Hello Dan Nice build, i like it. The matter with missing stencil instruction sheet, in your part one 4:29 you have the sheet. I am looking forward to start my version of the Javelin, thanks for god advice and ideas.
Yeah, I had to rewatch my own video to confirm it, but its going on two years and I still haven't found it. My theory is that the sheet fell to the floor and slid under a workbench or behind a shelf.
Turned out nice Dan!!! 🏆🏆 That's odd that they would not say where all the little decals go. Also, yea, the landing gears and housings look really detailed and complex. Again, great job!! 👍👍
I'm considering making this my next build and was looking for some build hints/tips and these 3 vids of your build were just what I was looking for. Great looking build mate and many thanks por taking the time to record and upload. 👍
The stencil decal locations are included on a large foldout sheet in the box. If you've managed to lose said (giant) sheet, it's also here file:///Users/admin/Desktop/gloster%20javelin%20plans%20-%20Cold%20War%20-%20Britmodeller.com.html
I watched em! Pretty cool. The big thing around here,at least for me and some friends,( Northeast of Kansas City MO) in the bottoms, was the old channel of the Missouri River. It changed course by quite a bit! Ray county has a loop of Lafayette (?spelling?) County that crosses the river several miles deep and wide! We were always curious and checked it out. It happened at several places closer to KC MO too. Johnson county loops into Clay county in the same way. Real visible from the air, confusing as hell from the ground! So I Got the videos, man!! Looking forward to the Ford Louisville follow ups! I understand the gaps in releases,my big build time is over the winter mainly. We just finished up our corn and soybean harvests, and gonna get a little break before we start selling and hauling our grain. I got 3 trucks to build and one to finish! Take your time we'll be here
Thanks for the support. There are a couple of strange bits of the Welland canal Sandra and I want to explore, plus we want to explore the 2nd canal. Many of the locks survive.
Yeah, this aircraft comes from the era of high speed silver on the belly. I believe that Airfix, normally, supplies a separate instruction sheet for applying the common markings. Perhaps your kit was missing that sheet, or maybe you misplaced it? The model turned out really nice!!!
What happened to the large black and white decal placement sheet you showed in the review/build video part 1 you even commented on how many decals there were on it all numbered and showing location?
You are absolutely right. I did rewatch part 1, and there it was. The funny thing is that from the time I filmed that unboxing until I finished the kit everything stayed on that table. I had vague memories of another decal map and had searched under the table and on all of the other horizontal surfaces in the shop. It was a large piece of paper even folded! Years from now I will be moving things in my workshop and will find that it slid under or behind something. Your memory is clearly better than mine!
I'm aware some modellers are happy with artistic licence, but you should at least have a choice. Airfix let customers down badly with choice of underwing stores as the livery shown on this model, that of 33 Sqn, was not able to carry a refuelling probe or underwing tanks. From the choice on offer, only the aircraft of 64 Sqn could carry underwing tanks and a refuelling probe, This was an FAW9(R) and only forty were produced and mainly used by 23 and 64 Sqns in RAF service. Another serious niggle is the fin flash, as shown on this model, is a 1/4" too tall ( one foot on a real Javelin) and the triangle in front of the red section is too big. I believe Airfix intended that the flash was stuck to the fin before assembly, but who would do that? If 1/4" is cut of the bottom of the flash it works OK, but the majority of finished models I have seen have an incorrect fin flash. This is an excellent effort but like 80% of finished Javelins spoiled by Airfix.

Yep, I was just about to say that.
One of its nick names was the flying smoothing iron. Great work on what can be a challenging kit. Very well done.
Yes I can definitely see the resemblance. A very apt nickname.
You had the stencil placement sheet on the first video??

I have this kit on my shelf awaiting it's turn, nice to see how someone else tackles it.

Nice job Dan, she’s a beast! 👍🏻🇦🇺
Thanks David! And yeah, the term beast fits well too.
That's a fantastic result well done, all those decals yikes. I have shared your canal video's to a friend who like me likes social history.
Thanks for the referral!

@@dansmodelworx - you’re welcome bud!
nice work, subbed, in the first part I am sure you had a stencil placement sheet?

i'm surprised that you don't have a seperad instruction sheet for the small decals.
A couple of people have suggested that. I think it just may have been left out of my example.
Probably health n safety incase some dope eats the lead 🙃
Possibly!
