I think people need to understand that the Chinese car industry is really huge with more individual car brands than other countries. As such, the range of quality is also very diverse, from absolute death traps to high quality vehicles like these that can compete among the more established global marques.

AEB is the next big safety feature that needs to become mandatory for all vehicles ASAP. It would eliminate so many unnecessary crashes and deaths each year. Perimeter warning indicators (front, back and side) would also go a long way towards eliminating unnecessary traffic deaths.

In the field of traditional fuel vehicles, China started a lot late, and the Western and Japanese auto industries have long been quite mature. However, in the field of new energy vehicles in the 21st century (especially in the field of electric vehicles), the development and market of electric vehicles in China has gradually matured. At present, the top five sales of electric vehicles in China are all Chinese brand vehicles. Although Tesla is selling well, In recent years, Tesla has ceased to dominate.

Why would an impact safety rating depend on electronic safety features such as autonomous emergency braking(exception is Euro NCAP)? The global NCAP score just tells you how much is the occupant safety on frontal impact at specified speeds. AEB, lane keep assist etc don't matter, just the number of airbags, chasis construction is captured by the score.

Some people often claim the Chinese car market is very big but it just because of their domestic market.
