Hello, i used 12v 9amp battery but this battery is not enough to provide the required current for spot welding. For good spot welds on lithium ion cell you'll need atleast 100Ah battery. The spot welding also requires pulsed output (typically 10-100 msec) which was not used in this method. Also, a laptop adapter cannot be used for this purpose because the adapter cannot provide the required current
Hello! Sorry, i dont get what this black wire with jack is for, could you tell me?? Can i use this pen with another adjustable welding station (with not connecting that jack anyway)?? Could you say What is that jack for??
The black wire with the jack is for those circuits which have a relay to only close the circuit with the pen sends a trigger. So basically this black wire is simply connected with a small switch inside the pen, when you put pressure on the pen that switch closes and it triggers the relay inside the circuit that now is the time to provide that short burst of current. If you don't connect this then there will be no such protection of accidentally touching the two electrodes of the pen. So yes you can use this pen with your adjustable welding station.
Yes you can use them as well but spot welding generally requires high instantaneous current, so a 100A battery or above is recommended for this purpose.
Best to perform this method while in a spa / jacuzzi outside with a lightning storm coming and a long metal rod extending from under water with a toaster submerged as well. Then you will get some nice welds on your 18650's and save money on replacement Dewalts.⚡⚡⚡
That pen isn't made to connect straight to a battery... There is no voltage change or current change doing it the way you are... You have to use the pen with a spot welder machine...
Yes you are right. Actually i saw some videos where people have claimed that they can spot weld using this method. But most probably they have used an old battery with low charge. The purpose of this video is to show that when a battery is fully charged, this method will not work and soon i will be showing 3 more and better methods of spot welding. Thanks for your feedback
Hello dear! I have the same pen. But my spot welding machine doesn’t have the port to connect that middle (black wire on the pen). Plz tell me how could i operate that pen with welding mashine wich has only +/- INN and +/- out? 😳
Hello, its not compulsory to connect the black wire which is only for trigger. You can simply add a delay between two spots (if applicable) or use a simple delay timer circuit with your spot welder. I am using the same circuit which do not include any such feature of triggering

hi , you are using 12v Battery and how much ampere . if i use 12v dc power adapter then how much ampere required. can i use laptop adapter also for it

that black wire with the jack is for the switch. do not attach the pen dirrectly to a battery for christ sakes man. do more research.
with direct to battery method weld you need a motor cycle starter relay or any 12v 40-100amps relay to make it work properly
Yes, thats correct
Can you post el.drawing with this relay? Will be us we full
@@ERLEngineeringhow do you connect the relay
ocê pegou o conector?
Where did you take the jack? 👍
Hi! you can easily find it on aliexpress
I can use car baterías or motorcicle ?

Thank you
This is bad reviewer... Who not know how to use spot welder.. how com you used spot welder in 45 degree angle😅😅😅
