Simon and Garfunkel wrote a beautifully classic song! It’s crazy that the original version, the Disturbed version and the Pentatonix version are the same song but the interpretations are different and make the song sound completely different and original!

I was 8 years old when Simon and Garfunkel released this song. I loved it the first time I heard it. When I (much later) heard the Pentatonix version, for me that surpassed the original. The first time I heard Disturbed's arrangement/version - this is now my forever favorite version of this song ever. What an awesome arrangement! Thank you for another awesome reaction to an awesome song!!

David Draiman is a vocal beast! I saw him in a very small venue so it was cool to see them without all the madness that happens in big stage shows. No autotune simply talent!

Well, he used the voice that was appropriate for the lyrics he was singing during each part of the song. When the lyrics are soft, he's singing soft. When the lyrics ramp up, his voice does too. When the lyrics express rage, so does his voice. It's called, dynamics.
You didn't get the full effect of the performance stopping it every other second.

I don’t know why but this song for me paints a picture of people walking around on there phones. “To the Neon God they made ❤❤❤❤
That's how timeless the lyrics are. This song was written in 1965, nearly 60 years later the words ring ever more true. Fantastic lyrics and Draiman gives it a voice worthy of those lyrics. Not sure if I like this or the studio version better. The studio version showcases his voice a bit better IMHO. This version let Draiman project emotion to a live audience which he did with aplomb.
David Draiman is also a classically trained Jewish Cantor. He was very ill during this performance.

Someone described the original by Simon & Garfunkel (1964) as a warning to the future; the cover by Disturbed (2015) is the response from the future back to the past. Great song, amazing cover. Weird trivia: The Lincoln Project used it in a political add in 2020 about lockdown during Covid. It was haunting; but it was taken down due to copyrights.

Actually, I watched an interview with David and he said he had vocal damage during this performance. But he did it anyway. I absolutely LOVE this song. I can listen to it over and over and not get tired of it.
