    That was an excellent review. Thank you. We have stayed at Sunset Beach many times over the years, but we've never stayed at Montecristo. I definitely want to stay there in the future.

    Thank you so much for this!
    Our friends are the time share-ees, and were upgraded to a villa so they invited us and another couple to join them. We head there in a couple of weeks.
    Neither DH nor I have ever been to Mexico, so we’ll be the MX newbies on the trip.
    We are doing the AI, because after Zooming about our options, it made sense for our group.
    We intend on going into town a couple of times but also intend to make good use of our AI options.
    We’ve also opted to use shuttles around the resort rather than rent a car or a golf cart. We’ll see how that pans out. 😀
    Seriously, though, we can’t wait!
    Really appreciate your video and info, Cliff. 👍🏻

      It was a pretty amazing trip - one that I have wanted to make for some time. While there, we visited a sister property closer to the beach called Novispania. It was incredible. My guests said that they were impressed with our villa until we went to tour Novispania... I am working on a future family trip to Novispania - hopefully sooner than later! Cheers!

    Hello Mr. Wagner: I woke up this morning and found your likes. My pleasures. Oh by the way if you ever want to go to Barbados try Coral Reef Club in St. James, I think it is on the east side of Barbados. We were there a very long time ago and I am sure it has been enlarged and renovated. It is my best favourites place, but the Island is a small island, you don’t even have to leave the resort. There is everything on the resort. Right now I am at the Caves Resort and Spa in Negril, Jamaica. It is real beautiful here, This is my six trip to Jamaica , then I am am heading for my winter place in Anguilla for the rest of the Winter. All the best my friend.

      There is a Facebook group called Pueblo Bonito Owners Group - it is mostly, but not entirely made up of existing time share owners. This is where you can get your absolute best deal on a weeks rental. I usually see Montecristo Villas going for about $3K for a week. If you join that group, you can ask if anyone might have a week for rent and then negotiate dates/rent via private messanger. I am an owner of a Pueblo Bonito vacation rental, but not at Montecristo and I have both rented extra weeks AND have rented my week out to other parties. It works out pretty well. Good luck!

    Hi thank you for the review! Did you get the all inclusive package? I wonder if is worth it and you don’t get extra charges for everything

    • @CliffWagner
      @CliffWagner  Год назад

      We did NOT take advantage of the All Inclusive (AI) because we went shopping at the Wal-Mart super center for a bunch of snacks and breakfast items. AND because we were doing day trips into downtown Cabo San Lucas, San Jose Del Cabo and La Paz - so we ate off site quite alot. However, I did attend attend the owners breakfast with my 4 guests (two couples) and opted for a $1200 room credit instead of reduced AI. The sales presentation included a tour of Novispania, which I wanted to tour anyway and they popped for breakfast. In the end, we all told the sales team no, thanks, but I usually do attend the owners breakfast/luncheon to get substantially reduced AI even if we only do it for a few 3-4 days. If you hold out on the day of your arrival, they continue to enhance their offers (if you attend the presentation.) You just have to be able to listen politely for 90 minutes and then tell them no... Happy travels!

      would you recommend this venue for 2 families with kids? it looks beautiful but i am concerned about the distance to places…

    • @CliffWagner
      @CliffWagner  Год назад +1

      @@nicoleprofis Montecristo is PERFECT especially for families. You have your own pool and all of the benefits of your own villa. Including washer and dryer, but many of the villas are within walking distance of the Market at Qivera. We rented a Suburban, but if you don't want to rent a car you can call for transportation and they will dispatch a multi passenger van to pick you and your group up to take you to the drop off location wherever you want to go on the property. Golf carts are then available to get you to pools or wherever you want to go. OR... Your group could rent a 6 seater golf cart for about $350/week and get anywhere you want to go. Montecristo is definitely the way to go especially as a group of two families. Have fun!

    Are all the MC the same. All have 3 bedrooms or are some bigger. Also do u have to call a cart when u need to get to Main resort for market or pools etc

    • @CliffWagner
      @CliffWagner  Год назад +1

      There are a few four bedroom Villas at Montecristo, but not many of them. Many of the Villas are within walking distance of the Market at Quivera and the main resort at Sunset Beach. You can always call for transport and they pick you up in a small van and drop you where you want to go. When I was there, I rented an SUV, so I just drove it to the Market or wherever we needed to go. They have lots of available parking and were very helpful.

    Since it’s a Villa, do they clean your villa daily? Or you have to request it with a fee?

    • @CliffWagner
      @CliffWagner  8 месяцев назад +1

      Yes, they clean daily - there is no extra fee for this, however, I typically tip housekeeping daily based upon the number of people staying in the unit.

      All depends on how you bought it. Retail or wholesale or if you just paid the transfer costs... Also depends on whether you actually use the thing or not. Many factors.

  • @omaveira1979

    I was there in the 90’s . Boy, Oh boy it is something indeed to talk about. Those town house villas with there swimming pools and jacuzzi, at the time the place had just starting building on the mountains. Driving on this long road before you come to the compound, golf carts that carry you into the main entrance and some of the villas can hold up to 12 people, with large dinning tables. It had everything inside that place, kitchen, bedroom, bathrooms and most of all everything was Mexican decorating. The owner had his big Hugh castle build right on the beach near the ocean all by himself. So beautiful. There was the Jack Nicholas golfing grounds. We paid nothing. It was a promotion on selling the properties. For me with all the luxury I much preferred the modern look. The Mexican vibes didn’t appeal to me. Too much. I noticed your balcony didn’t have a swimming pool. There was a guy who lived in Texas that was our tour guide when we stayed there and he got a job there as a realtor for the Company. He bought a place and was rented it because he was put up by the Company. Your room wasn’t overly Mexican, but here were some everywhere you turn was Mexico. It is so expensive to stay now. There are a lot of producers for films and great actors and actress and very wealthy people that owned the single villas. I still think this place still has more years before they will be finally finish. I must say the brick work, the marbles are quite something to look at by the Mexican builders. It was nice seeing it again. It brought back many memory. They are other places apart from the Bonita. Next time you go try it. I have seen over twenty places in I think in Mexico but I love Punta Mita the best. For shopping Mazalan and Puerto Vallarta. Iztapa and Hizmanngega is peaceful and the people are very nice. Mazillnon, the Maya Rivera is very nice in the Yucatan Peninsula and so is Cancun and Cosomel, Tulum Playa de Carmen and Isla mujeres are for North Americans looking to move there. Cabo’s I find is very expensive. I don’t like Acapulco and Mexico City, but there are many more. We took a cruise for twenty one days to Mexico. We flew to San Francisco and board the ship there. It took us four day on board to reach Allcapoco, but after then we stop at a port every day this was back in the nineties. They don’t do cruises like that any more. They don’t want to pay the port fees, so if they do Mexican cruises half is in around L.A and two stops in Mexico and the rest on board. Christmas time in Europe is spectacular. Germany, Greece, Prague, Italy and those places, it is not that cold but the experience is awesome. All the best to you and your family or the holiday season before I end up waiting a book.😅

      Thank you for your comments and insights. We first stopped in at Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach in 2004. It was a port of call for a Mexican Riviera cruise we took (our first) and a friend from work was encouraging me to check into the place. He had purchased a time-share at PB Emerald Bay in Mazatlan on the wholesale market. So I had contacted Sunset Beach and they picked a group of us up at the docs, they happily gave us the time-share pitch and showed us the property. Although I was super impressed with the property, I did not by a time-share at that time. Rather, I returned home and ultimately purchased one for 3K on the wholesale market like my friend at PB Emerald Bay. I have used my week at PB Sunset Beach there in Cabo San Lucas as well and have been very happy with it. Honestly, I think they lose money on me because I attend the owners luncheon, get radically reduced all inclusive and other incentives and then don't buy any new contracts... It works for me pretty well. This last trip, we got a free upgrade to a Montecristo Villa and I finally rented a car and drove all over the area. We enjoyed La Paz, Balandra Beach was unforgettable and I really, really liked San Jose Del Cabo. Hope to make and extended stay there sometime. Funny that you mention Christmas in Germany, because that is exactly my plan for next year. I have been to Germany (briefly) with the military, but never as a visitor and I am looking forward to it. In any case, thank you again for your comments and hope you are still enjoying your world travels!
