It was so beautiful to hear her talk about Muriel’s Wedding like this. I would rent that movie over and over again as a kid. It just rips your heart out of your chest then leaves you cheering. Ugh, Toni is such a superstar. I’ll watch anything she makes, she always delivers.
Toni Collette is one of the best actresses ever, I can't believe her career has been 30 years. Yeah she deserves an Oscar hopefully she gets it in a film that is also deserving, she should have won it for Hereditary.
Toni Collette is probably the best actor of her generation. I loved her the first time I saw her in The Sixth Sense (which she should have got an Oscar for) and I loved her in Muriel's Wedding, and even now she consistently knocks it out of the park and should have got an Oscar for Hereditary. What an amazing talent
As a person and as an actor, Toni is by far the best of the best. My first experience watching Toni Colette was in United States of Tara and I was floored by how seamlessly she transitioned into her alters. The cast of that show was phenomenal (young Brie Larson, John Corbett, Rosemarie Dewitt, Payton oswalt) and Toni lead them so well.
Murial's Wedding changed my life when I was younger. No one but me knew that movie and it's always been such a big part of my life. Watching and listening to her talk about her role in that movie, finally, was EVERYTHING to me.
Toni Collette is underrated as an actress. Seems like she's receiving more roles and honestly we couldn't be any more prouder of her achievements. Spoiler (even though Hereditary has been out for years, there still might be some people that haven’t seen it.) People talk about the dinner scene a lot in Hereditary, but I think her strongest emotional scene was her sobbing hysterically in her bedroom saying she wants to die after she finds her daughters body in the car, while her son is outside in the hallway listening to it. That scene gave me chills, and I don’t get chills much when watching movies.
Definitely, I always want to cover my ears, that's how real and gripping her wails were. The fact that she's on all fours like she's giving birth - her husband literally having to hold her up. Just devastating.
"Muriel's Wedding" was such a pivotal part of my adolescence. Learning that sometimes you hurt the ones you love most on your path to discovering how to love yourself.

The fact that this woman has not won an Oscar isn't just criminal, it's freaking sinful. And her accent of course is divine. And heard describing Muriel's Wedding as the saddest comedy ever is perfect
I grew up watching Muriels wedding so many times, when I left my hometown, my brother and I yelled "GOODBYE PORPOISE SPIT!" I've loved her ever since. But still can't bring myself to watch the last 20 minutes of hereditary, geesh.
I think it is quintessentially Australian. So many of our movies are a study in laconic dry humoured pathos, or seering bleakness. Cosi, Tim, The Dressmaker's Daughter (based on a book of course), Picnic at Hanging Rock, Road to Nhill, Strictly Ballroom, Sorrento, Lantana, High Ground, Rabbit Proof Fence, Samson and Delililah, Gallipoli, Crackerjack, to name just a few. ❤
First saw her as Muriel and instantly sensed that something seriously special was going on with this chick. Then I saw her in Sixth Sense, which confirmed it. When I saw Hereditary, she officially became the best actress I had ever had the pleasure of being influenced by in a movie -- EVER. United States of Tara was great as well.
"Japanese Story" is probaly her best performance (and that's saying alot), but barely anyone even knows about the movie. "Clockwatchers" is also a hidden gem.
Hereditary is one of the best horror films ever made. She may have been robbed of awards but her performance in that was so grand it will live on for a LONG time. ICONIC

That scene in the Sixth Sense always moves me to tears. My mom and I have had our share of issues, but the love is always there.
The fact that this woman has not won an Oscar isn't just criminal, it's freaking sinful. And her accent of course is divine. And heard describing Muriel's Wedding as the saddest comedy ever is perfect
That dress is killing me, it's so glamorous in an old-fashioned way.
Someone please give Toni an Oscar soon!!
She is a masterpiece of acting. Love the getting out of her own way.
the way she talks about that scene in the sixth sense is so powerful it made me cry
So happy they did Muriel’s Wedding.
I grew up watching Muriels wedding so many times, when I left my hometown, my brother and I yelled "GOODBYE PORPOISE SPIT!" I've loved her ever since.
But still can't bring myself to watch the last 20 minutes of hereditary, geesh.
Muriel’s Wedding is one of the most tragically sad comedies ever!!! Still hits me to this day. ❤

I always feel so bad for her mother in that movie. Amazing movie
@@LionmaneElsie08 Her character breaks my heart EVERYTIME!!!
@@TomsTube same 😔
Her crying in Hereditary in the bedroom is the greatest scene of grief in film history
Toni Collette is such a treasure. I love the movies highlighted here, and I wish that the United States of Tara series had gotten more seasons.
This is purely fast wisdom. Love how Toni tells her perspective on things so quickly and poignant.
Yikes! 😱 Toni Collette suffers very unfortunate wardrobe malfunction ( 2023)malfunction ( 2023) ruclips.net/video/aBu1OZEI19Ah/видео.htmland-pink-waving
She’s one of the best actresses of our times without a doubt. Simply brilliant in everything she does. 👏🏽
Muriel's Wedding is still one of my favourite movies of all time. Toni Collette is just an unbelievable talent.
GIVE HER AN OSCAR!!!
For the car scene in The Sixth Sense alone, this woman should be getting an Oscar per year, for the rest of her life.
"Japanese Story" is probaly her best performance (and that's saying alot), but barely anyone even knows about the movie. "Clockwatchers" is also a hidden gem.
Yes! I’ve seen Japanese story a few times . Great movie , really moving ❤
That Muriel clip really made me tear, what a beautiful performance.
Definitely should have been nominated for Hereditary. And she's got a good taste in music, More Than This, Roxy Music. A talented shelia for sure.

Hands down one of my favorite actors. Her understanding of her characters, her poise, her talent. I live.
How A24 didn't manage to get toni an oscar nom for hereditary is unbelievable
Toni Collete is so ICONIC, I still want to see her in the big screen, what a blessing
She's so talented it's unreal
Toni your portrayal of a mother’s heartbreak spoke massive volumes. Thank you 😢❤
Toni is excellent in everything she's in. A true Artist through and through. 😘❤️
Never realized she was one of my favorite actresses until hereditary..love me some Toni
She was amazing in hereditary
Hereditary is one of the best horror films ever made. She may have been robbed of awards but her performance in that was so grand it will live on for a LONG time. ICONIC
So sad we couldnt get an insider on United states of Tara it was my first introduction to Toni and she blew me away.
my favorite actor right here...Muriel's Wedding is a classic. Connie and Carla is just pure good silliness, that's how I got into her and so glad she nailed the serious roles. Agreed with how underrated she is
The Best actress in the last 20 years
The academy must have something against her, Toni deserves ALL the awards
