Thank you for the nice review. On a separate note, you know that the strips included are not pure nickel but "nickel-plated iron core" as they jump in 00:08:09 to the magnetic field created in the wires when firing the welder. The problem with those is that with time, they rust and break apart.
Valuable insight on listings selling nickel *plated* strips instead of actual nickel strips. However, nickel is a ferromagnetic metal and is also attracted by magnetic fields so the fact that these strips are attracted to the wires when current is flowing does not imply they are not pure nickel.
One of the most complete reviews I've seen on anything. I was thinking that I would need a much more expensive unit. Seems I need to rethink my needs. Thank you.

Very useful . Thx. Btw , the biffrc has no display but has the same board, sounds and one button configuration on the back. I suspect one is "lending" the basis of this device to another...
I noticed this too. There are types like mine but without the screen out there. I figured the one in this video might be more recent. Just a guess tho.

i have received my spot welder today, it was a docreate brand even though the product description and photos said BIFRC, unfortunatly a mosfet burnt on first 5 welds on first gear, i was testing it on the nickel plated strips included in the product, now the output is always one even when the device is off, and it doesn't pulse the output it's just connected straight to the battery now, it might have been a fluke and others might have better luck but the soldering inside is quite shoddy there are solder blobs on one of the mosfets, the mosfets should've been able to handle the current since they're rated for 320A contunious and 1200A pulsed, but maybe they're fake which would explain the short life span. i don't know if i can recommend it seeing how fast it destroyed itself on the lowest power setting atleast for the docreate brand ones maybe the BIFRC brand ones have higher quality mosfets, the pcb was similar but with different mosfets and controller ic, the mosfets on mine were G011N04 instead of the 4N04R8 but also have 320A cont. 1200A pulsed rating but maybe much lower quality....
Sorry about yours not working. I noticed some manufacturers are flooding the market with inferior spot welders. You may have bought one of those. Did you order from the link in my descriptions? or you bought from elsewhere?
