Age of the Ring mod 8.1 | The Siege of Durthang as Gondor!

Hello guys! I'm back with The Age of the Ring mod! Today i'm uploading a new video of the new Besiege maps! This time i'm playing a new Besiege map that was added on this new 8.0 version. This map is about to besiege the fortress of Durthang, an orcish stronghold, durthang. A fortress located inside of Mordor. I played as Gondor and i had to besiege it, this map has some cool envoriment and it wasn't that easy due the hero spam from the AI. It was pretty fun to play. Enjoy it!

I love how the team made these maps, they take such a diffident approach then what others have done. Also out of curiosity what do you think of the fountain guard 2.0 for Gondor. I like the new changes they no longer look like a fancy pike unit that buff themselves and heros. They actually feel like the elite of Gondor.

Yeah, i think the same now, they aren't like before, before they just were a tanky strong unit. Now they truly feel like elites

Normally if I was gonna be besieging a fortress like this for example (Durthang) or Dol-Guldur and Minas Morgul as the free peoples, I start thinning out the enemy defenses (like orc towers, catapults and Orc Archers that are on top the castle walls and such) with maybe 6 Gondor trebuchets and with both some Minas Tirith archers and Ithilian Rangers wielding bows before advancing inside, just by softening them up and diminish their resources a little bit before storming inside the fortress. But hey, it's your channel and your way of playing and battling, but I'm just giving you friendly advices from when you do other castle maps like Pelargir, Dol-Amroth, Cair-Andros, Osgiliath (even though that place is a yet ruined capital city but battlefield with ruined towers and such), Dale/Mt. Erebor (if Dale's close to the Lonely Mountain that is) Minas Tirith, Caras Galadhon, Dol-Guldur and Minas Morgul for example. Just saying.

That' s what i mostly did on this video, first i wanted to make an army and then get their catapults and towers with some siege before attacking the main gates
