Really liked your video , just a few ? ‘S …..how did you determine measurement, why willow , finish used , the tools used . I am just a beginner so please forgive me. Thanks for sharing !
i picked this goat willow because its have nice colours in it. only measurement what i take it was lenght of my lathe between centers. only goal for me with this project was it has to be look cool😁 and the finish is homemade paste wax. tools i used spindle roughing gauge, parting tool, skew, spindle gauge.
I don't know what goat willow is like, but cricket bars have traditionally been made of willow. I think it has to do with their resilience(?) causing less jarring to the joints. Maybe?
I would love to turn wood like this but I know it would just end up like the time I tried to trim my own hair and ended up with a grade 2 all over!😅🤷🏽♀️🤓
It's not a baseball bat, it's a club. Next time you should go a to local shop with a measuring device to take actual measure from the object you're trying to make to be really accurate. Also, I would advise you to remove the bark off the wood before storing it to dry, it would make your life a lot more easier. Good turning technique but the result was below average because of the lack of preparation work. Edit: You don't even need to go to a shop, internet is there for you. Here, some dimensions for a bat: 86cm in total length, 67mm in diameter at the end, and the handle length must be between 27 and 30cm and about 25 to 30mm thick in diameter.
That's exactly what I was thinking too! Frank Thomas woulda had a hard time gripping that barrel. Fun project though. Nice rendition of an American baseball bat.
Hello, please help me. Me and my wife and two sons escaped from Afghanistan to Iran. The Taliban destroyed my whole life. I used to work for the Americans in Afghanistan. Please help me. I have no money, no country, how should my sons study. I don't have it. I got depressed myself. Please someone help me
Why not be critical civilly! It's okay to make constructive criticism. Although I don't believe he was trying to make a bat to spec, he deserves an opportunity to learn here, like bat specs for MLB are bat diameter no more than 2.61". Most bats weigh between 31 and 36 oz.
this bat is not planned for real work, only as a decoration on the wall. thats why news paper and bondo. Thanks for wathcing and commenting and have a nice day!
This is clearly the best bat available for bunting. Amazing work!!
Thanks a lot Man!
More like BamBam’s club
Nice work! The suction works splendidly.
Fred Flintstone approves 👍
At around 4 minutes it beautifully shows how a spindle gouge SHOULD be used!
This is a Home Run any way you look at it.. Nice Work..!
Is that bat for Fred Flintstone?
Maybe it could be!
😂
Bam-Bam
Its for the GEICO caveman😂😂
Great
It looks lovely! I had never thought of turning a baseball bat, before! Well done!
That’s funny I’d think it’s one of the easier and more obvious things a channel like this would do lol
Love the work man
Made one of these in highschool for woodshop .
Beautiful caveman club for Alley Oop.
That is a club fit for BamBam. It's nice though
I love this channel very much
I'm glad to hear that👍
Chúc gia đình nhỏ luôn luôn hp đầy tình yêu thương ❤❤❤❤❤️
Great use of the different chisels and how did we manage before CA glue?😃Beautiful bat, keep the burglars at bay.
still trying to learn different way to use chisels.a welcome gift for uninvited guests😀😀
Шедевр. Но печку истопить пользительней етим поленом.
Nice job. Did you think about starting with a band saw to cut it to rough shape first?
i don't see any benefit it this kind of project. Perhaps if the blank had been much larger and more uneven.
@@jarkko.makkonen I like it shown from the raw branch.
Super 👷👍
Skull Smasher👍

Flint stone bat
captain caveman club...
my question is. how long is it? and how heavy is it. it looks like a 33 inch bat. i could never do anything like that. i am impressed by his skill.
31-32inch or 80cm long. 8,5cm diameter and 1,8 kg
Weights like 38oz...the Babe Ruth special
Ash wood?
Is that to spec? How much does it weigh?
80cm long. 8,5cm diameter and 1,8 kg.
@@jarkko.makkonen Can become a good weapon for self defence 😜😂😂

As far as weight, real bats have weights put in them.
Not true
No they do not. Not legal
Momma always told me if I didn’t have something nice to say then don’t say nothing so……………………………………

Me neither. This bat is better decorative object than functional bat. Thanks for watching!
