Just a guess, but you're "gouge" was probably a mark of an arrow pointing out the crack until some unscrupulous actor decided to parkerize over the crack. Obviously, the mark pointing out the defect had to be removed. Just sayin' if I was quality control and discovered that crack I'd probably scratch a big arrow pointing it out.
I would contact the owner of the store from where you bought it and RECORD the call. Next, call Sidewinder factory and also record the call. If you receive no response, file a claim in court. Dont say you are doing it. Just go to your courthouse and file a lawsuit.
@@wilsonrt82 yes. Posting an update video soon. Glad to have it back. Owned it for 6 months, able to use it for 3. Not expecting any more surprises.....then again, that's why they're "surprises".

😯😠😠😠 GOOD LUCK 👍 Bintac has new design semi auto AEA air rifles. I have read from different customers that when they had a problem with new purchase BIn sent them a new rifle inmediately.. before he received the not working one! Now that is the customer service I want !!!
@@travelcompass591 I don't receive anything until after it's received but Bin passed me to Precision (Rep). But it makes perfect sense because all of the Sidewinders are on backorder. I like dealing with Bin.
Sounds like you need to fix o-rings, and honestly your barrel might of been to loose if your feeling air in your face when shooting. Also misloading a gun can cause it to crack. Send it back
@@Indictedheart I'm not sure what you're referring to. I have a few other videos about this gun. If this crack would have developed after assembly/purchase/use, the parkarized finish would be damaged. I never had any air in my face and the gun has never been misloaded. I'm not even sure what misloaded refers to. The o-rings are perfect.
@@murphystreeter I just placed a pre-order for the exact same product from Bin at the Pellet Shop. Hopefully this was a one-off issue with Western’s production line and not a more frequent problem with their (Western’s) quality control. Quite concerning for sure!

It may in brass insert to protect the housing like HW100.
Very interesting
