Hi Jamel and Jamel's fans! I saw BOC in concert a long time ago. They are such a fun band to watch live because they move around onstage a lot, and really interact with each other and with the audience. Most of today’s so-called music is computer generated and not created by passionate musicians and writers. The big money people have ripped off the music industry. There will never be a 70’s or 80’s when it comes to music, unfortunately but we’re glad that you are enjoying the ride that guys like myself refuse to abandon because it’s so damn good!
With the ability to self publish on the web now, we might have a chance to have real musicians get their material in front of the public. It can be done. You just have to be persistent and take advantage of every angle available. Individuals have the ability to make songs that don't like they were recorded in a basement. Somebody will hit it big in some genre other than hip hop soon. I mean BIG.
If you earnestly look around, you can still find good music out there, but yeah, it's harder. Here's a song I found. Idk these people at all, but I love the song for some reason. ruclips.net/video/oqP2GylCKQI/видео.html

Heaven Forbid is one if a few planned remastered reissues coming out in the next few years. They already rereleased Cult Classic.
Astronomy is an awesome trip. Love that song
Good news, Heaven Forbid is on Spotify too!
@@tomanderson9202 Sadly, it's not. The track listings are there, but you aren't actually able to listen to the songs :(
@@SonbladeX But...I'm actually listening to the album on spotify right now o.o
One of my all time, feel good favorite songs!
ONE OF THE GREATEST SONGS OF ALL TIME
Veteran of The Psychic Wars LIVE 1981 IS amazing Brilliant Guitar solo by Buck Dharma
These guys were always deep and dark . One of their albums has a photo of an ME 62 the first jet built by the Nazis . They have songs about dominance and submission ....they were something else
I got to see them live twice in the late 70s or early 80s. Great live band
Let me throw out a bit of a strange one I haven't seen mentioned yet -- *'Flaming Telepaths'.* Or, if you want something _really_ strange, *'Joan Crawford'.*
Joan Crawford has risen from the grave
Excellent song ! 😎
YESSS!! Joan Crawford is a cool one!
Joan Crawford is one of those songs that you can't forget.
Nosferatu
@@christopherword8515 Definitely a spooky vibe to that one, and they tell a real story with it.
‘81, Freshman in high school. Had this “Cassette”! Jamel, I’m sure you’ve heard this in passing. It was played a lot.
I cannot imagine not having the great music we grew-up on. My children was raised on this great music! Rap and HipHop was banned, didn’t want the negative influence.
Love watching you ‘get’ the lyrics as you read along. You’re awesome.
Awesome!! Try “SLOW RIDE” By
- FOGHAT. 👍😎🎧🔥🔥
Slow Ride, Take it Easy..
tigerback62 Yess! Lol Always loved that song! 😂 also the Movie Dazed and Confused! 👍😎
Absolutely No knock on the studio version but I would recommend the Foghat Live version
make sure you get the Full Song there's a 4 minute version floating around youtube that leaves out the bass solo. ruclips.net/video/DfwsXn5n8HU/видео.html
Yassss!!!
excellent vod! :D thanks man, blue oyster cult is a solid group, lot's of great songs like others have mentioned: astronomy, black blade, cities on flame with rock and roll, marshall plan, etc.
If you're wondering where you heard this song, they played it a lot in Joe Dirt
It was 1978. I was age 19. Living in Tampa on 40th Street near the Hillsborough River, I had a hiking habit. Then as now.
Making my way along nearby Hannah Avenue, I saw a ticket stub. Or so I thought. It was an actual full ticket to the BOC concert in Lakeland the following weekend!
I’m crazy, and I’m magic.:)
Jamal...STeve Miller Band's "Abracadabra" "Swingtown" "Jungle Love" and Rock 'N Me" are Amazing! Plus so much more...Great Band!
Thanks.
Definitely needs to hit up some Steve Miller
Steve Miller Band is excellent
Abracadabra sucks.
How about The Joker if your doing Steve Miller Band? I agree with the rest of the choices, except for Abracadabra.
@@doby1buddy2 Yeah, Abracadabra sucks...it was only #1 on the U.S. Hot 100 in 1982.
I'm new to the channel and I appreciate seeing how much you genuinely enjoy this. This is one of my favorite bands of all time and I feel as if they're one of the most underrated. Check out Then Came the Last Days of May and Cities on Flame with Rock n Roll (if you haven't already).
Song is 1981, founded in 1967 in new york state, "the thinking mans rock & roll band" was a term named about their music
It sounds familiar because it is. There are parts of this song all over pop culture. It’s been in my classic rock playlist forever. Love them
Yesssss, “Veteran of the Psychic Wars”!
I love this band Jimi Hendrix was into science fiction and there you have it he basically invented everything modern music
1982, I believe. Oregon Jam at Autzen Stadium in Eugene, Oregon. Loverboy. Joan Jett. Foreigner. And BLUE OYSTER CULT! All day long in the hot sun in a football stadium. And there seemed to be some smoky substance in the air - all day long...
Saw them with Black Sabbath,,,,the Black and Blue Tour 🔥🔥🔥😎
The thing about BOC is they have so much good material... I'm loving this rabbit hole you're going down. Keep BOC coming!
Check out dancing in the ruins!
Used to follow these guys around the Tri State back in the day. Saw them Live around 50 times. A Great Live band! Check out Dancin In The Ruins . It is the sequel to this song.
stretchgilbert them and Foghat....I’m in CT and saw them many times...
@@laurakali6522 Yes great memories! I moved from NYC to Az in '04 and I've seen them several times out here including last summer. Still holdin it down.

Loved that moment of recognition!
This is a great song. Tremendous melodic playing throughout and very witty lyrics, a hallmark of the band. Very glad you enjoy it.
"very witty lyrics"? Huh?
Jeff A. Taylor Pretty good for some guys from LI.
You can't define them or categorize them- boogie woogie, blues, bluegrass, jazz, rock, hard rock, heavy metal all in one !! Their moto is "On tour forever". The first 3 albums
Some great mid-80's rock and outfits, try "She Sells Sanctuary", or "Rain", by The Cult (not to be confused with Blue Oyster Cult).
Oh YESSSSSS - practically every song on their debut album "Love" is a master piece in the context of 1985. Like The Cure, The Sisters Mercy or Fields of the Nephelim they created their very own musical sub-genre and were The Cult ;)
Also Fire Woman by The Cult. Great song.
Electric is a masterpiece. Love Removal Machine, Wild Flower and Little Devil are epic!
Love this song my favorite BOC song, thanks for sharing. Play Train CALLING ALL ANGLES.
Man, I love this band!
Later listen the "After Dark" song from that album. It's pure dinamite!
Greetings from Mexico City! 🇲🇽
Hi Jamel and Jamel's fans! I saw BOC in concert a long time ago. They are such a fun band to watch live because they move around onstage a lot, and really interact with each other and with the audience. They are also a little funny looking in a good way, because there are a lot of them, they almost all play guitar, and the are almost all short. Thank you Jamel for this reaction video.
I’ve got a couple from ‘75 for ya, Jamel - Fooled Around and Fell in Love” (album version) by Elvin Bishop and “I’m Not in Love” by 10cc. Great year for rock music. Love ya, man!
I'm Not In Love by 10cc GREAT!!
I listen to this band everyday. My favorite album and song.
Blue Oyster Cult: Dominance and Submission
the ending Buck Dharma solo on that track is epic.
They're one of those bands that totally bridged the gap between the 70s and 80s.
I mean BIG.
It’s funny how people admire that era of music like the way a classical music enthusiast loves music during the Mozart, Beethoven era.
If you earnestly look around, you can still find good music out there, but yeah, it's harder. Here's a song I found. Idk these people at all, but I love the song for some reason.

straight up ignorance on display here.. im 50 and and have never lost interest in following what underground musicians were doing, where as you sound like your opinions are being formed by the garbage your exposed to at the local shopping mall
@@monogramadikt5971 *you're. If you're going to use the word "ignorance", at least use basic grammar.
Man I love your channel. You single handedly are a beacon of hope for cross genre, cross cultural acceptance. It ia SO refreshing and positive.
BOC is amazing. You should try "Astronomy" by them.
The live version from Some Enchanted Evening.
@@lgbass Agreed - I love Buck's voice when he sings this one on Imaginos, but Eric's voice is more dynamic and has a roughness on Some Enchanted Evening that makes it for me.
@@Panicagq2 I totally agree. And let's not forget that blistering solo!
It has to be with Flaming Telepaths connected
I started following these guys in the late '60s and they are putting out a record this year. Love it.
They put out soooo much great music in the 70's...my favorite album was Secret Treaties!
"Dominance/Submission"
I prefer Tyranny And Mutation but honestly anything from their first 3 is close!
Jaykee the Wof: dear sir. luis and I would put the Some Enchanted Evening LP to play all night long on Ruben Torrez's lp player back in fall of 1985. Luis and I were lost in a new world going to college in Austin, Tx. Somehow, this music, these lyrics rocked us into sleep, we held our tears of loneliness and...simply went to sleep. Veterna of psychic wars, burning for you..all these songs faded away as we sought a future in the next day.
Luis: yes. BOC was always there all those years and all those nights ago. We appreciate your reaction to this music. back then, we grew up with it. may be still alive because of it.
Jaykee the Wolf: glad to see a new person such as yourself, appreciates that "something" in this music.God bless you.
