This album contains some of the heaviest metal known to man. Few even come close. You should take some time to get to know this entire album. It's outstanding, start to finish.
@@julien2231 True. I don't listen to a lot of metal. I consider the vast majority of it to be complete and utter garbage. I'll also admit that my qualifications for metal differ from most. The lyrical content is the most critical part of the metal equation. The tone of the guitars, the tempo, the style of the vocals etc are less critical.
@@julien2231 When it comes to music we're all more or less quick to judge. Particular as we age. At some point you figure out what is appealing to your ears, and what is not. It's unavoidable. I will say though, most of the music I listen to on a regular basis, the stuff that I would consider favorites, I didn't really like the first time I heard it, but did contain something in it that somehow compelled me to continue listening. BOC is a perfect example. I don't think I liked any BOC albums on the first listen. It's not the most easy to listen to music. But once it gets it's hooks into you, it doesn't let go. After a while you pick up on the brilliance of it, and the way it taps into and channels the "magic", for lack of a better term. If you get to that point with it you'll realize it's extraordinarily "metal". That's why I say few even come close. Most musicians, even though they have the sound, and lyrical content, can't tap into the magic. Only a select few can do that. BOC has all the necessary elements and then some. Same goes for any style of music. Have you ever listened to Stravinsky? That dude must have been in league with the devil. He composed some brilliant stuff. It's like progressive rock/metal classical music. Very difficult to listen to and get to know though. In other words, yes I'm sometimes quick to judge, but not always. If the musicians are tapping into the magic, I generally stick with it. If I'm not picking up on any magic, I turn it off.
@@jbred6049 but you say the vast majority is utter garbage, which is false. Of course if you take commercial metal, it is all garbage. You must go outside of the cesspool of commercial music.

Most of today’s so-called music is computer generated and not created by passionate musicians and writers. The big money people have ripped off the music industry. There will never be a 70’s or 80’s when it comes to music, unfortunately but we’re glad that you are enjoying the ride that guys like myself refuse to abandon because it’s so damn good!
With the ability to self publish on the web now, we might have a chance to have real musicians get their material in front of the public. It can be done. You just have to be persistent and take advantage of every angle available. Individuals have the ability to make songs that don't like they were recorded in a basement. Somebody will hit it big in some genre other than hip hop soon. I mean BIG.

Says 1981 online. Before my time but my parents listened to this regularly. One born in 63 and the other 67, so I'm glad when I see other people know this music.
I am so glad I grew up in the 70's and 80's. I was born in the 60's but I was too young then to remember much. We were able to experience revolutions in music, in society and so many signs of strength the young kids nowadays might try and duplicate but don't have the drive to really knock down some walls. I think us older people are stronger because of what we saw, heard and, experienced.

1982, I believe. Oregon Jam at Autzen Stadium in Eugene, Oregon. Loverboy. Joan Jett. Foreigner. And BLUE OYSTER CULT! All day long in the hot sun in a football stadium. And there seemed to be some smoky substance in the air - all day long...
Saw them with Black Sabbath,,,,the Black and Blue Tour 🔥🔥🔥😎
"I'd just rather listen to this than the music today". Welcome to the death of art.
Saw them in 2018 at Alice Cooper’s Hasty Pudding Concert Fundraiser. THEY WERE FANTASTIC LIVE !!!! Back in their beginning, they auditioned for Alice Cooper.
I've always LOVED this song. Thanks so much, great memories from high school!
I love how much variety of sound BOC has. Career of evil is another of their 'greatest hits'
'Buck's Boogie' from the live LP ('On your Feet, On Your Knees') is one of the best live jams.
Please do “Southern Cross” by Crosby, Stills, and Nash. You won’t regret it!
I got to see them in a tour of Canada about 35 years ago. They were amazing.
good one
You mean Southern Man?
Good choice
those harmonies....
Chances are, the band you're thinking of stole FROM BOC! They're are severely underrated and have been around since 1970! My favorite band of all time!!!!!
In high school we would sing along " Don't fear the reefer".
Duncan DeVolld
What year(s) did you go to school!? :-D
We yelled "don't block the reefer (colloquially known as bogarding)" at the greedy or half passed out - ones.... different school system here but between 15 and 19 years of age.
@@chivalryalive GRADUATED IN 77
I saw them in 1982 in Rochester NY. Got right up to the stage. Amazing concert. One of the best I've ever been to.
Man, I love this band!
Later listen the "After Dark" song from that album. It's pure dinamite!
Greetings from Mexico City! 🇲🇽
I listen to this band everyday. My favorite album and song.
This album contains some of the heaviest metal known to man. Few even come close. You should take some time to get to know this entire album. It's outstanding, start to finish.
You clearly dont listen to metal lol.
Yes a lot of songs have metal elements but lets not exagerate here!
@@jbred6049 true metal has everything you asked for. I see you are quick to judge. You should broaden your horizon.
Check out "Joan Crawford", one of my personal faves, as always, amazing lyrics, and incredible arrangements and musicianship.
My son absolutely HATES current music, and he's only 7! He prefers classic rock, lol! That and 80s metal. ;)
Good for you! Shelter your child from the likes of Justin Beiber and Cardi b and other disgusting excuses for music.
Smart kid
Man your kids rad
Good kid 💪🏽
your son should be in a school for gifted children
you hit it on the head ! You have answered the question of the ages ! YES the music from mid 60s thru mid 80s is the BEST music ever made !!
This should have been a major hit for them, but just came at a bad time for rock music as far as charting went. The hook at the chorus is stellar.
One of the best things that happened in 2020, was a great new BOC album!!
BOC is amazing. You should try "Astronomy" by them.
The live version from Some Enchanted Evening.
@@lgbass Agreed - I love Buck's voice when he sings this one on Imaginos, but Eric's voice is more dynamic and has a roughness on Some Enchanted Evening that makes it for me.
@@Panicagq2 I totally agree. And let's not forget that blistering solo!
It has to be with Flaming Telepaths connected
This song is about the band themselves what they go through out on the road, and what they feel about what they're doing... I'm burnin for you!
Blue Oyster cult has consistently been one of the most badass and hardest-working rock bands in the business since the beginning!! They are truly Hardened Road Warriors! ✝️🎼🤘
People are going to start suggesting you check out the Steve Miller Band any minute now...
I love Steve Miller band
Steve Miller band was HORRIBLE. LAMEASS BS music and the dude is a POS
@@jaysantos536 Citation needed.
The guitar riff you keep referring to was used in the movie “Joe Dirt”, that’s probably where you recognize it from.
Hey it's the 77 year old grandma, got to see these guys back in 86 or 87 when they opened for Ozzy Ozbourn in the twin cities Minnesota. My first and only concert I have ever been to. Was 7th row back on the floor, it was great. Had a very good time. best part was my husband got free tickets and back stage passes from Ozzy himself at a down town St. Paul AA meeting.
Buck Dharma, is the MAN. One of the best guitarrist of all time, pure feeling not that speed nonsense. You can check a Hear 'n Aid video of Ronnie James Dio called "Stars" were he sings with a bunch of 80s guitarrist including Buck Dharma, this guy Owns the game, He plays simple but effective like David Gilmour.
"Flat Out" is an awesome album.
Brian May will always be my favorite, but he's a good guitarist too.
I love watching people enjoy classic rock 😍😍🎶🎶
I mean BIG.
It’s funny how people admire that era of music like the way a classical music enthusiast loves music during the Mozart, Beethoven era.
If you earnestly look around, you can still find good music out there, but yeah, it's harder. Here's a song I found. Idk these people at all, but I love the song for some reason.

straight up ignorance on display here.. im 50 and and have never lost interest in following what underground musicians were doing, where as you sound like your opinions are being formed by the garbage your exposed to at the local shopping mall
@@monogramadikt5971 *you're. If you're going to use the word "ignorance", at least use basic grammar.
I'm new to the channel and I appreciate seeing how much you genuinely enjoy this. This is one of my favorite bands of all time and I feel as if they're one of the most underrated. Check out Then Came the Last Days of May and Cities on Flame with Rock n Roll (if you haven't already).
"Hot Rails to Hell" is one of their early songs. It has a raw edge to it that is hard to find any more.
One of my favs since I was a young buc...keep in mind some of us grew up as kids listening to these songs...LONG before we could grasp their message in the song...this is why some of yall doing authentic reactions is good for us who been hearing these songs decades before you have
We gotta get you listening to some Golden Earring, both "Radar Love" and "Twilight Zone." Both rockin' classics!
Twilight Zone is mandatory listening!
One of my favorite songs of all time. Just so satisfying in all ways.
ONE OF THE GREATEST SONGS OF ALL TIME
Says 1981 online. Before my time but my parents listened to this regularly. One born in 63 and the other 67, so I'm glad when I see other people know this music.
Song is 1981, founded in 1967 in new york state, "the thinking mans rock & roll band" was a term named about their music
Some great mid-80's rock and outfits, try "She Sells Sanctuary", or "Rain", by The Cult (not to be confused with Blue Oyster Cult).
Oh YESSSSSS - practically every song on their debut album "Love" is a master piece in the context of 1985. Like The Cure, The Sisters Mercy or Fields of the Nephelim they created their very own musical sub-genre and were The Cult ;)
Also Fire Woman by The Cult. Great song.
Electric is a masterpiece. Love Removal Machine, Wild Flower and Little Devil are epic!
Hard to believe this songs been out almost 40 years. The late seventies and early eighties was a great time for hard rock. Listening to Riot on vinyl so far today.
Been seeing a lot of Psychic wars. Also check out Sole Survivor, Take me Away, and Black Blade (based on the origin of the Elric fantasy series).
I got to see them live twice in the late 70s or early 80s. Great live band
For something different from BOC, listen to Dominance and Submission from their Secret Treaties album. Probably their best album IMHO. ruclips.net/video/kpKJUa6IoBs/видео.html
I'm glad I grew up in the 80s with that awesome music ❤
Awesome!! Try “SLOW RIDE” By
- FOGHAT. 👍😎🎧🔥🔥
Slow Ride, Take it Easy..
tigerback62 Yess! Lol Always loved that song! 😂 also the Movie Dazed and Confused! 👍😎
Absolutely No knock on the studio version but I would recommend the Foghat Live version
