Steve Lukather was and still is the greatest ever for my money, there are 1000's of great guitarists but very few with his creativity and feel, mental how he doesn't rate himself. A measure of how humble and grounded he is, Toto were absolute monsters on every instrument, music that will never die.
Steve Lukather is one of my all-time favorite guitar players, and he's such a cool and funny guy. I sure hope that he is still healthy and with us until Ringo's age and beyond. :)
Nothing at all wrong with the solo on Little Wing first off Steve, you are singing the song and playing the guitar not many people can do that Steve killer playing Brother and the bogner tone is awesome!
There is nothing I like about his playing , the tone is always over compressed or processed. What Hall of Fame guitar riff did he write , like Eddie or page or Hendrix or blackmore or iommi ? This term legend is over used , that would be like calling Bukovac or Landau a legend , haha , they are side men at best.
You ever hear the solos on “Rosanna?” Look up his discography and the thousands of solos he played on hit records. Seriously, you should know your shit before you talk shit about what this legend (yeah, I’m saying legend) has accomplished over 50 years in the business.
@@Hghgfgyd Tone is simply a taste. You may like chocolate frosting and I may hate it. You can’t deny the skill level of the man whether you like his tone or not.
@erikward5363 @erikward5363 @erikward5363 I went to musicians institute in 88 , next door neighbor was paul gilbert, I took lessons from Satriani at his house in 87 . Technique is only a tool , it doesn't define art or creativity or taste . Endless noodling is so boring . Kurt Cobain got in and got out , deliver the song and get to the F^#### ing point. . Otherwise if I wanted noodling , I would listen to Django if I wanted 1000 notes .
My #1 favourite guitarist of all time.
Let's be honest... Steve's music NEVER gets old. Session player, Toto, solo... It doesn't matter.
I never get tired of a Lukather interview.
luke's always hard on himself. he's gotta be proud of what he's accomplished
I can literally listen to Steve talk all day. So much insight and entertainment at the same time.
