54, been cooking red beans and sausage on a stove 4-5 hrs for YEARS. Heard about instant pot decided to try one. I used my own recipe but your technique and BABAYYYY.. Red beans and sausage cooked in no time! If any user has never cooked red beans and sausage before, this is the perfect recipe and technique. Creamy gravy, not watery AT ALL. I use same ingredients plus a tad more bc that’s how I was raised, but follow according to her recipe and you will master the art of instant pot red beans and sausage with FLAVOR. A+!

I tried this recipe last night. It turned out exactly how you said it would. The only thing I did do differently was I soaked the beans for 30 mins then I boiled them on the stove for 30 mins. I found that to work better for me. Keep the videos coming hun. 😘

Coop!!! These came out soooooo good! I used my niece's instapot. She came home to a home cooked meal. I think I didn't do the quick boil right so I just added another 15 minutes to the pressure cooking and then added the salt and other seasonings. They are so good with my rice and cornbread. I can't wait to buy one for me. Thank you so so much. 💜💜💜💜

These are the best creamiest tasting red beans and rice I made yet. That quick way of soaking the beans really cut my time in half. But the first time I made this, I didn't season them right because I wasn't sure how much salt, pepper, and cajun seasoning to add to add. So I hardly put any in, and everything came up creamy and tasteless. But it didn't take much to season it to my liking, plus it didn't take as much seasoning as I thought it would. Now I know just how much to add. I never thought I'd see the day when I could make red beans and rice like this. Thanks so much for sharing this recipe.

You just solved the mystery of how to get my beans creamy in my pressure cooker!! I’ve always done the quick soak when cooking in the stove, but never with my PC. And, I didn’t know the issue about the salt, and I make very flavorful beans, so I was seasoning in the beginning and at the end if needed. So THANK YOU, I’m a seasoned cook at 58 years old, and you taught me new tricks, so you got yourself a new SUB!! I love it when young women are serious about cooking!! Good Food makes the world go round.

Truly great. The beans are velvety as though they’d been soaked overnight. Leaving out salt is the right choice too. Cannot go wrong. Of course if you are used to cook in a rice in your instant pot, you will have to do it the old-fashioned way on the stove. Or use a rice cooker.
And of course, now I feel like a bona fide member of Coop’s group of cookies.

This is actually the first recipe with red beans that cooks them right. There's supposed to be toxin in red beans which makes it imperative to boil them for at least 10 min. Your boil and soak method fills the bill. I just bought a pressure cooker and am still intimidated by it, but this is the first recipe I will try with it. Very easy to follow video. Thanks.
