    Fantastically, informative, camera work, and your brief and clear explanations were money. I can’t wait to break this rock shocks so I can buy that bad girl.

    Thank you for the video! Can't wait to set-up my new IL coil on the trail. The shock itself looks stunning and I really like how you neatly incorporated 3 mm hex key into the climb switch lever.

    Fantastic explanation. I will be ordering the coil version as soon as I hear which spring rate I need; very excited to install one of your shocks on my SUB. Very happy to support an NC company (North Carolina resident here) - Bike NoCar!

    Some weird explainations here. Over a rough section he reduced low speed compression for smaller bumps….but isnt compression based on shaft speed? He wasnt moving particularly slow so those small bumps will be taken up by the high speed circuit if the shock blows into it.
    Yes generally the slower the bike the slower the input but if you do a massive drop slowly, i assure you, the shaft will move very quickly on landing. The shock will defo go into the high speed circuit

      Yeah, half a year later and I'm still kind of guessing on what my adjustments should be doing. I am sure he knows exactly what he's talking about, but it wouldn't hurt for CC to give a detailed "say it to me like I know less than nothing" explanation of what each dial does in the + & -.

      true, low speed compression damping should have its main effect on g-outs, rider input, brake-dive.
      high speed for the bumps of any size punching the wheel up.
      happy to be corrected, but I think the presenter mixed it up but I'd be surprised if they let that go online and stay online...

      @@TheZweric okay, I need to ask, adding more clicks of compression makes the damper/shock do what?

    • @TheZweric
      @TheZweric 2 года назад +10

      @@ianfleischhacker6154 it makes it harder for the oil to flow through the damper when the suspension is compressed, meaning it creates resistance. This energy is not put into the spring but dissipated as heat. But that's probably not exactely what you wanted to hear.
      "adding compression" means adding compression damping, means adding resistance to compression. Depending on your suspension you may be able to tune both HSC (high speed compression) and LSC (low speed compression) seperately or only one of them (in that case it'll likely just be LSC)
      The speed references the speed at which the damper piston moves, not at what speed you are going.
      Personally I like to open up HSC all the way, no matter what the manufacturer says to keep it nice and plush. For LSC I'll start quite open and close it as far as I don't notice it. That helps a bit against pedal bop or the fork diving too much under breaking. Closing LSC (or adding too much low speed compression) will also have adverse effects. Your suspension will feel sluggish to the point where it won't fully compress anymore

    On the dialed app it lists hsc at 2 for my bike from fully out. But the adjuster doesn't click... So is it 2 full turns in clockwise ie 720 degrees? What exactly does the 2 relate to?hsr is 2.5. The low speed settings are easy to adjust as they click. It's a dB air Cs shock. Also another quick question, if my bike is bucking me off jumps I need to wind the hsr in (clockwise)? Thanks.

    So, based on factory settings (say an Inline at 2/7/2/10) what did you arrive at/suits your riding style/terrain aligned? Cheers, Mark (Deviate - Guide with Inline shock)
