decades) it was a PRS singlecut.....as you say....NO issues and good quality.....but then i got my strat and tele again....(with their "issues")....next will be a LP style...not shure if it will be a Gibson or Tokai....we shall see..love your new PRS....looks terrific......
I LOVE that DGT, Jeff! It sounds fantastic. Can't wait to hear it live. I really love Paul's guitars. I met Dave Grissom at one of Rudy's PRS nights downtown and we had a great chat about the guitars. I bought a new SC-58 shortly after with 57/08 pickups (2012). It's my favorite guitar next to my '73 335 with original T-Tops.
@@JeffMcErlain I really enjoyed chatting with him. Your talks with Dave Grissom and Matt Schofield are some of my favorite videos to watch. Always informative and surprising. Funny too! Hope to see you out soon!
I just bought a private stock that has the 85/15LT PCI pickups and damn do they sing. I just can't believe the sounds it is capable of by simply rolling the volume pot or going to the 2/4 position. Crazy good. Same neck as yours in terms of finish and I love the ease of play.
Congrats on finding an inspiring instrument. That's not an easy endeavor. I had a '97 McCarty DC for 10 years. I dug it's feel and it did sound good. Something was missing for me. A member of a forum I belong to brought his, first year, '08 DGT Gold Top over to try some of my amps. This was in '08. I played the DGT and dug the tone of that bridge pickup sound. I'm not a trem player but, had to search for those pickups used. I found a '08 set of DGT pickups for sale in early '09. Snatched 'em up and put 'em in my McCarty. Boom, I was now truly inspired. I played that McCarty for several years after as my #1. That's coming from a Gibson lifer. Well, became a single dad of my teenage daughter after divorcing my wife. Most of my gear had to be let go to help support my daughter. That McCarty w/DGT pickups was lost. There are only 4 guitars I parted with in my 56 years that I really want back. The '97 McCarty is one of 'em. Today, my two #1s are both Gibson SGs. A Junior and a Standard '61 model. The only thing about many PRS guitars that turn me off is "too much bling". That's all. BTW, I got my first PRS in '91. Well before the internet informed us all what's good or not! lol Cheers Jeff. 🍻
The great thing about gear is it’s just gear. You can always get new stuff and in that weed out what you didn’t need. You did right by your daughter and were a good man and father. It’s in the hands and that is in you. And I love SG’s
Just bought my first PRS since I first saw them in 1990. 2005 SE Soapbar II. Figured it was time to see what all the fuss was about. Nah, it gets great reviews and it's two P90's so it's automatically good. Beautiful guitar bud! And you are right. You bought it. You play it. Anyone else can just .... off. Best Regards and Best Wishes for 2023!
I own 2 core McCarty 594s, a single cut and a Hollowbody II, both great guitars. The 58/15 pickups are great, the necks feel nice, vintage pattern, a little chunky but not too big. The build quality is spot on and is truly a work of art. That being said, I have to be in the right mindset for some reason. It’s like they’re too clean and shiny for just any gig.
@@JeffMcErlain For sure. I love my PRS 509 Ten Top and the PRS CE I have is fun for something different. But I find going back to my custom shop Strat is hard to beat. Reason for having several guitars!😄
That guitar is beautiful. Gibson might get too much hate for the problems they have, but PRS doesn't get enough credit for making amazing instruments. Look at that thing.
Great looking *and* sounding DGT. I think what USA PRS guitars have in common is that they have a very even frequency response over all strings and positions, so they sound very hi-fi.
Absolutely love my DGT. It’s something unique from the Gibson and Fender vibes, but the DGT still has a vintage vibe. David knows tone and I’d love to hear what his DG30 amp is like
Wow, what an amazing guitar. Just got my first PRS too. It’s just an SE, but it feels great and it’s my daily player now plus looks amazing. I hesitated from getting one too, for similar reason, thinking “I already have a guitar that does that” but it truly is it’s own animal.
@@JeffMcErlain thank you Jeff!! Yep, it’s my “daily driver” now 😁 And thanks for all the content you provide, by the way. Your instructional material and guitar videos are a huge benefit for us all. Take care 🙏
I have a 2011 DGT and a 2015 Custom 24 . Both are better than my Les Pauls and SG. I love having 24 frets on the C24, it is also a unique “fat back” model meaning it’s the same thickness as the DGT and thicker than other C24s. It’s pickups sound really good, but my DGT has the sweetest, best sounding, pick ups I have ever heard. Every time I have not played it for a while and pick it up I can’t help but smile when I hear those bell-like, chimey, pickups.
Great story Jeff… Its beautiful!… I just ordered the cheapy SE gold version which amazingly enough is about 6 mnths backordered… I’ve always been a strat guy & who knows.., maybe I’ll end up selling 2 or 3 of my guitars and getting a core version… Thanks for the video..I found it inspiring ✌🏻
I just bought a PRS 24 Standard aaaand I love it!!! I also own a D'angelico SS premier, Squire Jazzmaster , Les Paul, a modified Squire Strat and I find that the PRS does have a different sound all it's own on top of the comfortability of holding it when sitting and standing, super light compared to my other guitars and yes it is inspiring but so are all of my other options.
Congratulations! I love my PRS Custom 24. I've got other guitars, but it's my #1. Basically, I don't have to fight it. It just gives me what I want and stays out of the way.
Why does it have to be one guitar versus the other they all have their own personalities like children like people. They all can be loved for what they bring as individuals to the creative world. I personally started out on les Paul’s. I was at a gig the guitar player became ill. The band leader asked me if I would play. The guitar Available was a strat fell in love from the first note. I recently had a opportunity to play a Mark T Artist series, PRS. is everything you said it was and more. Like the human race, so many great guitars they all have a place in the world. Rock And Roll on.
I have had several PRS that I bought and sold because they never spoke to me. Until I bought a PRS Singlecut Modern Eagle 1. I now am fortunate to own 2 which I will never sell. They speak to me every time I play them.I have never played a DGT but looking forward to trying one. Congrats on your beautiful DGT!
Cool. Yeah I think it’s this way for any manufacturer or guitar. You have to find the one! The DGT’s are excellent spec wise for me too. Congratulations on your guitar as well!
@@JeffMcErlain I totally agree - it’s that way with any guitar builder which make the hunt so fun and rewarding when you find the right guitar. I saw David at the Saxon Pub in Austin several weeks ago and what I would like to buy is his magic touch and extensive knowledge.
@@jeremyversusjazz For Sure! I had a front row table which is like 5 feet from him. I checked the date and it was actually December 6th. He had a young kid playing drums that was amazing along with bass and Keyboards. I didn’t catch their names but as you can imagine top notch musicians.
Don't ever let thet one get away Jeff - unless it's to me! That's a killer DGT right there. I've had a few, std, artist, they have all been great - but I always come back to my 08 clownburst, just feels like home.
@JeffMcErlain Phenomenal sounds in this video. What was your signal chain? I have a Custom 24, and a 594 (that is now my favorite guitar), and I have been considering adding a DGT; do you think it will fit comfortably with the 594 as far as playability and sound?
The DGT may just be PRS' best offering, all the details add up, the bigger frets and thicker strings, the neck carve, the pickups, the dual volume controls, the split sounds... If I could take only 1 guitar to a rehearsal / gig, it would be my DGT Standard (all mahogany).
Beautiful tone and playing Jeff. I have to agree with you...the older I get the less I care what people think lol, but also - PRS in my experience has the most consistent build quality. I've been in savings mode because my next guitar is a DGT. Thank you for another great video.
Congratulations Jeff! Its so important that the guitars you spend your time and emotions with really "speaks" to you! And your playing shows it! I for myself tried several times now to understand what PRS Guitars try to say to me - but finally I gave it up to listen, because they don´t catch me. I really tried to force conversations on them, but they didn´t answer in the way I would like it. Maybe to perfect for me... Anyway - have fun! Greetings from Germany!
One nice thing about the consistency of PRS guitars is the odds of getting an excellent *used* one from an online source are pretty good. I got a nice flamey 2009 DGT for approximately $2100. Light, comfortable, great action, and really awesome when plugged in.
Thanks Jeff, enjoyed that video. It’s interesting as from time to time I have looked at PRS, obviously heard them played many times and love the idea of them, in particular your model. The times I have played them in store I never felt good enough to benefit from them, nice to watch you playing one. I’ll keep trying them out from time to time
Wow. That's a beauty. Robben Ford, John McLaughlin and, well David Grissom play PRS, so that would be my answer to the snobs out there. Congratulations
I've "nearly" bought a PRS so many times over the years but never quite got THAT connection. Today I'd love a DGT but honestly a lot of the finishes look a bit like furniture to my eye and I can't stand book-match tops that don't match across the join - that one you have is possibly the best looking DGT I've ever seen . Sounds ok too in your hands😜
I have one of the original (2nd year maybe...) McCarty models that I fell in love with. (The older coil-tap is nowhere near as great as the newer versions though). That said, I've purchased a PRS SE 277 baritone to fill that sonic gap in my tool kit, then a PRS SE Paul's Guitar. Amazing guitars at a price that allows me to play the heck out of them without the feeling that I need to be "as careful" with them. I have never liked "Relic'd" guitars and like to take care of all of my instruments..... but if one gets a little "ding" I would prefer that "ding" to occur on a more affordable guitar.... 1/3 the price of the American equivalent. They are tools for me... and the PRS guitars, regardless of country of origin, work very well for me. That one's a beauty! I may be looking for one of the new SE DGT models after they've been out for a while....and maybe find a return or demo model! Love to save money when adding tools to my kit.
Have to agree that the DGT was the first PRS that I really liked. I owned a custom 24 and never bonded with it and sold.. the other that I really love is the PRS Special which I own.
I have a PRS SE DGT on order. Need to wait till April. Also have the SE Standard 24 and SE Pauls guitar. Love them. Just need to learn to play them. 🤣🤣🤣
Hi Jeff! After playing so many years with a heavy right hand and too much pressure on my left hand, I realized that almost all the players I dig (including you in my top 5 list) play with the opposite strategy. If this is something you consider relevant to note, it would be great to have a video showing how to achieve that and to take advantage with it. Beautiful guitar, but anyway the tone is great mainly because you are not ruining it with your picking hand.
Hey! Thank you. That is an excellent video topic that I will definitely do. It is very important, I used to play really hard on both hands and had to work to sort it out. Economy picking really helped me. Thank you for the idea. 🙏🏻
PRS guitars are fantastic - but I have never really bonded with the neck profiles. I am a Gibson guy when it comes to neck shape, and I also like a nice Tele. But the PRS neck shapes are different and not my thing. You new DGT is gorgeous and I hope you enjoy it for years to come.
I agree on the neck shape thing. At first the thought the DGT neck was overly scrawny, but it’s growing on me, and thumb-over chords and double stops are a breeze.
HI Fabulous guitar Jeff you were talking about "ideal" weight I have the possibility of having one at 7.46 lbs and another at 8.2 lbs both new but I haven't had the opportunity to try them on Better to take the light one or the 8.2 lbs one for the sound (if that has an influence) best regards
I'm kind of 'Brand Agnostic'. I have a Strat that I absolutely love. I have an inexpensive Les Paul that is great. I also own a DGT...An '08 Mahogany Standard in Seafoam. It's the guitar I play most often. There's just something about it that makes me want to pick it up. Really great video, Jeff. Thanks for posting this.
That is an absolutely stunning guitar Jeff, congrats. Wow...I could easily fall in love with that. I have a PRS S2 Custom 24 that I must say has impressed the hell out of me and now GAS just wants me to upgrade to something like this DGT ;-)
Two things: 1. the guitar sounds great, looks really good and, if all the other PRSes that I've played are any indication, it plays amazing. So enjoy. 2. Growing up too many great guitars were sold to buy something somebody else thought was cool. I should have never cared what those guys thought about my guitar, and you shouldn't either Jeff!
I have a wood library CU 24 58/15 pups, roasted maple (unfinished) neck. It sounds amazing and different from anything else that I own so it is inspiring sonically and it’s inspiring to look at it’s a beautiful emerald green finish. That’s a beauty you have Jeff congratulations!
That's a beautiful guitar, Jeff. Congrats! I've never played a bad PRS. They don't speak to me in the same way my Suhrs do, but if I was looking for something different, they would certainly be a brand I'd consider.
I had no idea there was any controversy surrounding PRS guitars. That seems kinda silly to me. It's a gorgeous guitar that sounds amazing. And you play it well enough to get a hell of a lot out of it. When I get as good as you, I'm getting one! And I agree with the way GAS can distract us. I have spent a lot of time watching guitar/gear videos that would have been better spent watching your Truefire lessons, of which I have plenty...
My favorite part " I really don't care what you think. It's a great guitar and I'm going to play it" I think this sums up the source of all great music.
Thanks Steve!! Hope you are well!

Hater gonna hate. Some people think you have to rip on a super cheap guitar to be a guitar hero. PRS are for guitar players.

Congratulations Jeff! You are right, the DGT has such a wonderful clarity about it. I can see why you had to have it.👍
Thanks. David’s got such great ears.
Excellent!!
Thanks! Exactly what you said!!
Cant help but keep coming back to hear some super fine playing on an amazing DGT. So good. Cant wait to see more of you playin this one!

Been preaching that same thing for decades! You’re 100% correct, prs has found a unique niche between the polar, traditional makes….
I have found that they’re not for me personally, but there’s no arguing that they are fantastic instruments.
Gear-head for life!
Hey man! Right tool for the job!
Oh, and I’ve got a bunch of your TrueFire courses, they’re all great. Love the channel, thanks for the inspiration
Thank you so much for letting me know and for being here. I really appreciate it!
Thanks for being here!!!
Enjoy !

That PRS is SICK! Congrats Jeff.....she's a beaut!
Thanks!!
What I love about PRS, is their QC at every level of guitar they offer...
The duds are very minimal and expected, however more often than not, their guitars are expertly made and designed; core and SE alike! Good Vibes Paul!
I will add that my DAngelico Excel SS with Kent A pups is also top tier❤
Great episode Jeff M! 😎
Nice!!!
That guitar looks amazing, although I think the main attraction of this video is the piece you play at the end, “Marta”. Wonderful. Don’t know who she is, but that is one beautiful composition she inspired. Thank you for sharing (the story of the guitar AND your music)!
Thank you very much, that means a great deal to me. 🙏🏻She hopefully lives on in the song and is terribly missed.
@@JeffMcErlainI love your song Marta! Do you have tab / music for it?
This is EXACTLY what I want. Outstanding video. I’ll also look up your shop. I’m not far from the NJ border.
Beautiful guitar Jeff. I love PRS and have a few of the more budget friendly SEs, and the quality is still great to me. Yes, I don't worry about it not being a 'blues guitar' either. Looking forward to the DGT SE coming out this month I believe.
Yeah I think those will be awesome.
when i picked up playing again 13 years ago (after a hiatus of 2 decades) it was a PRS singlecut.....as you say....NO issues and good quality.....but then i got my strat and tele again....(with their "issues")....next will be a LP style...not shure if it will be a Gibson or Tokai....we shall see..love your new PRS....looks terrific......

Thanks James!! David’s the best. Hope to play it out soon and see you there as always. And it’s always appreciated. 🙏🏻
That’s great !
Yes I agree. They are tools and I probably would always bring a Strat to a blues gig. If it were a rock gig, this is perfect.
Beautiful guitar! Love the quilt. I agree I’ve played a lot of PRS guitars and they are great but different for sure.
Thanks. Yes all excellent build wise but like all guitars, they sound different.
Ha! Yeah agreed!
Great looking *and* sounding DGT.
I think what USA PRS guitars have in common is that they have a very even frequency response over all strings and positions, so they sound very hi-fi.
Beautiful looking and sounding guitar. Congrats Jeff !!
Thanks my friend!
Congratulations! The SEs are excellent guitars glad you are putting it to good use.
👊💥
Congratulations on another fabulous instrument! I have a PRS custom 22 that I have worn the finish off the neck because I'm inspired to play it often.
Thank you Jeffrey!
Great story Jeff…
Its beautiful!…
I just ordered the cheapy SE gold version which amazingly enough is about 6 mnths backordered…
I’ve always been a strat guy & who knows.., maybe I’ll end up selling 2 or 3 of my guitars and getting a core version… Thanks for the video..I found it inspiring ✌🏻
Nice. Yes it’s about the options.
Congratulations! I love my PRS Custom 24. I've got other guitars, but it's my #1. Basically, I don't have to fight it. It just gives me what I want and stays out of the way.

Congrats Jeff, beautiful guitar. My DGT is a lifer!!
Thanks man. And you sound great playing it.
@@DannyBrooks1 that's the venue to see DG--up close and loud! was he playing with my old friend and monster layer, carter Arrington on second guitar?

Outstanding playing.
Thank you. 🙏🏻
You are welcome! I had to leverage some stuff to pull this off!
One of the prettiest DGTs I’ve ever seen! Love the neck and the top. Is that Dark Cherry Burst?
Congratulations Jeff! Its so important that the guitars you spend your time and emotions with really "speaks" to you!
And your playing shows it!
I for myself tried several times now to understand what PRS Guitars try to say to me - but finally I gave it up to listen, because they don´t catch me.
I really tried to force conversations on them, but they didn´t answer in the way I would like it. Maybe to perfect for me...
Anyway - have fun!
Greetings from Germany!
I understand this feeling. What I really like is that having some fenders and Gibsons it nice to have something super refined for when I want that.

One nice thing about the consistency of PRS guitars is the odds of getting an excellent *used* one from an online source are pretty good. I got a nice flamey 2009 DGT for approximately $2100. Light, comfortable, great action, and really awesome when plugged in.
Score!!
Gorgeous guitar. Just discovered your channel and I’m digging it!
Welcome aboard!
Thanks Jeff, enjoyed that video. It’s interesting as from time to time I have looked at PRS, obviously heard them played many times and love the idea of them, in particular your model. The times I have played them in store I never felt good enough to benefit from them, nice to watch you playing one. I’ll keep trying them out from time to time
I understand!
that intro song... damn. MORE PLEASE. That is a great sounding and looking guitar.
Stay tuned…😉
Wow. That's a beauty. Robben Ford, John McLaughlin and, well David Grissom play PRS, so that would be my answer to the snobs out there. Congratulations
Right!?!
Wonderful sounding and looking instrument, congrats Jeff 👍

Have to agree that the DGT was the first PRS that I really liked. I owned a custom 24 and never bonded with it and sold.. the other that I really love is the PRS Special which I own.

I have a PRS SE DGT on order. Need to wait till April. Also have the SE Standard 24 and SE Pauls guitar. Love them. Just need to learn to play them. 🤣🤣🤣
Well there is that part… l lol
Lovely outro playing - bravo.
Thank you. One of my tunes called “Marta”.
Try the DGT if you haven’t. Narrower than the other models.
I agree on the neck shape thing. At first the thought the DGT neck was overly scrawny, but it’s growing on me, and thumb-over chords and double stops are a breeze.
I just picked up a PRS P22 that sounds amazing. The piezo sounds as good as a plugged in Martin
Great guitars!
HI
Fabulous guitar Jeff
you were talking about "ideal" weight
I have the possibility of having one at 7.46 lbs and another at 8.2 lbs
both new but I haven't had the opportunity to try them on
Better to take the light one or the 8.2 lbs one for the sound (if that has an influence)
best regards
I'm kind of 'Brand Agnostic'. I have a Strat that I absolutely love. I have an inexpensive Les Paul that is great. I also own a DGT...An '08 Mahogany Standard in Seafoam. It's the guitar I play most often. There's just something about it that makes me want to pick it up.
