      She is also trying to get a written statement from her so she has weight to the argument the judge will present later with the officials in charge of the jail. But that would not be appropriate during her proceedings either.

      This comment is for the warden for this jail. If you r a warden , and u run with a jail with male guards, and somehow u have female prisoners confined literally half-naked around male guards and then taken 2 court half-naked , in public,, u r personally responsible as well. U should b in court next.

      Mikitan Fox, I think the judge was going to ask her to file a complaint with the county and caught herself. She cannot place herself as the defendant's lawyer since she is the judge, it would have been a conflict of interests. Maybe not illegal, but definitely unethical.

      Actually when this story came out she was wearing a pair of shorts that she was wearing in public prior to arrest . The jail shirt was all they had to hand to new inmates due to overcrowding. Not saying they were not wrong but she had shorts on . Hygiene isn't given ever to new inmates until they are in the system they treat people like animals no toilet paper so this case did help a little but no win on her shorts .

This article contained pictures, however these pictures show this defendant WEARING THE SHORTS the jail claims she had on. So, I'm not sure what to think now. It was absolutely appropriate to be outraged to a claim like this, but whether or not the claim is true? Idk anymore.

      Keep thinking, don't stop. Stop being on the band wagon. She had shorts, she was fully dressed. The judge, didn't. She just took the defendants word for it. Notice they didn't even talk about her charge, the judge read it and immediately went for her smartphone.

    that is a complete outrage. I got arrested at one point for domestic violence. I was the victim. I had to go through the whole process, being humiliated and such. I was mandated to go to anger management and pay for the course. When I went back to court, she looked at my paperwork and said out loud " what are you doing here, your a victim". I said " mam I tried to tell them that but they wouldn't listen to me". It's outrageous.

      Having worked with law-enforcement I can say they have a hard time admitting they made a mistake. It's like a game of egos between the defendant's attorney and the prosecution. I know because I used to work in the DAs office. Let's just say people are human and leave it at that.
      If you need an attorney, and can afford it, try to get one that gets along with the DAs office and their attorneys, sometimes they are even friends, and with the judge. You don't want an attorney that they do not like. It makes a difference!

      Liz Tew I'd like to know how things ended. I couldn't find much information online. I really got the sense that the Judge was thinking law suit because of the words like. "Inhumane, and Beyond Reasonable." Which are legal terms that would be used in such a suit. Especially near the end when she started to back out of giving her advice. I hope she Sued the shit out of them and Won. This is not how things should be.

    • @richardisdorky7411
      @richardisdorky7411 8 лет назад +2

      Liz Tew Exactly. Not appropriate in context of Conflict of Interest. The Judge can't legally give her advice. But you can tell she REALLY wanted too. And yeah Suing the Pants off of them would be the perfect Metaphor to use.

    My husband was a correctional officer for 25 years. It was always his belief that once a person became an inmate, it was his job, for which he was hired, 1. To make sure the inmate did not take off and run away and 2. To make sure that inmate received all humane care that any human deserves. And sometimes that ran against what the supervision of the prison did.

      Plenty of people are held in prison before they even go to court. In case of which, according to the law, they are innocent until proven guilty. They are treated just as badly as anyone else. Since no warden or guard is going to distinguish between definitely guilty and waiting for a trial, there needs to be a minimum standard of respect and humanity.
