    I've always been an advocate for other people, someone people can go to for advice, but as soon as I go to someone else for advice (very rare) they don't understand me or they don't understand where I'm coming from.

    • @ispeakpeople
      @ispeakpeople  7 лет назад +13

      Kaylee, that's definitely one of the biggest frustrations for most INFJs, hands down. So tough and frustrating. I can relate.

    • @misskayleebugs
      @misskayleebugs 7 лет назад +15

      It sucks, but it's made me more independent but sometimes you just need someone to lean on. A lot of people don't even know how to deal with upset people to. They use the "I told you so" approach and that never works. An upset person doesn't want to hear "Well I told you so" the fact is is what's done is done and all I need is support, I did what was right in the moment and usually my intuition is correct and in the long run I never regret doing anything I thought was right at the time.

    • @ispeakpeople
      @ispeakpeople  7 лет назад +6

      You're right: sometimes someone to lean is the best medicine, and the "I told you so" approach is seldom helpful.

    I've known that I am an INFJ for a few years years now. It explained a lot why I am the way I am. The one thing I've noticed is that INFJ people seem to attract users. People who will manipulate you because they know you are a giving and caring person ready to jump in and help. Unfortunately my INFJ intuition failed me sometimes on this, mostly because my heart overtakes it. I've been burnt a few times because of it. Now I'm more aware of my intuition.

    • @dseer13
      @dseer13 6 лет назад +10

      Just realize that there is a thin line between people pleasing and helping others, and the separation between yourself and what you feel. Please. Or you will still keep attracting users, abusers and narcissists until you learn how to do this.

    • @darvit4788
      @darvit4788 6 лет назад +8

      I agree completely. One of the Users I tended to attract is Narcissistic Sociopaths. :( However, now that I know I'm INFJ, everything makes sense to me now and I am bent on taking better care of myself while trying to "save the world".

      An understanding of human nature helped me out with that. Now I see the snakes before they can even get close. Oh and also understanding that coincidences are very rare and should be made note of.

    • @33Jenesis
      @33Jenesis 6 лет назад +7

      I have the opposite. Users can not get close to me because I sense their intention without the need to get to know them. It has always been this way ever since I was old enough to be in school (exposed to world outside of family). I get a vibe about a person upon meeting that person and I am usually right about my vibe. My inner circle consists of ppl I got good or best vibe. A few that I had the most positive vibe I was feeling like having fireworks exploded inside my head, pure euphoric upon meeting them for the first time.

    Ok, here goes, I am a recent discoverer of self, (meaning), that I am an INFJ, which helps alot, but I also want to add that I am a believer and follower of Jesus Christ. Any others out there? This intensifies things emensely I find. The caring for others, the thoughts of the future, the wanting to be alone to be with my creator, the percecution, (for not being understood), explains alot!

I’m looking forward to being in eternity and being KNOWN with no more sorrow and just endless perfect fellowship with God and others. 🙌

      (I am just seeing your comment in 2020.) YES! I have a personal relationship with Jesus. It can't be simplified into "religion" or following a set of moralistic rules. It takes me hours some days to "pray," and I'm telling Jesus things I might never be able to communicate to another human, because they "interrupt" or lose their attention span, or don't really care about your feelings or ideas. I can't imagine losing that connection, or how anyone else navigates the drudgery of daily life without having an ongoing conversation with God. I want the same type of relationship I have with Jesus to be a reality in their lives.

    I'm definitely an INFJ-T. I took it twice and got the same result within a 3 month radius. Watched a few videos that made me question myself and I know I'm definitely an INFJ-T. Friends always come to me for advice while I know it won't be reciprocated. I'm a very good writer. Those whom I feel comfortable with has read my writing can also feel feelings through it. A friend gave me the nickname M.I.A because I disappear....a lot. Revealing my true feelings is very rare and hard to do. Friends also find me intense and passionate beneath the placid exterior.

    I dont really like to put myself in a label because usually I dont think that one label can describe what a person is really like, but knowing my personality type really helps me to understand better how my subconcious mind works and where my weakness lies so I can work around it knowing my limitations and strenght.

    I swear, God speaks to me. He tells me things through my heart. Or if I just start writing. I came to know Him through his Son, Jesus, all alone, when I was 17 years old. Now I am nearly 70. If I sit still and ask Him a question He answers me with the most simple, amazing, unexpected answers. He is my closest-and sometimes only-friend. I have very few, chosen, friends. And the best husband in the world. But no one makes me feel like I belong except my Heavenly Father. Since I was a tiny child I was always aware of Him watching me. I know I came from Him, and I will return to Him. This world seems like a difficult testing place, and not my home. I endure with a peaceful, trusting heart. He is mine, and I am His.

    I just always have thought the world is so unfair
    People run to me for advices, morelikely relationships (Ironically Ive been single my whole entire life) but I'm still able to give the best response for them
    And seeing the results went well is quite satisfying
    But then I realized even though I know these stuff why am I still alone?
    I want someone to understand me and also do the same, I need someone to accept me
    I just find it difficult to be interested in someone

    Thank you. I really needed this TT I just came from a family gather and they asked me about my achievements and I felt like crying, I worked REALLY hard to overcome a depression, I lost a lot of weight, I had a panic attack, I lost all sense of selforientation and honestly, I couldn't keep up with "normal life" I was barely able to get up from bed and I felt so unworthy, so sad and mostly like one would understand me, even If I tried to share my real thoughts.. they are my family but I don't feel like we are close.. It's just very strressful and nerve wrecking to reunite with them :( This video helped me soothe my helplessness a bit. Thank you 💜

    The only thing about the elusive infj is so many people actually are mistyped, you need to do multiple testing and delving into the shadow side of every personality type to understand if you truly are an infj... there is a strange mystical idea that infj are so magical because they are the rarest type, but a true infj understand that it is no walk in the park. And also every personality type is amazing and beautiful and aweful in their own way. No type is more magical than another. There wouldn't be this many infj popping up being that it is the smallest portion of population.

    • @paulboon1100
      @paulboon1100 6 лет назад +7

      Definitely not magical, interesting in my own mind, lonely a lot of the time, misunderstood most of the time, looked at as "superior" but knowing I'm not at all, feeling like an alien amongst my own family, but also knowing I'm actually okay, just not from here!? loving people, working with people trying to help people and at the same time sometimes just looking at people makes me tired, it's a struggle, definitely not magical. As someone said " i.n.f.j, it would not have been my first choice".

    • @hugmc
      @hugmc 5 лет назад

      Chantel Wensley agree but a true INFJ really knows whothey are. And we know the big bad down side living through that. It’s been hell on earth before I understand it all . And at 59 years old I still find it hard.😦

    I just found out yesterday that I'm an INFJ and it was so nice., I felt like I was truly being understood. When I read about it I was instantly surprised and wanted to learn more about myself and this personality and it fits for many reasons
    1. I'm always thinking of ideas
    2. I love doing things that require creative work
    3. I always try to look out for my sisters (who both have special needs. By the way, do siblings of special needs children develop more of an INFJ personality or no since they always try to help people out (which is a defining trait of INFJs)?), friends, and loved ones and try my hardest to make them happy
    4. I'm someone who will get things done no matter what
    5.i like to be productive
    6. I like being with a close, small group of friends but I value my alone time (thus the paradox part)
    And yes I've seen the positives and negatives of this personality but I'm proud of who I am

I was thinking about the similarities to someone with aspergers.My father is self diagnosed aspergers and he is similar to me and I get this result on the test that I am INFJ..sometimes I get INFP so I don´t know but I feel INFJ is more correct..I used to think I must have something like aspergers I knew I was not like most people and used to hate myself. But this makes me feel little easier about myself that I´m ok just few of us out there..

    Amazing video!!!TOTALLY spot on!!!thank you☺We really have a mind of our own, i remember at school, I was very good at maths, used to take A all the time, but as i was growing up, around 12, 13 years old, i started to take B sometimes, although i knew the subject well enough to take an A, what happened was that, even in maths, i had to use my Ni and my Ti together and i had to get out of the "Box" cause that was so boring and so easy...and i just had to go around and around...those were the times when i took B, ahahah...don't like the thinking inside the box, our minds are rebels and have their own will, that takes us to be also one of the most open minded and genuine considerate types of personality, we really CARE and the smaller the things are, the more we care, for real.You described me with your words, i am always, always thinking about the future ,since i can remember, but at the same time we know exactly what we want and we strive to do the right thing to achieve It.
    I've always liked the song from Supertramp"You take the long way home" yeah,complexity is our thing and sometimes it's complicated, but hey, that's us and i love It ☺Bo miller I appreciate your videos, regards to you Vera

    Laughing at the sudden clarity...this is amazing. Thank you for digging in on your interests and living your strengths out loud. This is so helpful and I really like your resources...very well done and provides a lot of immediate value...so much in fact, I have to slow down to make sure I'm not trying to ingest too fast.
    Two ideas that really landed on me from this: (1) "impressions" for INFJs are formed from the experience and observation of our lives to that point, so when we have an impression or perspective, it is hard to articulate exactly how we got there but they are most often accurate; (2) even my spouse has a hard time understanding me...and the awareness here is that as much as my thoughts and comments make sense to me, I have a memory book full of people not "getting it" or not understanding me...which is easy to take as negative feedback when you are young, and keep quiet...BUT, now I know it's just me...and that's very cool to know. And a relief :-)
    Thank you, Bo!

    I'm an INFJ/Empath/Indigo/Starseed. all of this info I could relate with. if you're aware of the practice of EMDR and brainspotting in psychology, INFJs are excellent at this process. I have done both for quite a few sessions, and I was the best in having info coming up from my subconscious and my ability to be aware of those memories, beliefs, feelings, and energy of what was coming up and being able to describe it all. quite helpful to be an INFJ. it would seem like the INFJ brain was created specifically for these processes. Yay, Male INFJs!! love the female ones, too, but there seems to be many more of them than us.

    I can relate to your buying a home with your spouse. All the home we were looking at were all similar to each other. One of the homes we were checking out, the neighborhood looked great, the house on the outside looked great, too. But I got to the front door, this sense came over me and instantly knew and I said “NOPE”! I turned around to leave. I didn’t want to waste our time. My husband was so annoyed with me...and insisted on going through. I had no interest. And just went in to appease him. Though, I didn’t even want to go through any rooms, nor look at anything. He then brought up the topic in the car, to argue with me as to why I didn’t want to go in and look at anything. I told him, “You know, when you know”! He said “ You didn’t even give it a chance”. He said “We came out to look at homes”. I told hIm, “I don’t care, if it was a palace/or made of gold, on the inside, the answer was “NO”! Frankly, I was surprised that he didn’t ‘KNOW’ as I ‘KNEW’. I just knew that wasn’t going to be our home. It felt so wrong.

      I found out I am INFJ 5 months ago, but I have unfortunately discovered that no one else really cares. It can be a bit lonely with this new knowledge of yourself. I've explained to 4-5 people that are close to me and no one ever asked me any questions about it, or why realising the fact I'm an INFJ is life changing for me. People simply didn't really care. It was a bit disheartening.
      I'm just letting you know in advance, don't expect too many people to be as excited as you are about this new discovery.
      For INFJs this discovery is amazing... for many other personality types it's not a big deal. Your best bet is to immerse yourself in INFJ RUclips channels and online forums.
      Good luck on becoming a better version of yourself. You will only improve from here onwards. Embrace your weirdness!

    5 years late to the party 😂 but you are absolutely correct! It really is relieving to understand that you are not "a lone" is this World as there are others albeit a small % who think in a very similar manner as you do.
    It's funny just the other night I step outside to let my little Micky (10lbs long-haired chihuahua and LOVE of my life) outside my back yard for a bit of exercise / take care of business and literally out of the blue I'm suddenly inspired to purse an endeavor I've been putting off for no good reason as it turns out.

    I have said to my spouse, when drama happens, it takes me a few days to know how I really feel about it. My first instinct is to calm the drama. If I can't do that, dominate it and take over and subdue it or drive it off. Because underneath this sweet, accomodating person runs the blood of a true barracuda who tries to use her dark side for good and not evil. Ahem. If I can't do that, leave. Then retreat and think. Stew. Process. Chew on it. Turn it over and look for holes and blemishes and good bits. Sleep. Have coffee. THEN........Know how I feel about the event and the people involved. Meanwhile there will be a side of me that really hated to have to get out the barracuda, if indeed I had to. But it had to be done. So hate scary Trish, but good job scary Trish. Sigh.

I was also assaulted at work and the witnesses denied seeing anything. I also got bullied at school in both primary and secondary school. How am I mean to like and trust ppl after all of this shit? My 2 cents of advice
      What doesn’t kills you makes you only stronger, for mankind cannot remake himself without suffering for (s)he is both the marble and the sculptor.
      Never be afraid to be hurt, it’s just the way how we learn new things and the more we are aware the harder it will be for us.
      In our younger years we were just shy and mimicking to be part of a group, but once you have found a purpose never stop believing in yourself.

I automatically stood up and said I don't believe she's going to be able to take that position. I don't know the reason why but I'm positive she's not going to accept it. And sure enough it was a political gathering and she was not of the same political party ! The fact that her name came up was just nuts, like an oxymoron!

    I enjoyed this video. New to investigating what it means to have an INFJ personality type, I find it all rather intriguing and can relate to most of it. Regarding personality compatibility, I'd just say that I believe from my experiences, that the most important factor has to do with temperament. I feel that is the most important part of personality that determines compatibility, esp. over time. I'd like to see more focus on that aspect of attraction and how others feel about this theory. I also would like to hear more about the significance of empathetic experiences because those play a very large part in my own relationships and life, and I have a feeling I am not alone in that. ;)

    • @ispeakpeople
      @ispeakpeople  7 лет назад

      Miah, when you refer to temperament, are you thinking about idealists, guardians, artisans, and rationalists or sanguine, phlegmatic, choleric, and melancholic - or maybe even something else? Do you feel like they're the most important factor in personality? And when you refer to empathetic experiences, do you mean people putting themselves in one another's shoes? Thanks for your comment!

    For my coaching business, I can observe a complex problem for a while and then sort of come up with detailed solution out of nowhere. Others will question it, asking about the details, and strangely my solution will have addressed everything problem, and I never really consciously remember thinking it through in that level of detail. Does that make sense to anyone else?

    Bo, I noticed there are many on this comment section stating they were a different personality type and got tested as an INFJ. How can that be? I know people grow and change mentally and physically, but I have also taken the tests about five times and always rated as an INFJ. If what you state is true, how can these individuals say they have changed to an INFJ? Isn't our thought processes wired this way and can't be changed? I am confused on this. What do you think on this matter?
