Hi CECHAFLO, good morning and have a good time,,, once again thanks of share your video, now in the job of the CARPET,,, like allways details with your special touch,,, time to put atention,,, greetings and thanks, your friend Oscar de Playa del Carmen Q R México.
It could be the whole portion. I mean the carpet glued down to the rectangular padding/underlayer piece. I put some dense points of glue instead. If I would remove the carpet for some reason the rectangular portion would be adhered to the carpet material. The loose wool part of the padding was glued down to the reverse side of the carpet. The more compact face of the padding was fixed to the car floor. I left over the old undercarpet because it is somehow useful to add 'body' to the car floor carpet. Some carpets could be also secured to avoid slippery with sticky strips/tape of tar
This method works for traditional upholstery carpets where edges are joined using any industrial sewing machine or by hand sewing, it actually does a better close OEM look as shown in this other video: ✅ruclips.net/video/kd36g_FujFQ/видео.html Traditional carpets can easily burn when applying heat directly and even a low temperature won't make a really noticeable effect to erase wrinkles but there are some special automotive carpets with a heat activated glue (a kind polyurethane) in the backing that allows heat-molded: www.thehogring.com/2016/01/26/how-molded-vehicle-carpets-are-manufactured/
We have another video using the same patterning- molding technique. ✅ ruclips.net/video/l4f7eLx7Ts4/видео.html The sewing machine helps to get the car floor carpet done quick but if you do a hand sewing the result turns to a really close OEM-like ✅ruclips.net/video/kd36g_FujFQ/видео.html

All the skills are on another level, amazing.
Art! Greetings from Serbia.
No heat gun. But industrial sewing machine and 10 years + of experience. Nice!
Nice work!
outstanding result!!!
I have one question, min 11:00 why you only glue some points instead the whole carpet?
That is the heel resting location. If it weren’t glued the carpet would shift and bunch over time from regular use.

An artist!
Ein großartiges Ergebnis. Beim Titel des Videos frage ich mich, ob es auch die Möglichkeit gibt den Teppich mit Heißluftföhn zu formen?
