The show ran from 1978-1982. At the time UHF TV went up to channel 83. It was in 1983 that the UHF spectrum was changed and channels 70-83 were removed. So, channel 71 mentioned in the show would've been correct at the time.
Very interesting, thanks for sharing this info! Which episode appealed to you the most?
Also in the bomb threat ("Phone Cops") two part episode, Les references a "Channel 73" in Dayton, which was blown up (in the middle of The John Davidson Show) by the same group which called the bomb threat into WKRP.
I just loved Bailey. The show was very funny, but Bailey made it even more fun for me to watch. Jan Smithers was just a really pretty girl.
We love Bailey too! Which episode is the most memorable for you?
I think it's very much a Ginger and Mary-Ann thing, and Bailey is definitely a Mary-Ann.
So did I thought she was hotter than Loni she was too blatant where Jan was subtle and shy gave her a more approachable demeanor the girl next door
The consultant “Nestle makes the very best chocolate!” Farfull!
Loved this show! To this day, every Thanksgiving, my family and I still send each other the YT clip of Mr. Carlson saying, “As God as my witness, I thought turkeys could fly”… ❤
Lol, I think of them dropping turkeys every Thanksgiving
History your not ashamed to admit
That was the best episode of all time.

@@FactsVerse personally I’d like to know what Jewel Kilcher thinks I said to her and her mom. Because I’m Jewel’s real Father and I was put in restraints for trying to go to an unknown location in Alaska to see her mom Christmas 🎄 1973 after I met Lanedra Carroll and her Brother Otto Carroll who goes by the name of Atz Kilcher these days. I met them at an LRY Conference in Toronto Canada September 1,1973 and Atz gave me Lanedra Carroll’s hand in marriage because I had a Draft Card for the Vietnam War and Nedra was the Nasty Game player who refused to write ✍️ down her address for Me telling Me I had to write ✍️ to her or I’ll never hear from her again and if I would have gone to a racetrack called Niagara Dragstrip Labor Day Weekend 1973 like I was suppose to Jewel Kilcher would have never been Born and to this day I haven’t seen Lanedra and I only have one memory of Jewel being near me the night Sean Penn took a picture of Jewel in a bar near my home in Niagara Falls NY, it’s in Jewel’s book called Chasing down the Dawn and the caption for said picture is “Glamor on the Road, Somewhere USA “ I recognized Sean Penn that Night and even said that was Sean Penn in that bar and the bar owner and the guy I was play pool with both said “what would Sean Penn be doing in this Dive” and I replied “Yeah, but who is that girl with him “
I heard a whisper that “the girl in Alaska had a Daughter and named her Jewel “ late spring 1974 in the Basement Coffee ☕️ House at the Niagara Falls NY Unitarian Universalist Church and soon after I was put in those restraints by my family and Dr Phil McGraw who gave me lithium and electric ⚡️ shock treatments before I ended up in the Special Olympics August 25,1974
Yes I had my Brains 🧠 rearranged by that no good scumbag Dr Phil
This show really should’ve lasted longer! It was fantastic!
We absolutely agree! Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts. Who was your favorite cast member?
This show is among my top 10 favorites. Well written, perfectly cast and captured Cincinnati pretty well. Johnny Fever and Venus were my faves. The turkey drop is a classic.
We're happy to know that you love WKRP in Cincinnati. In your opinion, what is its best episode?
@@FactsVerse I think there were several best ones but I mostly liked the ones where they involved Johnny Fever trying to get away with something or where a character showed a new unexpected character trait or exploded a stereotype.
Loved this show!!! Every episode was hilarious. I miss Howard Hessman and Herb. Thank you!!!😊
We're happy to know that you love the show. In your opinion, what is its best episode?
My wife worked for a printing company that printed the University of Cincinnati’s basketball poster that she designed. It was on the side of Les Newsman’s desk one year and the next year’s design was on the side of the teletype machine. Two years, two different posters.
Fun stuff, thank you for sharing this information about your wife! We would take a closer look into the posters ☺
Love the turkey show of course, but my next favorite is when Jennifer calls Herb's bluff and invites him to her place for dinner. Totally hysterical!
My favorite episode was the one where Bailey wakes up and goes to work in Fever's black death t-shirt.
Never have Loni a second glance again.....
David Cassidy was offered the part of Johnny Fever but turned it down.
Heart Of Glass by Blondie was first played on the show and became popular as a result.
Venus showcased the quiet storm format first as well. He was so cool and suave!
Interesting, thanks for sharing this info! What other types of video would you like to see on our channel?
Cool
I love the show WKRP in Cincinnati. I watched all of the seasons when they were being first broadcast. It was such a fun show, and a great lead out of the depressing 1970's shows from years before this show came into being. The only way someone would have noticed these incorrect details is if the were training to be a movie Gaffer, or binge watching entire runs of episodes back to back nowadays. Stop sucking the joy out of fun shows. This show was at the top of the comedy genre when it was running.
We're happy to know that you love the show. In your opinion, what is its best episode?
I loved the show.... The turkey drop was great, but i also enjoyed the surreal thoughts of the concert give away, where a fan died in the leaving of the concert. It showed that WKRP was not afraid to look at some ofthe negative sides. Also, the paster that wanted to restrict certain songs, and the funeral home plugs that were stopped. In them two, it showed that Mr. Carlson was not just a bumbling fool.
Well this was well worth the time to watch it. Thanks for this.
You're very much welcome! We're glad to know that you love our video. If we may ask, which episode appealed to you the most?
I absolutely love this show. I have worked in radio since I was 17 and I always loved trying to spot the mistakes or missteps in the show. Every thanksgiving the morning guy on one of the stations I work in. He replays the "turkey drop'.
We're happy to know that you love the show. In your opinion, what is its best episode?
@@FactsVerse The episode with the "Phone Cops". I love that episode.
The actor who played Herb graduated from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, which is why he almost always had an Arkansas Razorbacks cup/mug on his desk (visible at 7:17).
Always had a hunch that the wKRP, was a synonym for "krap"... Great show on TV, which we sadly don't get much anymore.
I worked at a nursing home and took care of loni
Lonis grandma so much for my big fingers
This was great, thank you for sharing it. I love this show! God Bless You and stay safe 🙏 ❤️

I worked in radio at the time of this show, we would often have watch parties of it. We would try to guess where Les’s bandage would show up at.
I didn’t know about the bandages until today! I love it!
Fun stuff, thanks for watching. Which episode appealed to you the most?
Thanks for creating this. I have watched the DVDs several times and noticed the palm trees and Les's wedding ring.
I loved all of the people on WKRP, especially when Lonnie Anderson had more power than Jordon Jump, you know the station manager.
*Gordon 😊
*Loni
Fun stuff, thanks for sharing! Which episode of the show appealed to you the most?
Great show I used to watch I met GordonJump once at an airshow in Dayton Ohio. A very nice man.
See, you can do very well when you want to. Stay away from material that is salacious and prurient; it coursened society and degrades us all. We all should try to leave this world better than we found it. This was enlightening and fun. That is a great formula to follow.
We're very happy to know that you had a chance to meet Gordon! Thanks for sharing your life story. Which episode is the most memorable for you?
@@FactsVerse the non flying turkeys." I swear as God is my witness I thought turkeys could fly"
Les Nessman with shades of the Hindenburg: " oh the humanity!"
Don’t forget the phone cops
Had a huge crush on Gary Sandy back then, but the most humor came from Les Nessman who always felt he should've been given an office. Love the episode where there's a glitch switching between tapes, and it comes out "And it's down the drain...with Les Nessman!"
We love Gary too! Thanks for sharing. Which episode of the show appealed to you the most?
Who can forget Johnny's lead-in"..and now more news with Les Nessman". That's good writing.
as a teen boy, I had the major Hots for Gary Sandy!
such a handsome man 😛
The first song dropped was a song on the Free for All album by Ted Nugent. I remember watching it. Yep
Great show love the see the mistakes
We're happy to know that you love the show. In your opinion, what is its best episode?
The UHF band goes from 300 MHz to 3 GHz and is broken down into channels numbered 14 to 83. Channel 71 was a real option, not an error…. It wasn’t until 1983 that channel 71 was removed as part of an expansion of repeater transmitter options.
It was a great show! Great video! 😁
Thanks for watching! We're glad to know that you love our video. If we may ask, what other types of video would you like to see on our channel?
One of the funniest shows ever aired on TV! I could watch re-runs over and over and over......
I was a huge fan. When the show first launched, small stations like WKRP had some serious competition. WLW-AM, the only commercial station on the planet ever to broadcast 500,000 watts of power, still ruled the airwaves in Cincinnati. That is half a million, folks. I found Jennifer and Bailey were equally charming, in their own ways. Both were presented as highly intelligent, one of the first shows to properly share this reality about women. Character development was well done. Like, we came to know that despite the extra polish, Jennifer was actually much like Bailey, just another girl next door. Sadly, Mr. Carlson, Herb and now Johnny have all passed on. Every actor was believable in character. Like me, straight man Andy, Gary Sandy, is actually a local native. As any other, the city does have its problems, but from anywhere across the river the Cincinnati skyline is truly an amazing sight to see.
We're happy to know that you love the show. In your opinion, what is its best episode?
The UHF channels went clear up to channel 83 until 1983 when the FCC realocated them. Channel 71 WAS valid during WKRP timeframe. Viewers “in the know” would know this.
Thought Gary was cute. But LOVED Howard Hessman such a cool dude 😎
Rip Johnny Fever !! 💕
We miss Johnny too! May he find peace. Which episode of the show appealed to you the most?
Not only his part on KRP, but in every role he played. Fantastic, charismatic actor.
You said Les Nessman hurt his finger but the bandage shown was on his head.
These videos always amaze me. How detail oriented do people have to be to notice these small differences?🙄🤦🏻♀️
The clip @ 3:25, from a European viewpoint they could be on the 1st floor. They consider the entrance as ground level and you go up to the 1st floor, so the window would be around that height. If you think about it, we never consider a single story building as being the 1st floor.
After you've watched each episode several times it's fun to look for the errors.
UHF channels were in fact from numbered 14 to 83.
The best 70’s tv !!
"Somewhere out there , there is a Volkswagen without seat covers " . Funny ! . 😅
I loved watching the TV and watch reruns.
The blooper is that he thinks that she's even attracted to him.
The Cincinatto jacket was so that they wouldn't have to pay a royalty to the Cincinatti Reds baseball team.
I enjoyed this very much, but what was I supposed to see in the photo that wasn't edited?
“BOOGER!”
lol
LOL
Perhaps because Dr Fever spoke that first floor to British rockers, he used the British term 1st Floor, one floor above ground floor
I liked the episode that had Sparky Anderson do a sports show, when actually Cincinnati fired him and ended up with the Detroit Tigers.
Les’ excuse for always wearing a bandage was because of the big dog he had at home.
Interesting, thanks for sharing this info! What is your most memorable episode of the show?
Loved the show. I was a high school student at the time
We're happy to know that you love the show. In your opinion, what is its best episode?
UHF channels originally went up to 82.
I never saw the show. Thanks for covering all the things I missed. Classic Episode??? Was there one?
You're evry much welcome! We're glad to know that you love our video. If we may ask, what other types of video would you like to see on Facts Verse?
@@FactsVerse I do like your videos. The 80s had a number of good and innovative shows. You could do a show on famous government lies, but I don't want you get hurt.
You'll have to wait for Thanksgiving. It's _alllllllways_ shown on Thanksgiving.
I suspect most of these 'bloopers' were actually deliberate gags by the cast & crew.
Having worked in radio for a few years, I discovered that the show was very accurate in a lot of ways.
Interesting, thanks for sharing! Which episode is the most memorable for you?
It was not accurate in one way. DJs always use headphones to monitor their own voices and also to help when introducing LPs to see how the production booth sounded on the air and how to spot on how advertisements were sounding on the air. I never seen DJs on the air without headphones.
Actually a DJ only needs to have one ear in a headphone briefly when 'going up' to be sure the mic is on. Otherwise, experienced on air personallities don't need to hear their own voices.. That's the way the show accurately portrayed the DJ's being old hands at their profession.
@@stratostatic I know. I used to have a Commercial 1st Class Radio Telephone License by the FCC and I also worked as an intern before that with WPAY in the 1970s. A no, I don't remember AM a lot like them but maybe similar and that was before talk radio.
I noticed early on Venus said he was never in a helicopter, and yet in the show about him being AWOL, he stated that he was in chopper in 'nam.
UHF originally went up to 83. In 1982, channels 70 to 83 were reallocated to emergency services. Since WKRP was on the air from 78 to 82... channel 71 most certainly existed! No foul here.
Nice 👍 who set the thermostat to 32 degrees ?
Thanks for watching! We're glad to know that you love our video. If we may ask, what other types of video would you like to see on our channel?
Well UHF stations went to 83 on the televisions I grew up with, at some point it was cut back to 69 as these high frequencies were not practical in the real world of broadcasting. Not sure what year 70-83 went away. Blooper in a blooper. Love WKRP.
Cincinnati since the 1800s was famous for being a hog meat processing center. That is why Les was obsessed with Hog Reports.
2:40 also looks like it's Dark Side of the Moon from Pink Floyd!
Best comedy show of all time! Fight me!
We're happy to know that you love the show. In your opinion, what is its best episode?
A distant relative has the mic used on the show. The company he worked made professional equipment, like he was in charge of setting up one of the National Convention for the Republicans Party,. The one for WKRP was a shell with nothing inside.
I watched this show every week
3:15 Couldn't you have found a clip from Andy's office? By season two one wall was pretty much covered with dozens of stickers from all over. I don't remember if I spotted any from my market.
Actually, shortly after Frank Bonner's (Herb Tarlek) death, I read that in the episode "A Family Affair", Herb comes in on crutches, following Les Nessman, stating that he put his back out while trying a promotion while air gliding as the fish, attached to the back of Les's car. These crutches were actually used due to a real-life water skiing accident that left Mr. Bonner having to use crutches. In a similar thing, I just recently saw a clip from WKRP vs. Love Boat on Family Feud. Frank Bonner was one of the contestants, and he had crutches with him, then, too. It may be possible that it was the same injury, but it could have been another one.
6:49 Les is wearing a wedding ring here as well. I’m betting this happened more than just the once.
Referring to mementos as momentos is a blooper in and of itself. In fact there are professional broadcasters that make this malapropism often. Momento is a piece of time not a piece of a keepsake.
During the time WKRP was made there were 83 TV Channels. Later on, the FCC sold the upper channels to other services.
UHF did go to channel 71 until 1983 when it was reduced to 69. So this was not an error.
Did I see a Razorback cup on Herb’s desk?!
I'm just here for Jennifer.. I must have missed that part so I'll have to rewind it.🙃
UHF went to channel 83
they did originally, but I believe they cut back a few (circa 1980?) to make room for early cell phone systems.
I loved this show and watched it every week it was on and I thought Bailey was far more beautiful and sexy than Jennifer. Great video by the way and thanks~!
I noticed that Loni Anderson has her high beams turned on.
Thanks for this video it's pretty chemical thanks for all your videos

Richard Sanders was hit by a stage light and wore a small bandage on his forehead during the first episode - not finger. Sharing is Caring.
uhf channel realignment didn't happen until 1983 when 70-83 were reassigned to land mobile radio. wkrp ended in 1982, before this happened. channel 71 would have been a valid tv channel. city tv in toronto ontario canada used channel 79 until 1983 when it moved to 57. uhf is now down to 14 channels, 14-36, because uhf frequencies have been reassigned, mainly to cellular
That I watched them the first time around. 😮😢😅
ILovetheshowI❤💕😅😃
WKRP was more likely for Carp, not Krap.
That theme song🥰😎
Nostalgic! Which episode is the most memorable for you?
The correction back in the 70s and 80s TV channels did go to ch 83 this was before cellphones then the FCC took away ch 70-83 for them
So Hreb could go to ch 71

Where is the photo? Not gonna get clickbaited in wasting another 10 min for 1 thing
I thought it was obvious that the call letters was a word play on crap.
One of the more memorable episodes was the one where "Big guy" got forced to go to a rock concert and he REALLY didn't want to go. Towards the end of the episode he gets back to the station all excited because he really enjoyed the concert. Then he found out there had been an awful incident with people trying to get in and 11 people died. (Who concert, Riverfront Coliseum, December 3, 1979)

Loni Anderson was just plain HOT! She opened my eyes to the world of sugar daddy men spending exorbitant amounts of money on women. My favorite episode is where she met her male counterpart Steele and he asked her for money…lol
