I'm really enjoying tnx because they just never fail to surprise me,younite because like they continue to just leave me in no words,8turn because it just feels like there just being themselves as a group they performance just seems so fun and literally everything.
i dont know much about sets and props but cravitys set budget didnt feel that over the top to me? 😅its only a dining set and a door, actually i thought tnx looked a lot more expensive with the bed, giant wooden moth, and stairs set (which were all so cool i loved that performance)
also i really agree about how badly theyre approaching airing the episodes, to this day i still haven't found a way to watch all of episode 3 since the stream was already gone when i got to it a few hours after airing
idk but the expensive part of vity's performance would be the backup dancers and not the props, it was just a wheeled platform with two chairs, a table, and a door. i would agree that there were times that hyeongjun wasn't visible (aside from the intro, dance break, and the ending fairy) but i guess it really is a cravity thing that they will let everyone shine in their team performances since they let other members have memorable parts as well.
This is just my thought on the matter, I’m enjoying the show so far. However, the reason Kingdom was successful was because of the time it was released. Both Kingdom, and Queendom were released around 2019 through Covid. People had more time, and compare to now they weren’t as many survival shows. Plus, the groups were more equal in popularity. People are watching, but with 3 other survival shows set to happen in the next few weeks it’s a fight for relevance.
I never really thought of that but I agree. Also like you said the first couple of seasons had like decently big names and contestants who had already some impact in the industry. Like sure maybe they weren’t the top of the top, but I’m pretty sure most of them were actively competing, sometimes even beating the most popular groups, when they were at their peak. Compared to now, middle level groups are quite literally middle level in popularity and are almost stuck there, while before they more consistently competed and beat bigger groups despite their status
They also had way more famous artists. Here is a list of the most famous contestants from each Queendom/Kingdom Queendom 1: Park Bom, Aoa, Mamamoo and (G)i-dle. Kingdom: Stray Kids, Ikon, Ateez and Btob. Queendom 2: Kep1er, Loona and WJSN. Even Road To Kingdom 1 had more known people as they had The Boyz and Pentagon. The new show no one is really even known. Cravity and Oneus are upper middle, but the rest are nugus. Like never heard about that Crew something group before.
@@vixxexo6855 The CrewOne is new so that’s why. They literally debuted this year a few months ago. But I get what you mean, the only big name in the show is Taemin and he’s the MC.
FR!!! Mnet airing episodes through live streams was such a horrible choice :/ Because of the time limit there is to watch the episode before it gets deleted, I never got to watch episode 2 and 3 since they would be on air while I'm at school. By the time I had my break times to watch it, the episode would have already been deleted from the Mnet RUclips channel. And I think that mishap has negatively affected my enjoyment of the performances and show as a whole. I'm not someone who is usually invested in watching performances, but I actually remembered and thought about the performances in the self-evaluation round. That is part could be because I was able to watch episode 1 as Mnet did leave that particular episode up for much longer for me to actually have the time to watch it. I was able to understand the context of the show as well as the thought/creative process behind every performance, which is the aspect of Kingdom/Queendom that has peaked my interest the most, besides cool performances of course. The performances from round 1 just weren't that memorable for me, which could partly be a product of that lack of context I had on what is going on in the show. I'm pretty sure I forgot about 2/3 of everything that happened within episodes 2 and 3. I think I liked Cravity's and TNX's performance the most (overall), but even then, there were gaps in my memory about those performances. Despite my growing disinterest in the show as a whole with round 1, I'll keep continuing to watch it mainly for Tempest, as an iE myself (although I haven't been enjoying their performances that much) :( I'm sort of excited for round 2 since I tend to like when groups perform and reimagine their own songs rather that covering songs from other artists, but I do I have low expectations considering previous performances I've seen from this franchise (Kingdom/Queendom) in recent years. Sorry for the rambling... I've really enjoyed watching your commentary on Road to Kingdom and how you explain what is going on in the episodes, even though your personal rankings are quite different from mine ^_^
I agree with pretty much everything you said. Personally I feel like the GOOD performances are some of the BEST modern Queendom or Kingdom performances we’ve had, in like loona queendom and bora intro levels of incredible. But every thing else is meh at best and forgettable at worst. I will say imma be honest I’m not excited for next week since I’m scared it’ll be another intro stage situation where all the stages will feel the same. Also thanks for compliment :)))
May i ask why do you think Cravity will have their underdog storyline? Is it because they didn't perform on the first episode? To me they don't seem like the underdog. On the first episodes both the public and the groups there were expecting a lot from them so that doesn't seem underdog for me
You're right!! Cravity is NOT the underdog. They're from the Top 5 company:Starship Entertainment. They won several awards and accolades. They have a massive global fandom. They're basically the StrayKids in this competition competing with underdog groups.🙊🙈🙉
@@razraze right?! that was my thought haha being completely honest I started watching it because of them (I know some of their songs and was curious as of what they would do) but ONEUS is stealing all of my attention
@@manale9366 to be honest, what makes it similar is the dark concept that the groups have been doing, its kind of repetitive although it looks different. judging by episode three, there might be some flavour concept wise, but like the creator said that it could be the repetitive acrobatics that would drain down the performance
For me, its getting frustrating the no subs thing and its whats making many people lose interest (i started the 1st ep with some friends and RN im the only one that watches the episodes because of the subs, even if they stan one group) About the performances im enjoying them so far, though i think that TNX is having less recognition than they should, for me they're my favourites because of how involved they are on leaving an impact and making different and storytelling performances Cravity is also doing good but they haven't caught my attention that much yet (its literally tragic that their performance on ep1 didn't count because after watching it It was on my top4), and with oneus its incredible how much It shows that they have more experience than the others. In contrast, 8turn (being the most recent group) is also doing a great job For me Tempest and The Crew One didn't stand out much, they're good but didn't leave a huge impact compared to the others And about Younite i think they were the only group i hadnt heard about before the show, but they are my second favs (after TNX), their performances are really good and specially the Bite me one left me speechless (i may even stan them after RTK) Anyway i hope they start putting subs or imma go burn mnet oml😭
The live streaming thing is bad, but live streaming without subs is a crime. Im so tired of mnet. Also even tho im enjoining a bit the show it just feels like a slow burn to watch cravity win and dont get me wrong, i like cravity but its so boring knowing who the top3 will be bcs of the insane difference there is in fandom sizes
I disagree. I think its fun. I personally like all the kingdom series and found them great. The groups this year are just not that well known. A Show with groups like seventeen, TXT ect would Look different
