    I’ve been so excited waiting for this video and it is awesome as usual! ❤️ I love the variety of hats that you used! Plus the super cute designs! When you did your unboxing video I mentioned I had found some distressed baseball hats from Amazon in my comment to you, I got those. There are two different color sets and I ordered them both! They are $27.99 for each set, which is just under $4.00 a cap. They are 100% cotton they come in really cool colors in both color sets. I’ve done three hats with them so far and I’ve been really impressed. I actually even split a design it was a sunflower, I put part of it on the hat and part of it on the bill it looks really cool! I did that for my daughter since she loves sunflowers 🌻! It was on a mustard yellow hat. I used black HTV and it was an outline of a sunflower I was really pleased with the results. Now full disclosure since I was close to the crease in the hat between the hat and the bill I went ahead and used my easy press mini. Since I was putting the design on to be close together for lack of a better description so The sunflower looked whole not split so my mini was better for the job. The hat press didn’t lend itself to this particular project,since it was close to the crease in the hat. But my HTV went on perfectly! Oh how I wish you could see a picture of this hat because it was so perfect! Plus it was an experiment! I use my slicing tool and cut the sunflower in a half! Which worked perfectly, I was able to match it up at the brim and bottom of the hat. My my other two hats I did with my hat press and it works smashingly I used HTV on both. I haven’t ventured into the world of sublimation yet mostly because I’m still a little concerned about the shadowing and it pressing down as well as I would like. Although yours turned out so well I am thinking it’s time to get adventurous. I just need to pick up some Cricut hats in order to do that. I have to admit I lean more towards 100% cotton so I’m looking at some bucket hats as well because I love your designs and the possibilities are endless with a bucket hat! The sun hats you did were just amazing! I’m including a link to the baseball caps on Amazon I bought as you had mentioned in your message to me on your last video that you might be interested in those:

      Your sunflower hat sounds so darn cute and I love the clever idea of having the design go from the hat to the bill. 💕 The heat didn't hinder the bill or the color at all? So great! I'll have to try that sometime! By the way, there are hats on Amazon, colorful ones, that will take sublimation if you ever get into it. And thank you for the sweet comments about the video. Your kindness is so appreciated. 😊💕

      Hey Kim to answer your question about the flower that I did on the hat and the bill. It did not affect or mishape the bill at all. My scientific conclusion 😜 is that on Cricut hats when your using sublimation, you’re using the highest temperature at 400° for 90 seconds, that might make a difference on the bill. I used a Smart Iron On for the hat with the sunflower on it and and that’s only 315° for 30 seconds so it’s not a long period of time and you’re moving it around a lot (especially so with the Cricut Mini Press). Now that being said, because I was right there in the crease of that hat I went over it at the crease area twice to make sure I had a good seal on the flower. I went extra over the entire flower as well. I went over it a second time because one little spot didn’t seal quite right on the first press at the crease, but even going over it twice I didn’t have any problems with shaping of the bill. The hats I got from Amazon had really sturdy bills on them. I will check out the colored sublimation hats on Amazon. I do love color a lot! Bright and vibrant is my jam! You pick some great colors for the hats that you did! I loved the colors on the hat that said Berry Sweet! ❤️😊 also I figured out a way to do hats for kiddos. Stand the hat form on its end and it works perfectly for infant to toddler! Let me tell you there’s a bunch of ideas bouncing around in my head for a little kid hats!😊

      Hey Tracey! I'm actually not sure! I've always owned a Cricut. Sorry! But if you're just sublimating and not cutting anything, you can make and find darling designs on Canva. Here's a video I made showing you how to use Canva and Creative Fabrica for sublimating. It's on a tumbler, but the same concepts apply: ruclips.net/video/F6_O2AAlGvo/видео.html
      Thank you so much for crafting with me! 🩷

    Can the baking/grease paper be used of you cannot get your hands on the parchment paper?

    • @KimByers
      @KimByers  2 года назад

      I've tried butcher paper and parchment paper, and both work great! I've also used printer paper in a pinch, but the heat will get to it eventually AND it's so small. I hope you find something that works! Thanks for watching!

    Does sublimation work best on polyester material? (Speaking for shirts) can I do it on cotton?

    • @KimByers
      @KimByers  2 года назад

      Hey Jodee! Yes, you do want polyester and unfortunately all polyester is not equal. For instance, I've had the best luck with things that are very high in polyester. You can go with a 40% blend, but when you wash it, it will fade a bit because it just can't hold the color. Anything less than 40% will pretty much wash away. I prefer a 60% or more. Or better yet, a true sublimation tshirt (sold at craft stores and on Amazon). Thanks so much for watching and happy sublimating! 💕

    What parchment paper do you use?

      Hi Jodee! I just use any off brand, Walmart or Target will do just fine. I reserve the more expensive Reynolds for cookies. 😊💕
