Just came across your video. Don’t know if anyone mentioned it but I would lay down transfer paper down on the mat first, sticky side up. Then top with your medium. It should eliminate the leather moving on the mat. Hope that helps.
Cool video, looking for ideas to create leather tags for my wife’s hats that she knits. I use a Cricut Maker 3 to cut the pieces for my leather products with a knife blade. You can use the knife blade with the explore as well, and also, instead of using the transfer paper that cricut makes? I use Con-Tact adhesive paper. Cut the size of contact adhesive you need, peel it and stick it to the non-flesh side of the leather. Stick that to a strong grip mat, with the finished side of the leather facing up not down. The machine will not scratch the top side of the leather, as I’m cutting 4-5 and sometimes 6 oz leather. One last thing, the star wheels should be pushed all the way to the right of the roller bar on the cricut machine, as these wheels will actually bubble up/pull up the leather as they roll on it
Thank you for sharing! Yeti is sooooo cute
Love my new beanie!!! Such great quality!! Thanks Nat & Yeti!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thank you! So glad you got one you loved, can't wait to see you in it with your matching scarf!
your work is very nice, thank you for the tutorial
This was so fun to watch and you are soul beautiful! Eyes on another level.. Thank you for sharing!
Thank you for watching! I appreciate your time and I checked out your channel. You’re definitely soul beautiful too!
That wall with the shadow figures is dope!
Thank you so much!
Cool beenies!! ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🌠🌈
You know it! ✨
Love your beanie tags! To prevent that slipping with the leather... try a super grip purple fabric mat (the color of the mat determines the grip strength of the mat), use a deep point blade (the one in the black housing), use painter's or heavy masking tape on the outer edge of the leather to secure it to the mat, and use a bray tool to really push the leather into the mat.
Have you tried the PinPen weeding tool?
Thank you! Definitely getting a purple mat and the deep point blade. I’m having fun learning all this machine can do! I have not tried the PinPen weeding tool, do you use it?
Great info. Thank you.
You need the purple mat and deep point blade
Yes 🙌🏻 definitely going to get a deep point blade. Kinda of just recently realized how many different kinds of blades there are! Which is the purple mat? This one definitely took a little beating after this lol
@@natandyeti the green mat is the basic one whereas the purple mat a strong grip! Would work best either leather and thicker card stock among other materials that need a stronger adhesive than the green mat 😊
I cut leather on the purple mat AND STILL need to tape it down. I bought .25 inch roll of masking tape to hold it down
it also helps to use parchment paper (if you don't have teflon cover) on top of the design before sticking that hot iron on the design.
Good job
Cut the leather smaller and tape with masking tape all around the edges to prevent slipping, works like a charm, it takes a bit longer since your working on a smaller piece
Okay, that AND a deep point blade? I still only have the blade it came with 🤭
Very nice
Thanks 🙂 it was nice making them!
Use a purple cutting mat and use a deep cut blade on normal cut. To help keep it on the mat, use a piece of transfer tape to stick to your leather. Also use the painter's tape to hold it down.
Yes, painters tape has become my best friend lol
I ❤Yeti!
Thanks!! Me too! 🥰🥰
Purple Strong Grip mat and Deep Point Blade is what I use for cutting leather
Me too!
Great content! New subscriber!!
Yay! Does a happy dance with Yeti! Lol
☺️ 👍🏻
I saw another video where they said it will shift if you dont move the white rollers to the side. It can also cause it too jam.
clean your mat and you wont have cutting issues. least that works for me
Where do you get your hats. They look so cute with the little doggy tags.
You need to move your star wheels all the way to the right so it doesn't push down on the leather.
Try using some contac paper on your mat sticky side up and stick leather on it . Your mat may not be sticky enough.
You are too cute! Love it
Thank you Regina!
The first thing that got my attention is your face. You are beautiful! Thank you for this video. ❤
☺☺ Thank you! Glad I could help with a side of cuteness!
Try transfer tape on fuzzy side of leather and then sticking that to the mat. And taping all edges with masking tape🤷🏻♀️
Did you use a shape in Design Space or a leather tag template? I’m trying to understand how you cut the tags with holes.
What size rivet are you using?
Where did you get your beanies from? Link? Came out nice! Perseverance!!!
Do we need to mirror the designs. ?
tape it down before cutting it and make sure the tape is not in the way of the cut
What are the size dimensions that your use for your leather?
Love the beanies. Who do you wholesale from?
Hey! These are from Amazon. You can find plenty of options there.
Ou as tu acheter le cuire et les crochet
love this, how big are your tags
1 inch wide by 3 inches long
Have you thought about doing this with normal tan leather and “engraving” it with the designs
I would absolutely love that!
also if you call cricut they have really good people that will help you and can tell if it is the machine or the operator (you) no pon . I call them on a regular bases and they help me out tremendously. Try calling them and letting them know what is going on with your cuts, the machine whatever you think the problem is also go to your cutting page for cricut and it tells you which cut to use for which type of material you are using ok. hope this helps
Yes, good to know! It's been a lot of trial and error for me. I appreciate the tip!
@@natandyeti good morning, you are welcome sorry for the delayed response.
Use purple mat and move your rollers out of the way
What does it mean to move the rollers?
@@natandyeti the white rollers on the bar the mat goes under when u do thicker material you want to slide those white rollers to the right of the bar they are on
Love the video but I need a little more info. What is the dimensions of the leather tag you are using?
Thank you! The leather tags are 1 in x 3 in
Love this how to video. I am just starting out myself. Can I ask your $$ for the beanies?
Good luck in starting out! Gets really fun. Here's a link to the blank beanies.

do you make all your beanies?
I do all the customization on top of hand-picked pieces. Luckily there are already so many beautiful things made in the world. Some just need to be brought to ✨life✨
Do you sew?
what size are the smash rivets?
8mm x 6mm
Are these tags washable?
Yes and the vinyl. Probably not for life but it should get you through. The vinyl has a lifespan of ~50 washes.
