This video is what put Voctave on the map. Nobody had heard of them before this collab, but millions came to hear Kirstin and became instant Voctave fans. They must've had millions of subs practically overnight. And Voctave has only gotten better and better. I'd love to hear them do a collab with PTX. It would be epic.
They were so perfect to sing all of these love songs seeing as Kirsten and Jeremy were still together at the time. Not sure if they were engaged already but possibly.

I felt the same way the first time I heard this. I just sat there in silence for about five minutes and then hit replay. There’s a short video with Kirstin and Jeremey around the piano with a small group from each section. when they heard Kate the soprano hit those notes Kirstin had to stop, she got her own version of a Mitch-slap. It’s so cute!

Omg gorgeous! More voctave please! The group is verry traditional Choir/Disney/Broadway orientated (so no beatboxing Accapella) but the voices of the members are perfect for this. If your familiar with the prince of egypt: theire medley is mindblowing. They also did another one with Kirstie!: „Show yourself“. Or start with the princess/showstopper medley. These are the most popular ones.
Voctave does have a Disney Showstopper Medley and a Disney Princess Medley if you want some more Disney + acapella to listen to.

Jeremy was Kirsten's boyfriend at the time. He competed on The Sing-Off as part of the University of Kentucky AcoustiKats.

Great reaction to a great performance. Now, watch and listen to the 5 Voctave women doing the "Disney Princess Medley" and you will confirm your comments that the 1st soprano, Kate Lott, can sing opera.
The "Disney Love Medley" was the first recording by Voctave when the ensemble had only 8 members present. This was recorded in late 2015 and released in early 2016. Note: There were a few recordings including "All Is Well" made by this smaller ensemble earlier in 2015 under a different name.
In later recordings, Voctave had expanded to 11 members (they added an alto and a bass voice). In 2020, the tenor who did the musical directing, Tony De Rosa, and one of the basses, J. C. Fullerton, left the ensemble. They were replaced by tenor, Drew Ochoa, and bass, Aaron Stratton.

Mesmerizing. You're absolutely right and I can see it on your face. The jaw drops lol. I love this piece so much there was a time I was listening to it the entire day on repeat. Trivia: other commenters have mentioned Kirstie and Jeremy were engaged at this time. PTX won The Sing Off in 2011. Jeremy's group was a contestant in the next season when PTX guested. That's when they knew each other. Got engaged in 2017 but called the wedding off.

Great reaction!!! There are normally 11 members ,but at times in the past, they have used 9 people. They all have been or are members of The Voices of Liberty at Epcot, Disney World Florida. Jamey Ray is the creator and arranger for the group and is a genius. He has arranged for PTX, Voice Play and others. They do not need to layer in a studio, because they have everything covered, naturally. They do not use auto tune , because they want to sound the same live as they do in their vids/albums. Anyone who has seen them live said they do just that! Many have suggested songs to listen to. Two I think you should listen to are The Great Movie medley, an ode to the great John Williams film score theme/songs. Only one song has lyrics, the rest, their voices ARE THE ORCHESTRA! Another is a very short song called Stampede from the Lion King and yes... that first note is their voices! Enjoy the real wall of sound, Voctave ( pronounced Voc tive)

Incidentally, the composer/arranger for Voctave is the tenor, Jamey Ray. He admittedly favors the women in his arrangements. He is especially partial to the 2nd soprano, Tiffany Coburn. You can check this statement out by watching and listening to Voctave's "The Impossible Dream" and "Oh, Holy Night" where Tiffany is the featured soloist. She also is the soloist on the pre-Voctave recording of "All Is Well".
And, for a big change of pace, check Tiffany's lead performance in "Higher and Higher" by The Edge Effect. Note: The Edge Effect bass and beat boxer is none other than Voctave's bass, Karl Hudson.
Several of the Voctave members also are featured guests on some VoicePlay videos. The acapella world is pretty tight knit.

The first time we heard The Fly Medley way back when, was the first of hundreds of replays! I've seen them in person and they are always so spot on.
Why haven't you reacted to Voctave for so long? Your initial reaction to them was awesome and they have many more songs for you to review. I suggest; Disney Princess Medley, Disney Heroes and Villains, Disney Showstoppers, Mary Did You Know, O Holy Night, O Come All Ye Faithful, The Great Movie Medley, Somewhere...You will not be disappointed. Seems that you may have found another a cappella rabbit hole. Dive in. You'll enjoy the journey. They sang on one Pentatonix song about 2 years ago and Kirstin sang on another of their songs a year or two ago.

I think you basically had it correct. Two sopranos on the far left. Three Altos right of them. Then three tenors, next to three bass singers on the far right.
