- Frogspawn is one of my favorite corals. While it is considered a beginner's coral, it has a special place in many reefer's tank due to it's beauty and ease of care. It is pretty much a must for any of my tank to have a Frogspawn colony in it!

Dude i cant stop watching your videos! Quality content
I find it very lovely and it kind of reminds me of a part of a large tree branch with lots of smaller branches with leaves.
Really nice aquascaping. Love the tank!
excellent video quality. Wish more people could post this kind of quality!
Chek out my latest videos. They are all at 1080P DSLR quality :)
They are beautiful and easy to care for
Beautiful tank...Is that an African Grey in the background whistling. He's really getting my grey to whistle back....lol
OMG so glad you made this. Frogspawn is my favorite coral and iv been dying to get my hands on one.
Lol same. So six years later, how did you do?
Just came across your channel today. Great vids man 👍
Waow the clows are awesome!
Enjoying the vids mate
Thanks to you I just picked up two morphs of frogspawn from my LFS! They're from a tank tear down so they're massive colonies
Thank you. Very informative video.
I just got a hold of a Frogspawn frag. It has purple tips with green tentacles. I really like your channel by the way.
Doing good man, Yours loks great
Love the tank!
It's called an Octopus Frogspawn coral and it's only rare in the US. They come from Australia. I was lucky enough to get my hands on some and it is my absolute favorite. It's body is a deep blue and it's tips are neon green. It has this wonderful thick movement. It actually LIKES to eat, which is not like my hammer at all. My hammer just sticks to food for a sec and than drops it. I don't feed the Octopus much. Only a couple of times a month because I noticed that more than that seems to cause the animal's body to grow faster than it's body can keep up with and it starts to not be able to retract into it's branch which eventually leads to death. They are SUPER sticky so you gotta be careful when fragging because you can accidentally rip their feeder tentacle off. Not good. chances infection, not cool for the animal. Etc. I watched my LFS make that mistake and I wasn't happy. I had to go with my second choice frag. IF this does happen. Treat with betadine. It can be a lifesaver against infection for these guys and for anemones. The Octopus frogspawn is much less aggressive than other types, however their sweeper tentacles are as long as ten inches, so you REALLY wanna give them lots of space of their own. They will not sting other types of frogspawn so you can keep them together which gives it a nice look. Keep them low to the tank bottom. They are low light. If you find yours is changing color and hanging out and almost drooping out of its branch, chances are it's getting too much light. It also will not tolerate a lot of water flow, however it doesn't tolerate still water either, so I find the bottom of the tank is the best bet. Just like all frogspawn, if you don't place them at somewhat of an angle, so the light can reach their branches, they actually won't grow and won't sprout heads at all. Octopus grows a bit slower than other types. For maximum growth, be sure to place them at an angle. You will find that every time you place a branching frogspawn straight up and down, that you'll go months and months with absolutely no growth what-so-ever. I did not discover this on my own. I saw this from another youtube contributor and did my own experiments and found him to be absolutely spot on. I will find that video and give him credit for that asap so you guys can reference from it.
Octospawn, they have different tentacle structure
I paused the video to read this nugget of information. Thank you for posting.
hey bud, awesome videos! which test kits do you use for your corals?
That looks like a colorful tree made up of different corals from further away I really like that setup very nice! I have not added corals yet my tank is new it has the fish now but I want to wait till it gets more stable I just added all the inhabitants it is gonna have for fish I will add a cleaner crew as well I have a brittle star they are scavengers so he will be helpfulI hope. Mine is a 63 gallon aquarium with two clowns a yellow tang and a star. I want corals next and add a shrimp a couple snails and some crabs. I am trying to get a look at soft corals in other tanks to see what colors I can add your tank is pretty sick! I really like it.
Beautiful clownfish,
A big Nice froggie 😄
How many heads did yours start with? How long did it take to get that big?
Hi my frogspawn isn't coming out very well on a couple of the heads of only had it a couple of weeks I've dropped the floor and dropped it down to the middle of the tank from the top any ideas
frogspawn is my favorite coral. great video. informative. is that an mp10 or mp40? what power is it set at? 20%, 50%?
+ROTTER tube Reef
Rotter! I need some Tshirts from ya!
Alex what's up? I made a really cool one for me and am looking at making ones to sell. I want to make them cool but don't want them to be too pricey. IM me.
I have got stung on my Inner arms by frogspawns. There Nemesis stings are quite nasty. An aggressive coral, with others as you mention. Subbed.
What kind of light are you using ?
I have a pearl tipped octospawn is it the same care for this as frogspawn?
my favorite!!
If the frogspawn have multiple mouths does that mean it’s a branching? My wife and I just picked up a frogspawn and we forgot to ask them if it was wall or not. I can’t tell if it’s branching or wall. :(
Had one, lost it. Want to try another as I do well with others in the family, the hammer and torch coral. Looks great in your tank.
Don't try the wall type hammer. Go with the branching hammer, which is way easier to take care of. Good luck.
+jose Calderon meant to say I lost the frogspawn. I do have a branching hammer, started out as one head, its now 3. I might get my hands a Todds Torch next week. Have a green one already though and I really want to try a frogspawn again....plus an anemone down the road again as well. Time will tell.
Mike Seliga Interesting. My Frogspawn has been bullet proof. I've had it for years.
+jose Calderon yeah. I can't blame the specimen. My LFS is great. The frogspawn was the only coral I got from him that ended up dying. And this is out of like 20 corals plus probably. I think the one screw up (possibly) is I put it in an area with to much flow. Again, I say possibly but my other euphyllias do well with similar locations, flow and lighting. I guess it just happens in this hobby.
How often do u feed them and what do you feed them
And the fish like it:)
What is that little orange fish?! I need one in my tank XD hes so funny
I absolutely love this coral :) I have one frag and I've been thinking about putting it in a more exposed place, with more light and flow - maybe it's worth trying. Thanks for the video.
Great video: You should ask your wife in the background to kindly stop whistling at you while you work :) hahaha.
My frogspawn isn't growing. My SPS are growing well. Not sure what I am doing wrong.
I love that name. Inappropriate reefer.
Also that bird is loud as heck.
Do you think one frog spawn frag in a 16 gallon BioCube would be enough to slowly start filling it. I haven’t started with any corals yet.
+Michael Fournier it may take awhile, but good thing with branching frogspawn is that if you get more frags in the future, you could put them together and they’d look like one colony. So it’s never too late to add more if they are too slow growing for you
Awesome thank you very much for reply
I want to get one
so my frogspawn i've had for around 3 weeks and it has been looking good, but all the sudden it's only opening halfway. Anyone know what's going on?
thatsLITfam 22 Whats the kh?
got mine for 5 bucks. about 2.5 to 3.5 in diameter
nice
Tank Size?
What’s your key to get frogspawn this huge??
Step 1 have a big tank lol
Hey so I just bought my first frogspawn! on average how long does it take for the polyps to extend ? Also how much are you dosing with your frogspawn?
The tank is a 55 and I only have a zoa and that one frogspawn
i had one for about a year. they like medium to low light, so don't place it to the top near the light. There's nothing really special you have to do for it. Just add iodide as directed on your bottle, with an A & B solution. It should take anywhere from 5 to 30 minutes to fully expand when the lights turn on.
The sting hurts and can last a few days. Enjoyed the video :)
hey !! its rickyfuentes from insta. great video as always ! im thinking bout getting one of these tuesday morning my local fish store is getting some. any recomendations as in what to check
check for brown gel on the tentacles, and check the base for cracks, cuts, parasites, and stuff like that. I hope, if you get one you have great luck.
❤ღ❤GREETZ░FROM░NEDERLAND░❤ღ❤
that's weird then because my tourch has multiple tentacles on one tentacle if you get what I mean
very obvious that you love your frogspawn.. nice being able to truly enjoy a hobby.- nice video although the whistling in the background was annoying..
can clown fish host hammer corals
Yes if your tank don't have anemones clown fish like to host goniopora frogspawn also
although clowns prefer anemones , such as the bta or carpets, some will call euphyllias like frogspawns or even toadstools their home.
Why do so many reefers own birds? I myself have a Jenday Conure! She wants to eat the snails through the glass.
You sound like Bruce Lee.
you sound just like AkwardHampster...
Touch a frogspawn with a cut on ur finger you wont do it again , worse then rubbing alcohol
You don’t need to talk like a tweaker bro.
