I’m a writer that wants to make a webtoon, problem is I’m not a great artist. I already have a few stories I would like to bring to life as a webtoon. And thank you for this video, it helps a lot!! EDIT 9/17/2021: I finally have money to buy something to draw digitally but have no clue what I’m comfortable with 🤗
Pingalu2 shanks :3 I actually don’t have a friend that draws full time but I’m going to college soon so I’m hoping to meet some art students that might want to help but I can also just keep trying to get better at drawing xD
Esther Bellinazzi I’m interested! Is it okay if I can see your art style? There is a type of an art style in looking for, I’m sorry if I seem judgemental and such. Some of the stories I’m creating have each their own variations of certain art styles that fits them :)
Hey future peeps who want to be a web toon artist(and are in school) here’s a suggestion that I have. Before you even publish, make around 48 episodes. Why you ask? Well you see my friends there’s 12 months in a year, and there’s roughly 4 weeks In each month, so 4•12 is 48. You can post once a week. Now if you have all the panels made, post next school year, because then you won’t have problem with school work, and making comics. Unless you want to make changes to some(which might happen) but it’ll be easier trust. I’m going to following up on this procedure, and I thought some of you guys would want to hear it... or read it I mean.😸
theres 52 weeks in a year also it would take about a year to make a year's worth of comics and people usually don't want to wait that long to start uploading or spend a whole year making a comic and then it just flops but they spent all their time on it
Sophie Bates true, I was just saying it for the people in school mainly because I know it can be busy, school work, sports, and work. I was just thinking maybe in the summer you can get started. Also I would think it depends on your art style and or speed, because I’ve seen people get a big art piece done fast😂 but not everyone can get things done fast
I wouldn’t recommend doing this. While it’s definitely good to create a buffer with a lot of episodes, 48 is waaaayyyy too much. Most people (especially stressed and busy high school students) will get burned out after the first 5 episodes, because they won’t get that rush of motivation from sharing their work with the world. Not to mention, you may come to regret certain storylines or scenes in your episodes when you realize that you want your story to go in a different direction than you originally envisioned a year ago. Uruchan mentioned at a fan-meetup that she originally planned John to be completely powerless when creating the first few episodes. However, when her fans began theorizing that John had secret powers, she decided to rewrite her original story because the new one would be more interesting. If she had created the entire comic beforehand, she wouldn’t have been able to make this interesting change. Is creating 48 episodes of your comic beforehand a bad thing? No, not at all. However, only professionals who have a godly sense of planning and scheduling can successfully pull that off. People should grow with their stories; not finish it in one go. You might miss things you hadn’t thought of earlier.
When you plan a webtoon story and then remember you can’t draw💀 Edit: it’s weird seeing all these ppl reply but it’s nice to know I’m not the only one😭
I really want my own WEBTOON I have so many ideas but I can’t draw that well or do backgrounds. I might just make a simple slice of life comic first then try a proper one later on! These tips will really help me though ☺️
I’m actually going to make a webtoon soon in the future, but there is a problem.. Story Plot ✅ Grammars✅ Characters✅ Drawing❌ I think i need to master my drawing skills before we start our online classes in August tho 🤔 Edit: yooooo It's been 7 months! I could perhaps say, I improved somehow but I still think I lack when drawing a human anatomy but the thing that bothers me the most is that I still can't find my art style. Every drawing that I've done are all completely different from others so... any tips in helping me find my art style?
Would love to read yours when you post it! I mostly like to read and encourage other artist, rather than creating my own lol but it would be a nice idea if I practiced drawing more. My friend is an artist and entered the webtoon contest (she's almost at 10 stars!) I heard it was hard meeting the deadline. It has an interesting twist ^..^ m.webtoons.com/en/challenge/criminal-detective-journey-of-the-heart-h/list?title_no=462577
Check out ONE's comics One Punch Man and Mob Psycho 100! He was in your exact situation but decided to make it anyway, and succeeded because the stories are so creative and fun! He's a huge inspiration to me because he had the right attitude. Even artists who are good at drawing use the excuse of "maybe I should wait til I'm better." Great art does draw people in, but it's not the only factor. :-) Good luck!
The Art of Bri Marie Well... It’ll probably take time.. I decided to finish all episodes first and then maybe I’ll post one by one episodes everyday. Oh, I can’t wait! Btw, I wanna be a storywriter and an architect at the same time so I think this career at my young age can be built up for me! (Lol, idk if my english right, I’m still at highschool tho)
remiirin You can use Magic Poser to design simple backgrounds, I use it because I can’t use Sketchup like you hahahahha and it’s extremely useful for the backgrounds.
Omg saw my webtoon at 2:13 😅😅😅 I started my webtoon last December 2018. I still have a problem in how I can tell the flow of the story. But writing the scripts and storyline in advance helps a lot! Thank you for these awesome tips! ✨🙌
Not a creator yet, but another tip to keep in mind about having the storyline: To have a beginning, middle, and end to the plot, have an outline, or *timeline*. Basically plot the main important events that happen throughout the story on a timeline or written out on an outline to make sure your story stays on the right track. It also helps to avoid the story writing problems Ms. Jin Kim mentions in the video that content creators run into because of a lack of planning. What’s great about a timeline is that you can also put in smaller details of what will happen in between the main events to organize what happens when, and more meticulously. Hope that made sense ^_^
Hi i have a question or two. Im planning on getting started on webtoon. I already have a series story and a planned ending, even a sequel series planned out. Do we really have to start with 3 chapters? Because before turning to webtoon to try and get my story out i would make my own hand made comic books. I have the first arc pretty planned out. How long can 1 chapter be?
I'm almost 300th episode of my Series "Oh My Ghost" and I never been mention on front page for discover on Webtoon for 2 years. XD Notice me Senpai LOL~! P.S Hard to gain new subs XD
I would say I needed this but I don't have a consistent art style, I have nothing to draw on, I wouldn't have the time, I do not have the talent to draw my own characters, my plot is all over the place and isn't in order, And if I somehow managed to make a webtoon after all these factors, I'm probably not old enough(I'm not even in High school yet) Edit: I also have no idea how to do Backgrounds, locations, or objects in general. Not to mention I'm also trash at perspective. Edit again: I suck at spelling correctly and my grammar isn't the best
!!! I STARTED DRAWING WHEN I WAS 12! I PRACTICED EVERYDAY. Study study study. Learn to draw fabric, learn to draw backgrounds, objects, observe shapes, study styles. Don’t stop observing and taking in things. I just turned 16 last month, and in a few months I plan to release my own webcomic. I used to put myself down because I wasn’t happy with my art, but when I stopped putting myself down and started to jot down notes on what I needed to improve and what I sucked at, my art started to get better and better. Honestly, the fastest way to improve is to create! I’ve been creating fanart for 3 years, and it has definitely helped boost MY understanding of art. Take the time to learn stuff properly. Draw from realism, and use references when needed! Remember that your current art is not it’s final form, and that your art in the future isn’t either. You are constantly improving even if it doesn’t seem like it!! 👏👏 Your age has nothing to do with your skill level! It’s your understanding that has everything to do with your skill. Other artists have worked day and night to create these comics and wonderful art, so don’t compare your art with theirs. Don’t hate yourself, look up to them, aspire to surpass them. I wish you luck on your art journey 👏👏👋💖💖
My personal two favourites are “I’m the grim reaper” and “lore Olympus” and I would like to make a WEBTOON but I’m afraid I might be to young but I do have all the tools needed :(
I'm 15 at it has been my dream to create a webtoon, I have always had this story in mind which I know will wow a lot of people if shared with the world, but I know it's not possible, my parents are very supporting but if I tell them this, I know they wont take me seriously, they will say Im too young and I already have so much to do with classes, school, exams etc. Which I guess they have a point, its not that easy creating a webtoon. I hope that one day I will be able to create my dream webtoon and share it with the world, I am not that good of an artist too so hopefully I can improve in my art skills as well!
Bruh you are very young what you should be doing right now is thinking about your history in full depth aka perfecting it and start to draw so in the future you can make that history into a webtoon
I was one of the first Webtoon readers on my class after a friend introduced me to the app. And now, half of my friends are Webtoon readers and more are still coming. Many of them are interested in making a Webtoon so this vid is going to be very helpful.👍
Go for it. The art isn’t that important as long as the story is good. Plus it could be fun going to your older episodes and seeing the ways you improved
You can do it! Every artist starts from somwhere. Begin at creating your first story, you'll be surprised how far you can go and improve. If you create a webtoon, post it! I support all artists🎨 My friend worked hard at webtoons and recently entered the contest as well. If you'd like to rate it and check it out, i'll leave the link n.n Would love to read yours when you post it! I mostly like to read and encourage other artist, rather than creating my own lol but it would be a nice idea if I practiced drawing more. m.webtoons.com/en/challenge/criminal-detective-journey-of-the-heart-h/list?title_no=462577
I just discovered I could publish my own comics on webtoon after using it for so long... I have a lot of stories already set and ready to go and I can draw but I've never made any comics tbh. So just researching at the moment, it seems many others are doing the same :) looking forward to reading all your works. Good luck!
I've been making comics way back Elementary grade. After College discovered that there's so many tools to make and publish your comics on line through many platforms. It's been one of my dreams, like me and my friends way back in our secondary level were all in a drawing major and we did indeed making comics of our own with their captivating titles. Haha... I've missed those days.
My story is almost complete (ideas, plot, characters etc) and all I have to do now is buy a digital tablet and a pc. Probably like 2 more years bcs I'm broke af lol
@@internetspectator6051 if i did start to develop a style id take small ideas from instagrammers bc i have like hundreds of art accounts i like,, and make my original art style once ive experimented with different types But overall i really like the look of ones that look like true beauty but with pastel palettes I also really like anime styled drawings Idk how to explain the art style but i like how TB is really easy to understand bc of the art and i think thats really important when making a webcomic Why do u ask and whats ur response for this too~ :)
@@PixelRUclips well if you ant a feel for anime/manga esque art id recommend this guy called mikeymegamega right here on youtube, just a warning..his art can be very..expressive, but perhaps you can incorporate some of his techniques into your own work. I also recommend looking up vids on perspective, anatomy etc. if you want to learn about perspective check out this guy called circle line art school on youtube.
This would be a good hosting site if they had a notification system for comments and subs, the environment wasn't so toxically competitive, and if the staff made up their minds about whether they allow mature content or not. They delete anything remotely mature despite having a tag for mature webcomics. Also people go around and flag lgbt+ webcomics, and doing downvote rades to keep certain webcomics at the bottom and no one does anything about it? That's kinda messed up, bro. It's discouraging so much work is going into stuff like this rather than fixing the issues with the site, and making it more creator friendly rather than a popularity competition. I can't tell you the last time I saw some new stuff in the Discover most popular, and weekly HOT section. At least on the desktop site hasn't changed in ages. On the upside, this video is really good. I'm glad you didn't say creators HAD to make vertical scrolling webcomics since not all of them look good in that format, and I personally am partial to traditional formatted comics.
Dani bro I completely agree with the notification stuff. It seems like such a simple feature yet it’s still not implemented. There needs to be better notifications, preferably like Instagram. About the toxic community... I somewhat agree with you, but I also disagree. The community is almost entirely made up of children and teens. You can tell by the nonsensical comments on the featured comics. There are definitely times when they get overly defensive about their favorite comics and harass other authors that have similar plots for “copying” their favorite series. Often times they can leave hurtful negative comments on beginner’s comics when the story doesn’t go the way they wanted it to. For the most part, it’s easy to ignore if you don’t delve too deep into the comment section. The comment ranking system that chooses the most liked comments to appear first does well to filter out the negative comments and place them at the bottom. Last I checked, the BL and GL comics were doing very well on Webtoon. Castle Swimmer was in the Top 5 Webtoons list for a solid month until it went on hiatus. The Canvas Hot Picks list is filled with gay romance comics which have hundreds of thousands of followers. Ratings don’t actually effect your comic that much (the algorithm favors subscribers, likes, and engagement way more) so people rate-bombing the comics aren’t actually doing much in the grand scheme of things. So I don’t really get where your point about LGBT stuff being unfairly treated on Webtoon is coming from. Also, I totally agree that the way they’re handling mature stuff is insane. The rules are vague and anything somewhat sexual is at risk of getting banned without warning. However, I don’t blame Webtoon too much for this issue, given how it mainly stemmed from Apple’s updated App Store guidelines. They started banning apps that showcased sexual content or excessive violence about a year ago I believe, so a lot of social media/entertainment companies began cracking down on mature content. Webtoon used to allow more mature content back in the day, but a large portion of their reader base have apple products, so they couldn’t risk getting banned from the App Store.
Thank you so much for this video! I started drawing my first episode yesterday, so this couldn't have come in a better timing. Also Croppy is a real lifesaver!
I am a very creative person. And I have been keeping an amazing comic (i think is amazing) that I have been working on, but haven't been given a chance to show many people. Until I found Webtoon thanks webtoon now i can put my comics on this!
@rakat sceptic I'm sorry I kept you waiting for so long, but the comic I'm working on is Flame Fist, he is a superhero that defeats Aliens, IDK yet im still working on it
I live writing and drawing however I never considered to put it together. I'm not the best artist but I'm willing to learn and get better. Wish me luck on my first webtoon!
Thank you so much for making this video 1. because I am at the point of possibly flopping my comic because my art style changes after every 4 months 2. I am researching information for making successful webcomics for my high school research paper. 3. If any are interested, my comic is called *"Shooting Star Silica"* all the art and the story is made by me, I just improve too fast when I draw too much.
im creating a story and i intend to post it on Webtoon,i'm still learning how to draw digitally(it's pretty difficult._.) but i'm not going to give up,this video was really useful for me,thank you so much :0
I couldn't draw, but I started learning and I mastered the heads now I'm working on hands and feet, I'll keep updating this, someone keep reminding me ;)
B4 or while making a comic, try to make fanarts for famous artists, people will start to notice you and'll eventually look into your page and read your comic
I keep seeing a lot of comments talking about having great story ideas but saying they can’t draw beautiful art You don’t need good art to tell a great story
I really want to make a webtoon, but 1 I don’t know the dimensions for each panel, and on some tutorials it says to put multiple panels on each page to work on at the same time, but how large do I make the page? 2 I use Medibang (at the moment) and I want to move to clip studio paint, but I’m not too sure on how much it costs and whether it’s worth it or not. Help?
ZeldaFox i think It needs to be 800 x 1200 ! I’m trying to make a webtoon too and i made lots of drawings then realized I messed up measurements. Lots of people said it was 800 x 1200, so as long as your panels fit within that
I’ve been thinking of making one myself. I, although not very, but is confident in my art. I’m just not consistent with it enough because I can’t draw one character twice, or it will look like different characters with same appearance. I got the plot going on but I guess I need more training lol Tips: If you are having an artist block, or something like that, you can do a DRAW THIS IS YOUR STYLE challenge. I’m having a burnt out and a sort of artistic block so I’m just taking people’s DTIYS challenge and joining it for funzies. I even posted one yesterday bc I finally gained some confidence:)
There's a series I have out now called, "Dreams that can be felt." Lol I guess I should have released 3 episodes. Well for what it's worth, episode 2 comes out tonight. I am currently working on Episode 3. I thought I should make them weekly. I estimate that it will take 9 episodes to finish this particular series since I have had the end in mind when I started it. If anyone's interested in the world ending, and video games - give it a read. This video makes sense. It is easy to wander off when making a comic book series. I have another one going on, and I had to stop making it so I could think of a way to end it.
I’ve always been interested in Mangas and story-telling. When I found WEBTOON I was in love as it was unique artwork. When I was younger I always wrote stories but I could only imagine it if I had drawn with them which is why I grew up admiring comics! I just struggle with Line Art. I was hoping to get myself a drawing tablet and pen. What is the best Programme to draw for webtoon on?
I've been writing and drawing my story since I was in 8th grade (I'm 20 now) and I just want to get it out there and have people enjoy it so bad and I think im almost at a stage where I think I'm ready
I think webtoon should have more opportunities for the canvas comics cause like in around 30 minutes after posting your comic on canvas it is like gone nobody ever finds it until they search for the name i mean i understand they would promote the stuff more they paid for but still please improve it a little webtoon there are many good but unrecognised comics out there!!
nikuel the weirdo Download the Chrome App and go to the Webtoon website. Go into settings on Chrome and click “View in Desktop Mode.” It will show you the publish button on the website, which will let you upload episodes.
Aaaah you showed Subzero (really gripping and enticing series) but they're on hiatus. It's really frustrating. They've created a great story and brilliant art! I miss theeeeeeeemmmmmmm
In the beginning when I first started uploading, I gotten over 1k subs on Webtoons. Then slowly to 2k. Now, I'm struggling to get more subscribers on there. My artwork is consistent and I make it detailed too with full color. I have the whole story already planned out since it's based on a true story. I'm just wondering how to get out there more so I'm trying to update more each month. orz (My webtoon is "Crystal Casualty" if you wanted to check it out.)
Has your comic been advertised on Webtoon’s featured page or the popularity lists at all? Usually comics get a lot of subscribers when they get a shout-out on Webtoon’s featured page or get in the Top 30 list on Discover, but then the subscribers stop coming in after your comic is no longer being advertised. Also, Jan through Feb is usually a slow month for subscribers because Webtoon’s reader base has to return to school/work after the holidays and they stop reading Webtoons for a bit. But don’t worry, there’s usually more readers during the summer and holiday seasons.
Has always be my dream to create/debut my own comic. But always stuck in my art style and storyline. As I was reading comic in webtoon, it's really inspired me to start somewhere, somehow. Found this video, subscribe to it & I hope this year I will be able to put my commitment to it and start my arts.
I’ve been looking to start a webtoon for a while now. But I’m currently in high school going to college so I didn’t have time. But what best time to start than during quarantine? Lol
Me and my friend are making a webtoon comic together just now, haven't started, but were drawing characters and backgrounds for ideas and this is helping alot!
My problem is I have tons of story ideas but am still growing as an artist. I'm so in love with so many styles I haven't nailed mine down yet, especially not something that won't take me like...a week to complete a character drawing 🙄
This is very helpful! I have a lot of story ideas that I’ve wanted to bring more to life than just writing them as novels. My only issue is I’m not confident in my own art abilities and I thought about having someone partner with me but the only two people I know is a close friend of mine and my girlfriend; I love my girlfriend’s art style when it comes to historical asian clothing for anime and such which would be amazing for a couple of my stories, but she’s not very good at drawing faces. My close friend has phenomenal art skills and she’d be perfect to go to but we practically don’t even have time to talk anymore because she’s so busy with school. It would be nice to find someone, however as an artist myself who greatly respects that we deserve to be paid for our works, sadly I don’t have the money to pay someone. So at this rate it probably would be an eternity before I can make a WEBTOON 😅
If you need a cheap tablet, look into XP-PEN. (They need to be hooked up to a computer/laptop) They’re tablets are on the cheaper side and they work well! I have the Innovator 16. And I use clip studio paint ex, which buy the way is having a 50% off sale, that lasts until Dec 1, 8am. Clip studio Paint pro will cost 25 dollars until then, and clip studio paint ex will cost 109 dollars until then. After that, it’ll be 219 dollars. If you’re doing a WEBTOON, I recommend buying clip studio paint ex since it’s more advanced
I tried to draw out a comic that I wrote but gave up when I realized that I have no talent for drawing😂 Maybe I'll find an artist to work with one day. 😜
I'm an artist myself and already thought of the Webtoon I'm going to create. I'm planning for it to be my summer project. However I'm very inexperienced with my Wacom tablet, and don't really know how to format a comic strip. This video was very helpful! Thank you!
Its like, i have a great story i would want to draw out but i feel like my art sucks and it just downgrades on me everytime i try to draw, even digital art. but like, im also looking for help or even a starting point to get myself somewhere at least. (like starting on backgrounds FOR SURE, clothes, poses, etc.) its like when i think about it, its literally sooo much, but then again when i think about it, its like i wanna do this because I LOVE DOING THISS. other then that, LMAO IDK HOW YOU GUYS DO IT. but im so happy for yall uwuw. keep it up!
I've been working on a story for atleast 1 year and I think it's completed in my head an i think it's webtoon is gonna be amazing because the storyline is amazing but I'm a very poor artist I'm just stuck at drawing and I also draws in my phone so this is another pain in the ass, so I'm just improving my drawing and I have questions for you can anyone tell me that drawing tablet without screen is good or not can it improve my drawing
I'm nervous as heck, and I'm just here trying to get some tips and notes for publishing a webtoon, because I had my irl bestfriend come with me on this journey he's a great artist, I consider myself as an artist but not as great as him and other artists, anyways he hoped onto my project of "creating a webtoon" and i've finished writing the plots and stuff, I'll just need to start on sketching the storyboard and oh boi go with the flow and see where it goes >w
Two friends and I have been plotting the foundations for a webtoon we would love to upload with a set story line for a year now so the tangent problem wouldn't have to happen. All three of us are planning to take turns in drawing an episode! It's a risky concept but we're willing to give it a go! I'm so excited to one day have our story out there.
Wow, that's a lot of work needed. No wonder some creators go on hiatus from time to time. Meeting all the demands and the pressure will get you a lot of stress.
Thank you for the information about the DPI because I questioned myself why my first episode of my Webtoon "Blood without Time' was so blurry. Now i know what to do about it!♥♥ thank you♥
It's sad that the platform's focus is colored comics... My comic is BnW and Im not sure if I should start with webtoons because if this. If I do I just hope people actually focus on storyline and characters rathen than whether or not the comic is colored. Make sure its colored to be discoverable". Smh 😪
While Webtoon encourages colored comics, there are some B&W comics that make it big. Bite Me is a featured comic that’s solely B&W, aside from a few scenes where red is shown. Most creators should take these advice videos with a grain of salt, because there will always be exceptions.
Watching these in prep of the Webtoon Short Story Contest 🥺 I have many many comics planned and even have drawn the majority of the episodes for my first webtoon but the short story contest should really help me put my foot in the door! Good luck to anyone else whose entering! 💝
Other people: Storyline making sense ✅ Characters ✅ Drawing talent ✅ Grammer ✅ Me: Storyline making sense ❌ Characters ✅ Drawing talent ❌ Grammer ✅❌ Being late to this video ✅✅✅
I have a story that I want to upload to webtoon but the biggest problem is that I can't draw. I think people would really enjoy this story that I have named Elementalist. If there is any artist in the comments, please hit me up :P.
Hi I did that the first time when I start my series, www.webtoons.com/en/challenge/psychic-revolution/list?title_no=91609 , and quickly learned that it was the wrong format. This and other web comic apps are designed to have the pages or panels scrolling up. It is easier to read than moving a around a single image to read each panel. What did what slice up each page and resized the panels to their format size. When I finish a chapter or issue I upload it in it's original format so you can see how the panels flow.
My comic, God's Lost Mercy, is done in black and white, kinda manga style. She is right, you're more likely to be featured and noticed for being color, but I'm content as I am now. The only page that's colored are the cover pages. I sit at a 9.01 out of 10, 25+ chapters and 300+ sub. I'm pretty happy. Just need to post more often.
Storyline ✔️ Plot✔️ Plan✔️ Art ✔️ Can you draw guys? ✖️ Can you make consistent poses✖️ DO you have time? ✖️ Is it cuz of school✔️ Do you have the drawing tools to publish on webtoon? ✖️ Are you sad? ✔️✔️✔️
i read many comments here saying they have story but cant draw.....i too have many stories but i am very weak in art..i practiced 1 year[ still i am not perfect]...and now i published a webtoon 'THE FAULT IN US'.....still i am weak in backgrounds and shadings .....i like you to look at it once..what i mean is dont give up..start now...
I have enjoyed reading "Boring Stories" by Phleebs, it is a funny look at quarantine life and subtle humor. Webtoons seems like a great website, and I am glad to have discovered such talent like "Boring Stories" until the next Marvel movie is released.
This was helpful even though I knew most of the information! I appreciate that you guys are so encouraging of all your creators. :D back to work on my comic I go! Now to find it within my soul to actually color my sequential art... 😭
To be honest. I’m going to be a pretty young WEBTOON creator and I’m hoping to get my story popular enough so I can be in featured. I want to make people smile with my stories. I love to draw and tell stories which mostly consist of fantasy so it will probably be fantasy genre and toward romance too. But for now I will focus on school work. >:D I wish all you young creators some good luck ✨

I think i need to master my drawing skills before we start our online classes in August tho 🤔
Edit: yooooo It's been 7 months!
Ah! Thank you for your replies! I am now making it! I’ll release it in the future!
Let us know when that happens! ;-)

Not a creator yet, but another tip to keep in mind about having the storyline:
To have a beginning, middle, and end to the plot, have an outline, or *timeline*.
I am an author who draws comics on sketchbooks, and i hope to write a webtoon in the future. Thank u! This helps a lot! ^^

I would say I needed this but I don't have a consistent art style, I have nothing to draw on, I wouldn't have the time, I do not have the talent to draw my own characters, my plot is all over the place and isn't in order, And if I somehow managed to make a webtoon after all these factors, I'm probably not old enough(I'm not even in High school yet)
Edit: I also have no idea how to do Backgrounds, locations, or objects in general. Not to mention I'm also trash at perspective.

shannara fryer u just need to practice before doin ur own webtoon, dont block yourself cause saying that u sucks everytime is not goin to help u.
@@gabrielatorres9304 I know, I just like saying bad things about my art sometimes
Your age has nothing to do with your skill level!

I really wanna make a webtoon, but I feel like my art isn't quite there just yet, but I'll get there, these tips were super helpful! ❤
Go for it. The art isn’t that important as long as the story is good. Plus it could be fun going to your older episodes and seeing the ways you improved
You’re not gonna improve if you don’t start drawing
You can do it! Every artist starts from somwhere. Begin at creating your first story, you'll be surprised how far you can go and improve. If you create a webtoon, post it! I support all artists🎨
My friend worked hard at webtoons and recently entered the contest as well. If you'd like to rate it and check it out, i'll leave the link n.n

Dani bro so ican’t publish gore and that kindnof stuff?

What if you have an audience count of zero? What do you do if you start out at rock bottom, even with an exceptional comic?
This. I've been a webtoon creator for 2 years and I had a pretty low sub count but now it just keeps dropping.
B4 or while making a comic, try to make fanarts for famous artists, people will start to notice you and'll eventually look into your page and read your comic
Keep working on it until the story is over. Then start a new story. There isn't a "trick" to get webtoon to promote you. Just put the work in.
I keep seeing a lot of comments talking about having great story ideas but saying they can’t draw beautiful art
You don’t need good art to tell a great story

My problem is I have tons of story ideas but am still growing as an artist. I'm so in love with so many styles I haven't nailed mine down yet, especially not something that won't take me like...a week to complete a character drawing 🙄
@lui valdes I'm totally doing that now! I may break down an get the books that she recommended in the vid too...
I literally have everything I need to start excepting I CANT FREAKING DRAWWW

Humor me is a great one that is in black and white!! It’s still on discover however
Watching these in prep of the Webtoon Short Story Contest 🥺 I have many many comics planned and even have drawn the majority of the episodes for my first webtoon but the short story contest should really help me put my foot in the door! Good luck to anyone else whose entering! 💝
Damn i just need an artist. I might have someone in mind, this girl in my graphic design class. But we had a falling out earlier this year.

I have a story that I want to upload to webtoon but the biggest problem is that I can't draw. I think people would really enjoy this story that I have named Elementalist. If there is any artist in the comments, please hit me up :P.
Small question, can you post on webtoons using a traditional comic format?? Or is it impossible??
Hi I did that the first time when I start my series, www.webtoons.com/en/challenge/psychic-revolution/list?title_no=91609 , and quickly learned that it was the wrong format. This and other web comic apps are designed to have the pages or panels scrolling up. It is easier to read than moving a around a single image to read each panel. What did what slice up each page and resized the panels to their format size. When I finish a chapter or issue I upload it in it's original format so you can see how the panels flow.
I got here to just watch the video, now i am inspired by the comment section
Ahhh Lalins Curse YEEEEESSSS !!!!!
Thank you SO MUCH for this! 😭 This was so so so helpful ❤️
tfw you dont have a drawing tablet and prefer pencil and paper
:'D
My comic, God's Lost Mercy, is done in black and white, kinda manga style. She is right, you're more likely to be featured and noticed for being color, but I'm content as I am now. The only page that's colored are the cover pages. I sit at a 9.01 out of 10, 25+ chapters and 300+ sub. I'm pretty happy. Just need to post more often.
Gyger Dog Reading that and subscribing right now.
@@15ksubswithnovideoschallen22 thanks! I'll have the next chapter out as soon as possible.
Gyger Dog Ive already read some of it, it's amazing! I hope you get featured some day!
@@15ksubswithnovideoschallen22 Wow! Thanks! I hope to eventually sell it as print some day.
Gyger Dog That sounds like a great idea. Have a great day! I'ma go read some more-

Does everything on Webtoon have to be anime drawn or can the style also be Western comics?
Both! Any kind of style you want!
I make my own comic, it's anime-ish but any style is okay!
@@lingky1180 Thank you 👍
i read many comments here saying they have story but cant draw.....i too have many stories but i am very weak in art..i practiced 1 year[ still i am not perfect]...and now i published a webtoon 'THE FAULT IN US'.....still i am weak in backgrounds and shadings .....i like you to look at it once..what i mean is dont give up..start now...
Could you make a WEBTOON on ibispaint?
There's a webtoon (I think it's available at Tapas as well )called "my gay hell" The creator uses IbisPaintX
This is so useful! I'm planning on starting my webtoon and have no idea what I'm doing! Ha! So this is really helping me out.
Good tips!
I have enjoyed reading "Boring Stories" by Phleebs, it is a funny look at quarantine life and subtle humor. Webtoons seems like a great website, and I am glad to have discovered such talent like "Boring Stories" until the next Marvel movie is released.
I DON'T KNOW WHY I'M WATCHING(I CANNOT DRAW)
This was helpful even though I knew most of the information! I appreciate that you guys are so encouraging of all your creators. :D back to work on my comic I go!
Now to find it within my soul to actually color my sequential art... 😭
Hiii! I love this UwU, am I first comment?
Nope

2:10 LALINS CURSE IS SO GOOD OMFG I LITTERALLY FINISHED IT IN 20 MINUTES BECAUSE OF NON STOP READING
Hi
I hope you'll make an updated version of Creator 101.
