Excellent video Mikael with a nice mellow Sunday morning vibe. The perfect way to start my day. Using hobby grade electronics is a good idea with these WPL RC's. At the moment I have a generic $8 asian esc in my C44KM which works surprisingly well, and the kit servos for steering and the gearbox. I do use a Flysky transmitter and receiver though, which has all the adjustments I need to make it a very capable trail truck. Have a nice Sunday my good friend and enjoy your week.
Hi Derek! Glad you enjoyed the Sunday ride 🙂 Yeah, pretty much the same set up here. I’ve been meaning to ask you. How do you find the torque of your C44km? Do you use the wheel weights? This one rides good, but definitely seems to lack torque. Not sure if it is my set up, or just a too heavy truck with the weight. Would love to know about your experience with the torque. Hope you’ve had a great weekend, my mate.
@@NordicRC Hi Mikael. I added homemade foams to all the tyres and the put the kit weights in the front wheels. This really helped with grip and stability of the truck. It feels more planted to the ground. I think the performance is limited because of its size, and its small motor. The gear ratio may be a factor too. But mine did very well climbing up one particularly steep incline in a recent video. I was surprised because the surface was loose earth and leaves, and although the tyres are soft rubber I wouldn't say the tread pattern helped with the grip much . But with the wheel weights it managed to get up the slope. (You can see this on my video at 1m 55secs ruclips.net/video/t_x_ZmOx_DY/видео.html) I don't know if torque had much to do with it really because of the size of the motor. But it's a great trail truck, and is very good at trundling along the forest paths. I really enjoy mine now I know its limitations.
Ahh yes, I see it climbs now. Seems to be running okay. Hmm. I might do some tests with mine again. I think the wheel weights in only the front plus tire foam are a good idea. Seen other do it too. I almost had only installed the weights in the front, but I couldn’t find anybody testing them all four so I was curious. But now I of course face the problem that the tires are glued 😅 But I noticed that a full new set of wheels/tires are quite cheap, so I dared it.
@@NordicRC I haven't glued my tyres yet but I need to. One of the front tyres came off its rim on the run. It's a bit of a squeeze in there with foams and weights. (You can see the tyre wobbling in the video). I'm a bit reluctant though because I haven't glues tyres before and I'm frightened of getting glue all over the tyres and spoiling the look of the Toyota ! But as you say, they are very cheap to replace so I will work up the courage and do it one day 😃👍
@@NordicRC Hi Mikael. I've returned to this video because I've just bought this C34-KM kit to go with my C44-KM. But I have just read through our previous comments and the one thing I forgot to take into consideration regarding torque is your C34-KM has a 370 motor with a single speed gearbox and my C44-KM has a 370 motor with a 2 speed gearbox which may have a bit more torque when it's in low gear. I intend to build the C34-KM the same as my C44-KM with weights in the front wheels and foams in all the tyres. It will have the same ESC and I will use the same radio gear too, so it will be very interesting to compare the capabilities of both at the same places. I've also just bought this custom WPL C34-KM Toyota Landcruiser FJ47 Troopy on eBay which has been made by someone using two body sets. (Sellers photos postimg.cc/ykCrM7g0 & postimg.cc/Ty1kVwFv ) I'm waiting for both of them to be delivered and I'm very excited. I love these old 70's style Toyota's. Did you know I also have the Tamiya CC-01 XB Toyota Land Cruiser 40 57810 postimg.cc/nX2FsRbw I've never run the chassis because I use the body on my MST CMX chassis.
Beautiful trailing video my friend. Love the slowmo. Great work! Not really sure about the torque. How about use different esc & battery. Look fwd to your update for this rc😁👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Thank you again, my mate. Yeah, aught to try it with another ESC. Battery is fine and motor looks fine. So must be the ESC ... or the heavy weight from the wheel weights and alloy axles.
@@NordicRC Welcome my friend. We think your wheel weight & metal axles are great mods & helps the grip during climbing. How about quicrun 1060 esc from hobbywing😁👍🏼
Great video, Mikael! The Truck sure looks good, and you did a great job showcasing the model in stock form. Not sure about the wheel weights, though, I think it may have been a bit more lively with a little less weight, or a stronger motor. Well worth a look at this interesting model, good work my friend! :))
Thank you, Mark! It took me some time to get motivated to get it out, but here it is 🙂 Yeah. They might be a theoretical good idea (especially in the front going up hill) but it just seems to lack power and torque. All is good when going easy, but when going a little up, a little climb, it just gives up very quickly. Hmm. 🤔
First and nice brother! I just put up a unboxing of the new Rovan Baja 45cc 5B its a grwat value with the upgrades the 2020 model comes with! I always like the camera shots you do awesome work my man!😉👍👊
Ha ha, well, it’s a 370 motor. In theory it should be able to pull this along nicely. But maybe too much weight or something wrong with the ESC/battery system 🤔
Hi Rob. Tires are really really soft. Too soft perhaps. But they are full of the metal wheel weights ☺️ So it’s practically driving on those. Not sure if they are a good idea for this model 😅 All the best to you, my mate.
Thank you! I think there are so many videos with these out already. Not sure I could contribute with anything new. But if I decide on a project sometime in the future, for my own pleasure, I will most certainly film the process.
She’s definitely a looker as is; but seems like softer tires would do it well. But then again that might alter the great scale looks.🤔 Either way, fantastic video Mikael!👍😊
Hi Jeremy! Ahh, the tires are as soft as they can be. Maybe even a bit too soft. But there are wheel weights inside that take up most of the tire. Not sure those wheel weights are a good idea, but I wanted to try it all stock as the kit came 🙂
Yeah, I thought about painting it too. But not enough time. Could be very cool in flat green or sand. Would love one traditionally in red or black too.
What a charming little truck. I love it.
Yeah, good little cruiser 🙂
Very nice smooth Driving bro, you done a awesome job, really enjoyed this scale video 👍😎😍👍
Thank you so much, Tony!

Great vedio Mikael, do you have any plans on upgrades (metal, electronics) for all wpl models you have ? might be very informative for many of us. 👍

what kind of receiver you used sir my I know? 🤔
Got a full build video series with it. But if I remember correctly it was a GoolRC TG3
@@NordicRC thank you sir have a nice day and God bless ❤️👍
Didn't I tell you I have that gool rc radio for my grasshopper?
It’s a cool radio for sure!
You know it would be funny if you're driving it like this in the next thing you know you slam on the gas and it drives like a maniac.
With the gear reduction set up it won’t be a maniac 😅🙂
@@NordicRC yeah but I thought maybe put a hot little brushless in it and just do it for a giggles and freak people out. Lol
Yeah, could be fun 😅
The only change I will do if I buy one of those is to paint the body. Either a flat green or sand color.
Yeah, I thought about painting it too. But not enough time. Could be very cool in flat green or sand. Would love one traditionally in red or black too.
You forgot to put the tail lights on.
No tail lights. All stock.
@@NordicRC what I meant is you forgot the decal to show tail lights.
Not applied any decals, as there is a little possibility that I will paint it:
Hey, i have the c44km
Nice! That’s a beauty too!
