Nice video. Truvada sounds like it’s the way to go unless our patients have some predisposition to bone or renal issues. However both carry some risk, but Descovy is not as renally-toxic as Truvada.

I have osteopenia and was given Truvada by my nurse. However she said she will check with a physician regarding whether this is safe. Would Descovy be a better option for me because of my low bone density?

I didn't see the commercial. The phrase "assigned female at birth" encompasses both women and trans men. Medically there are reasons to make the distinction based on medical history and the particular risks people have due to the way they are living their lives. PrEP is potentially valuable for both audiences, but not Descovy in particular due mostly to a lack of research and resultant lack of regulatory approval in that audience. You're welcome to have whatever prejudices you like (and others are welcome to view you accordingly). Seems that being a bigot is a constitutional right, at least here in the U.S. However, those prejudices should have no place in medical practice.
