- What's happening, folks! I'm back with another Alison Moyet reaction, and this time we listen to the B-side of the "Lover Letters" single, the emotionally powerful and pained "This House," a track I got a sense of thematically just based on the title. So join me for a powerful, gothic-style tune from Alison, and shout-out as always to Seb. Cheers!

The utterly brilliant Alison Moyet singing one of her best songs.
This recording is more like a demo. The track is included on "Hoodoo" and is simply stunning.
This is my favorite solo song by Alison. The emotion and despair in her voice is palpable. Exquisite
A fantastic song that I've always really enjoyed. Great vocal work and some beautiful instrumentation as well. The guitar work is just so melancholy.
One of my faves from Alison. I am glad she rerecorded it for the following album. It's far too good to be hidden away on the B-side of some old vinyl single.
One of my favourite Alison tracks from Hoodoo, ( which version I much prefer), it's great live and there is a great vid on YT of her doing it in her One Blue Voice concert.
What a fantastic track to be hidden away as a b-side.
This will feature on the next album in a more finished form (also shorter)!. It would be the 4th single (a side this time) off the Hoodoo album and only top 40 single the next album produced. Her hits years are kinda over after Raindancing. I really like this version but prefer the Hoodoo version! Man those lyrics hit hard.
the Hoodoo version is indeed far superior to my ears
I too prefer the album version but I really liked the guitar solo and extra vocals.
Wonderful track that I know in a different version from her album 'Voodoo'. It sounds a lot better on the album I must admit. Very sad song. But what a voice...
Very much like Winter Kills.
Wow, that's true. Never made that connection. You can easily sing along the lyrics of "Winter Kills" during the guitar solo towards the end.
