    I hope this won't be like the heat wave that hit California in the summer of 2006. Numerous people died from heat-related causes and the hot days felt like they would never end.

      Nah. This is hype. It's normally pushing a 100° in my part of Southern california this time of year, it's barely cracking 90° in this "heat wave".

    I'm lucky. All i do is open the bedroom window on the 2nd floor and things cool down fast at night. Haven't used A/C in several years

    110+ degree days are normal for the California central valley. The average may be around 90 but it would be very unusual for there to be no days over 110. This weather woman says, "higher than it should be." That's absurd no one gets to tell the weather what it should be.

      @@kurtdewittphoto And jut what "SHOULD" it be this time of year as mid summer approaches. Yes the hottest days in central California are in August and September but early July can see 110. There is no OUGHT in weather.

      ​@@Duran762 Any proof? Thats like claiming every cold winter is due to global cooling. The climate is definitely warming as we are at the tail end of an ice age but this is just typical california summer weather, it's not even as hot as it usually is. It has more to do with pressure, jet streams, and ocean currents, not your car.

    Did weather maps in previous years feature this much red? It's not easy on the eyes when used in graphics/text situations, at least that's what we were taught previously.

      They were not that red. I saw a graphic that compared a heat map from the 1990's to 2023, and the same temperatures are now displayed with red graphics where they were previously more blue. (Of course I can't find that graphic now so take it for what it's worth.) But they are definitely gaslighting us . . .

    What they arnt telling people is this is supposed to push out for 3-5 weeks of 100+. We most likely wont be getting any cool down till early august. People are gonna be dropping like flies over they next month. Get ready for the hottest summer we have ever had in norcal.
