Healthy self-talk is vital; also, what can other people say and do to support you...and what are some things that should NOT be said to someone who's struggling? I'm praying for all of you!

He has three videos in his catalogue that deal with relapse. Maybe they would be useful to you. I don't know if these videos deal with your specific questions, but they are at least in the ballpark. You can scroll through the videos on his main channel page to find them. Here are the titles and dates: "Living with liver disease, relapse, what is it, why do we do it, and what to do when it happens" (Feb. 12, 2024); "Living with liver disease, I've relapsed, now what?" (March 20, 2024); "The reality of relapse, Living with liver disease" (Sept. 19, 2024)

I think that the most important thing is give the relapser some space and understanding. One of the worst things is to keep asking them, How do you feel or How are you doing? It’s better to speak of something else. A person coming back from a relapse doesn’t really feel that great. It takes time and patience.💞

LD. ITS no wonder you’re doing well. You have a very good understanding of Nutrition! I’m so impressed! Nutrition is my life. I follow a mostly Carnivore diet/ ketogenic. I don’t eat anything processed. Zero carbs. I eat all meats making protein my priority daily. I love my coffee. I cannot put down the coffee. It is my weakness and I do believe in all the benefits., it has massive amounts of antioxidants!. There is quite a large Carnivore community I follow here on YT. I’m glad you’re talking about this topic. Nutrition is huge when healing your liver . Everything we consume filters through the liver, converts the nutrients we eat into fuel . No to margarine and seed oils! The FDA is doing a horrible job! They are trying to keep us sick and depressed 😢. Much love to you LD , way to go 💚🤟

Your voice sounds totally normal and great, btw!!! I laughed out loud when you talked about "boil[ing] the ever-livin' crap out of" vegetables and how that's not a good idea. Haha! I love your passion when you talk in favor of certain foods (black coffee, honey, protein, etc.) or against certain foods (processed foods, soda, seed oils, green tea extract, etc.). You can tell that this subject really fires you up. It's great! Makes me want to clear out all the bad food in my cabinets or fridge that I make excuses for!! This is such an important topic, too, because, from what I remember you saying, you rectifying your diet is one of the key things you've done to restore your health. You are a walking advertisement for clean, healthy eating-it's brought you so far. Anyhow, I know you've talked about this topic before, but every time you talk about it, it reinforces my desire to eat well and take care of my body better. LD my man, you look great and sound so cheerful in this video! Congrats on 13k subs, woohoo!! 🥳🎉I really enjoyed the live on Thursday it was lots of fun! Yeah, my diet has not been the best lately and definitely needs work. Poor diet can pickle your liver just as bad as alcohol, if not worse in some cases. My dad is an MD and he's been seeing a rise in young people with liver disease, but not all of them are drinkers! Too much sugar/carbs and processed food is horrible for you, and those seed oils too like you said! I'm trying to clean up my diet, but it's not easy, especially with the holidays coming up! I've been binging on licorice and jolly ranchers lately, lol! Thanks for sharing this info, LD! God bless! ❤

I didn't realize seed oils were bad for your liver health. I knew they were highly inflamatory to the body in general, and I avoid at all costs. Sadly, almost all processed foods contain them. There's actually some potato chips Costco sells made with avocado oil. I don't have a salt restriction, but an option to those who want once in awhile.

Great list, chef. But what about not eating. The benefits of fasting are remarkable. There's a lot of groundbreaking research around it. It's also been used for centuries. Plus, pine needles make a fantastic tea! It's LOADED with vitamin C, and it has a delicious lemony flavor. You can use most pine needles, but some species are off limits, That looks like white pine or pitch pine behind you in a lot of your videos. That would be good. As with anything, seek a reputable source before consuming wild edibles.

Loved your video. I have non-alcoholic fatty liver. Ive had it for a long time but didnt know it was that bad. My doctors kind of played it down. Recently, I had to have an ultrasound and they found I have both fat on my pancreas and my liver. My gastroenterologist did blood work and a fibroscan and it came back I have moderate to severe fibrosis. Ive had pain off and on in my upper abdomen but I have Gerd really bad and it can cause pain so now I dont know if it is caused by my Gerd or my liver or pancreas. Im scheduled to go see the doctor at the end of the month. I use to drink alcohol socially but not a heavy drinker. That was back in the 90's and since then I havent drank at all. I have migraines and have taken alot of perscription medicine with acetaminophen over the years and Ive read thats really bad for your liver. Im also addicted to sweets. Lol. You sound just like me as far as sweets go. Your video was very helpful tonight as I know I definitely need to change my diet. The bad thing for me is Im not much of a meat eater. Hi LD, you are so right about seed oils! Its something people overlook, but up until about 80 years ago, they weren't really around. People cooked in the animal fats that come with the meat, ir with butter, or pressed olive oil which is not a seed oil, but a fruit oil. So, they used natural sources of fat.
Seed oils are very highly processed, with great heat, and the final product is nothing like that bit of oil you would find in the seed.
Seed oils include canola oil, also known as rapeseed oil, soybean oil, sunfower oil, safflower oil, etc, and so-called 'blended' vegetable oil (which is not made from vegetables, if you check the labels.)
We have got sicker in the last 80years since we have been eating manufactured products, unstead of real food.
As you said, LD, just stay away from them. Just because we can make fake foods in factories, and call them 'food', doesnt mean we should eat them.
    All the best!

I just went through a 6 day detox at a hospital. I actually went there for a substance abuse evaluation to get into a treatment center but the counselor said since I had drank within the last 72 hours I would need to go through a medical detox before I could be admitted to the treatment center. I waited 5 hours in the emergency room to be seen by someone. They took a blood sample and a urine sample. My potassium came back low and was admitted to a room in the ER. I got an IV of potassium which burns and two huge potassium pills. When I was stable I was taken to the medical detox. They will give you medication like benzodiazepines to ease your withdrawal and depression. Medical detox is the way to go.
