- Battery capacity not updated for extended period fix
@DJI @DJISupportGlobal how to fix dji battery capacity error
dji battery error according to DJI, if you don't use your batteries enough they will die out or you will get the battery capacity not updated error.
Possible fix for DJI Battery capacity not updated for extended period:
1. Make sure your battery discharges to about 5 to 10%
2. Wait a couple of hours
3. Recharge it until it's ready to go
5. Wait an hour after charge is complete
6. Then use it again
7. The problem might be solved
8. If you still see the Battery capacity not updated for extended period fix, put in a support ticket.
9. DJI may ask if you updated the firmware. Try that too.
It will be covered over warranty. However if your battery is not within warranty it will be a pricy out of pocket expense. I'd still put in a support ticket. Anything beats buying a new battery.
Variety adds the spice to life.. Fly all your drones. Don't let them sit around.

Sometimes takes a couple times. Not sure why going so complex on it. Very strange to not have it take. My batteries following timing with timers and all. Got same error when bought mine used. First full cycle as directed mine good to go
I will try doing mine again as I’ve only done it once so I might get lucky👍
I have the same message and have tried the deplete/recharge solution but no luck. I bought the Avata 2nd hand at the start of winter and so haven’t used it so I suspect the battery may have degraded. I’m not in warranty so it looks like a new battery. I will try the firmware update first but I’m not holding my breath on that.
Thanks for the video as it shows the suggestions from DJI on forums and I wasn’t aware of the firmware update by connecting to a pc(or Mac🍏)
Bummer - hopfully the firmware update works.. Let us know how it goes.
@@How-to-by-Lou Well, I did the whole thing again-depleted the battery to 5%, cooled it in the fridge for 30 mins before charging, once charged, went back in the fridge for 30 mins before putting it in the drone. Pleased to report no warning👍
I’ll try it again tomorrow but fingers crossed 🤞
My battery wont turn on and flashes full green any ideas? Its pretty new i got it in August havent flown all summer
Hard to say - the batteries will flash as the bar is about to go out.. But try letting the battery die / go down to 10 5 then charge it again - wait an hour and then start up the drone. If that doesn't work put in a new support ticket with DJI - the battery should be covered under warranty
Where does it tell you battery level?
In the goggles. You will see the battery %
I don't see a solution. Bad video
You have to watch the video and try one of the solutions being done/provided in real time. This has worked for some but not for everyone, especially for folks who didn't watch the video
