  • In this video we're listening to another one from Band-Maid. This one had 15 suggestions at the time we recorded the video. They are a most impressive band, and we're interested to hear more. Enjoy!

It’s like Joe Satriani put on a Maid outfit 😂. Kanami has continually raised her skill level and it shows here. Plus Akane is absolutely slaying those drums, too. A rare song where Misa tales more of a backseat but she still has her moments. And Miku holds down the rhythm parts with such confidence and control - she’s become a true strong player over the years and it shows here. An excellent melody and great backing orchestration with the synth strings and piano provided by Kanami during the composition and recording phase. A classic rock instrumental that’ll stand the test of time. ✌🏼🎶🔥🎸🥁🤘🏼😀

Thanks from Japan 有難う💛。 I witnessed this song performed live flawlessly in B-M's pre-US concert in Tokyo and dropped my jaw 😲. I believe so did many of American audience at 12 venues in Oct./Nov. This song has been normally played in the middle of the setlist to give Saiki some break. Most of the audience at B-M's one-man (or one-person) concerts had, of course, already known their skills and talents. They played this song, however, as opening at three festivals (Download Japan / Summer Sonic, Japan and Aftershock, USA) and in Guns N' Roses concert in Japan as support to the legendary band. Yeah! they showed off their skills and talents to the audience who knew nothing about the girls in maid outfit on the stage. I felt as if I heard them screaming "Hey guys! Listen to us and open your eyes wide! We are not the persons that you think ! Salute us!" 😄

Sayonakidori is an acoustic version that Miku sings lead that Band-Maid put out last Christmas. Akani the drummer sings backup in a rare vocal performance showing the bands versatility.

Kanami (lead and composer) also does the backing tracks mostly programmed but may also add piano parts, she started on piano at 3/4 years old. They use the backing tracks for their live performances also. When you get to Band Maiko the additional instrumentation was I believe a joint effort between Kanami and their producer. My next suggestions are to either dive into Band Maiko with Gion Cho otherwise a change of pace and try Daydreaming or go acoustic with Sayonakidori (Miku on vocals) or Catharsis

Band Maid do play to alot of pre-recorded tracks when they play live....... not only because they don't have a "6th" member, but the want to sound as close to the studio version as possible when playing live. There's a whole bunch of arguments for and against this type of procedure, But I think Band Maid do it within reason. Kanami writes an orchestral part, plays a keyboard/piano part, with no extra member, the for me it's fine. Anything "extra" as a backing track LIVE is ok imo...... just as long as the backing track isn't the whole show....... looking at you KISS.

There is a building female fan base, but having talked to a few women about it, they say, being shorter than men, it's difficult for them to see the stage. I'm 5'10 and had trouble seeing past shoulders and raised hands at times. For stand-up venues, I'd like to see a women's section or some other accommodation. It's not as bad for women at male pop artists concerts where there's way more women.
