    nah they are definetlly not doing 3rd game as i dont know which plague will they cover also the ending was just to show that Macula will exist forever as the end cutscene shows the modern day child breathing with a help of breathing machine plus the sound of heels on a surface which sounds like the hospital floor

      @@watchmestruggle5760 Maybe not for nothing. We know that Amicia continued in the search for a cure with Sophia. Perhaps her grief will serve as the accelerant to maybe piece together vital clues for the next protector to finally discover a solution. It would be cool if in the beginning of the third game to see where Amicia's journey finally took her.

      @@EmJay2022 I see what you mean. I looked to see if there was going to be a third game or not and it's still up in the air. If it does come out, I'm not entirely sure I'll play it. I guess if it does come out, I might have different feelings about it in a few years.

      @@watchmestruggle5760 Well, it wasn't for nothing. It seems like this within the universe of the story, but the purpose of the story was to make the player feel the emotional impact that Amicia felt when she was facing the situation of killing her own brother. The emotion you had (and still have as you said) is the emotion that Amicia would go through. This symbiosis of you and Amicia was the purpose of the story and the game, and it succeeded. A happy ending wouldn't have the impact and make you think and reflect about what happened to Amicia and her brother, and maybe take something away from it for your own life. This ending makes you think about consequences, how one incident affects another, how things escalate, and what could have been the choice that would have prevented this ending, what would need to be different in the world of Amicia and Hugo to not make it come to this conclusion. And thinking about that might also result into different choices in your real life. It is a tale, and tales teach about ethics and morals and the human condition, and to accomplish that, they sometimes don't have a happy ending, because otherwise the lack of consequences would not make you thing about the story, but just forget about it quickly and not take anything away from it.

      @@TheTuubster Thanks for your comment. It was very well put. Don't you think they could have made the ending a little less bleak with Amicia living all alone with Lucas also leaving her? She lost her entire family, it just feels like a weird choice.

    It's an allegorical story, that reflects upon the human condition. Amicia and Hugo both were a mirror of the violence they experienced around them, which Hugo being less able to control himself as the less matured character. The story was mainly about staying human in an inhumane world and showed the struggle of Amica and Hugo to maintain their humanity. Amicia as the more matured survived, Hugo lost that struggle due to the lack of control. A happy ending would only be possible without the violence around them that triggered Hugo, but that was not the world they are living in. Overall the story is very relevant to our times, as Amicia was also a metaphor for a child soldier, forced to be a killer by adults, going against her nature and what it did to her psyche. Things like this happen in Ukraine today, where young women join the army and become killers, maybe even after having lost a loved one due to a bombing of their home, and face the same struggles to maintain their humanity as Amicia does in this game. The game is not a distraction from life, it is about reflecting on life, and the ending is a part of it (with Hugo asking for assisted suicide from his loving sister, which also happens in reality). The two games were not pointless, they were about making you feel what Amicia feels when she faces the choice to kill Hugo (btw you can make the choice to not kill him, the game does not force you two, even if the crosshair suggests it), to make you feel the weight of what it means to take a life and to bring the player to that moment it needed to take the journey through the two games.

      Wow, very nicely put. I didn't realize you didn't have to kill Hugo. I should look up that ending. I try to stay away from media that will upset me this much as I get too attached to characters like they are real and I'm really loosing them, especially when it's an innocent child.

      @@watchmestruggle5760 When you watch other playthroughs, you will see many other becoming attached to Amicia and Hugo, and cry at the end (even the voice actress Charlotte McBurney, who did a playthrough on YT, was crying during the last chapters, even though she knew about everything). You said "I don't want to do this", and it might surprise you, that this is something a lot of players say on camera when they face the moment. I personally did play the ending in December, but I still become emotional, because I became attached. And when you read the comments, you see many players confessing that weeks or months after finishing the game they still think about it and become emotional. I think, it is something beautiful, that storytellers can create fictional characters that you become attached to like real ones. And in the case of Amicia and Hugo, it is okay, because the ones who created them, did it with love and care. While the game has no happy ending, it has a true ending, because unfortunately, like in real life, you sometimes don't win, even if you do everything right. And storytellers, who want to tell a story about truth, even if it hurts, have my respect. BTW I refused to make Amicia kill Hugo in the end, because I thought she suffered enough, and I did not want to force her to kill him, and I did not think she would be able to do it, no matter what. So I stopped and accepted, that the game would not end for me. But then the alternative ending happened for the case that the player made the decision for Amicia to not make her kill Hugo, and I thought it was the right one.

    • @watchmestruggle5760
      @watchmestruggle5760  Год назад

      Oh I see, thanks for the update on what happens with the alternative ending. I totally get what you're saying about the creators making the game with love and wanting to create an emotional ending. It makes me so angry when I'm watching a movie with my husband and I start crying when something emotional happens and he has no reaction and I get mad at the creators who made me watch it. I think it's just a me thing. I literally stopped watching and refuse to watch how to train your dragon after the second movie. I am prone to depressive states, so maybe thats why I try to steer away from sad media? My evening was definitely ruined after finishing this game.

      @@watchmestruggle5760 " I start crying when something emotional happens"..." I think it's just a me thing. " No, it's not. Or if, then it's a 'me too'-thing. Don't ask my why, but I'm exactly the same if things get emotional in movies, especially if it's about love or loss. And if kids are involved, it's even worse. I'm a loving and caring dad of a 9 yr old son, but my inner self always plays stupid what-if-games with me like: what would I do or feel in this or that situation? Well, I can't and don't want to change that anwyway, because it's a part of me, so... 🤷‍♂But hey, maybe I could cheer you up a little bit, knowing, somehwere out there is soul mate in comparable situations. 😉😇
