Honestly, the closest fight was SSSN vs NDGO. Then again, that battle did happen after this one so
I mean, it was like the first or second in the tournament so it didn't have much to go against.
It probably was pretty even, until RWBY got the numbers edge.

I love how Weiss was fucking up those 2 guys by herself, plus her idea of using the ice to accelerate Yang. And the strategy that Blake showed on this fight too.
Although throughout this whole fight it seems the two opponents that were the most trouble were The Hoverboard girl and the Monk girl.

Remember when Blake used her semblance like crazy? I missed her old fighting style. She would hit, then follow up with a copy to hit, then hit again. Like now shes just a support character which sucks
I remember when she used to use her clones offensively like propelling off of them and use the multiple Gambol Shroud forms in combat. Now she's just Spiderman.

The fight scenes from recent volumes are considerably better animated but there's still something so fluid and coherent in the fight scenes from vol. 1-3
Newest seasons have better graphics, but their animation peaked here.
These fight scenes had the proper weight to them, if we could have these kinds of fight scenes with the newer graphics then it'd be top tier

I'd watched so much anime before I watched RWBY for the first time in 2015. And while there's many fights in anime and anime that have good action nothing has ever been as wild or unique as RWBY's has been. In Volume 5 atm Cinder vs. Raven is a fight that brings things back to form to the wild, unrestrained type of action that made RWBY awesome.

Her eyes only change colour when she's angry or pissed off, as there have been several times when her eyes changed to the colour red when she was out of combat and just angry.
The reason why her eyes change colour when she uses her semblance is that she often gets angry when she fights or her opponents anger her.
Also Yangs mother's natural eye colour is that same shade and colour of red though her mothers eyes are always red and don't change.

she was also pissed with Neon (oh wow such coincidence) yes she did turned red against Neon... but there was some moments when she had them Blue .. like 2 or 3 times as she was mad.
princepippa a qualifier in a battle is the first battle of a team or individual to see who is the stronger of the two,
And yangs eyes didn’t change because she wasn’t mad, or used her semblance, this round she was more having fun and fighting then getting mad, and her eyes change when she uses her semblance but her hair also turns into a kind of flame like thing, that’s how you know if she used her semblance or not, if her hair “flared”
I miss seeing them together so fucking much.

I come back and re-watch this fight every so often, and love it just as much each time. This time I noticed something I'd missed until now, which is that Arslan used her cord to trip Yang. Very cool blink-and-you'll-miss-it moment. One question: can anyone explain to me exactly what Weiss's glyphs do? They seem to be some sort of attraction/repulsion thing, maybe, but the effects seem very random and I'm not sure what the difference is between the black and the white ones.

Smashing teamwork by Team RWBY. They play to each other strengths by combining the sum of their total. Its obvious Ruby isn't good at close combat fighting as is evident here and in future seasons of this series but makes up for it with her other skills involving that bad ass weapon long range wise. Weiss is a great support as her dust abilities definitely can make use setting up her team mates for follow up attacks as you can see with Yang's powerhouse blowout. Blake is the all around character as her abilities and close fighting combat skills make her useful alongside her long range whip attacks.

You can tell that the first little bit of the fight wasn’t animated by Monty. When Ruby spins her scythe it just turns into a red stick

I really like Reese and the Monk girl, but I think the two guys on ABRN are rather generic looking. I guess that's just a trait of the series tho as most of the male characters don't really have as exciting designs.
