To sound like Hendrix, it doesn't have to be a cheap strat. It could be a cheap alternative, Something like a low end Yamaha Pacifica would have worked and stayed in tune.
it has to be the classic vibe strat with maple fretboard, either a marshall amp or a fender cos he uses both, a tube screamer, a fuzz face, a little bit of delay, probably reverb and a vox wah
This sounds absolutely incredible! Way better than the £1500 without busting the bank rig! This sounds the closest to Hendrix I've ever heard! Incredible made me tear up a little listening to you guys play!
And for Metallica Both Matt and Bea need FULL stacks, and since they dont stock Randall amps they cant get Kirks KH103(which is amazing) but they could do like a Mesa Dual Rec for James tone and a Mark V for Kirks, or since it is BY BUSTING just do what James Use to and run a Diezel VH4 and a Mesa stack(why not? it is Metallica) and then the Mark V and say a Marshall stack, both have Signature EMGs now(Kirks about to hit the market soon) THIS WOULD BE EPIC! if any1 deserves full stacks its Metallica (even tho they use AXFX live now but it doesnt look as cool)
One of the most important and overlooked part of Jimi’s tone was that he ran an extremely high capacitance cable (around 3000pF total) into the original unbuffered wah pedal with around a 68k ohms input impedance, which put the resonant frequency and Q values of his pickups down into hot humbucker territory. That 3k pF + 2.5 Henry inductance from the strat pickup is roughly equivalent to an 8 Henry pickup into a modern buffered input (but with a slightly higher Q).
For most on here you could give them Jimi’s original Strat, 3 x 100 Marshall stacks and an Afro wig and they would still sound like themselves. It’s the mark of an excellent guitarist such as Rabea that can get a tune out of any old guitar, regardless of price. Plenty of stuff on RUclips from players extracting incredible performances from Squier Bullets.
Nice one lads! I think you achieved a very convincing tone for that budget. Always impressed with the bullets, change a bit of the hardware and you’re sorted!
Admirable effort fellas, but tbh I think the £500 limit is just too restricting to get any variety or a good enough sound. For the first time, this really did just sound like a cheap rig imo.
Also if any rig seems to not quite cut it and you have a bit of budget left you can supplement just about any rig with an EQ pedal and make any rig more versatile.
William Allison There is also the US$2.000 Adrian San Dimas, or the old Dave's signature ( H S H). The new US$1.000 Dave signature is Made in Mexico, but I think it still is awesome.
@Pedreiro Elegante oh yeah i forgot about Adrian's high end version of his SDX Jackson, it definately blows the cheap £400 version out of the water! and i don't think they stock the classic dave murray strat with double humbucker and a single coil with the regular bar, but the triple humbucker and floyd rose is a definate! for amps it's gonna be Victory V100 which dave uses now and Marshall for Adrian get a flanger/phaser for the intro of number of the beast cos there is a quick sound of one of them from dave there, plus a full size wah, a chorus, a delay and a reverb pedal if neccecary Adrian also uses a wah and his wah he uses now sounds very similar to the Zakk Wylde wah (it might even be it lol) still maybe a wah for him too, idk and hopefully a steve harris bass rig cos it's always best for a bass rig thrown in if you're doing classic iron maiden over modern iron maiden with Janick Gers who took over for adrian back in the day when adrian left
I've said it a few times already, sound like Iron Maiden by busting the bank and have Nathan come in and help. I like when Matt does bass but you need 2 guitars and a bass for Maiden.
Really love your "sound like" videos, but why in the world didn't you go for the Marshall Code instead of the Katana? They're both digital, but Jimi actually used Marshalls. Even the Fender Mustang 3 would've been better as Jimi used Fender Bassmans a lot in the studio!
i heard Hotel California being played on the radio today lol because i know more about Don it should be, Epiphone or Gibson Les Paul, a fender amp either Blues JR or Hotrod Deluxe, for fx a chorus ensemble by Boss, along with a Fulltone OCD, a DD3 or DD7 Delay and a talkbox specifically for "Those Shoes" i can just say for Joe get a telecaster
Hard to find a bargain for those. Even the Epiphone version of the Gibson EDS-1275 double-neck Don is using live costs £1000. Don then has it set up with separate outputs for each neck with the 12-string going into a rotary amp/speaker and the 6-string into a tweed or blackface of some sort. You can do it with one amp and some effects, but not for much less than £1500. I occasionally play this song and use a Dean SG-style double-neck through a Kemper with separate settings for the clean 12-string and the moderately distorted 6-string.
they did it but it's pretty rubbish! so how about BY busting, and i found from lots of rundowns with him or his tech Scott Appleton it's fairly easy BY busting
in the Philippines, if you have £500 budget for gear, you'll be golden. I myself is a rockin a £100 indonesian made guitar and a very very old cable. 1 shredhead Preamp and straight to the Amp. and we rely on Amps provided at events. and some guitarists complain for their gear for pointless reasons. the main point is appreciate what you have and make something out of it :) great video as always.
Surprised you didn't use a Marshall Code. Then all you would need was a wah pedal. Katana is nice but for a Marshall sound the Code is better. I realize you just used the Code recently but a artist known for the Marshall sound the obvious choice imo would have been the Code.
Yeah, the CODE50 is a bit boomy like the speaker is trying to sound bigger than it is, but partly because of that it will do classic Hendrix with the built in effects. It's the kind of tone it does best.
I’m at 3:35 right now. I’d say buy a squire classic vibe, 60s or 50s ether really And a Marshall Code 25 And if there’s any money left over; buy a why or expression pedal for wah sounds ( if the amp saports it)
well last time they couldn't find a V so they had to use a Custom Les Paul so this time they could get a Gibson V for amps it'll be either the Marshall JCM or the JTM an MXR Distortion +, MXR Stereo Chrous, MXR Flanger, an EQ, an Octave pedal for Over The Mountain's guitar solo and the wah
Hmm not bad think on the pedals and the amps but I think not a Gibson V I prefer the les Paul because he was using a les paul custom☺☺ By the way what you have to say about the previous les paul custom on the WITHOUT BUSTING THE BANK( sound, quality ).
You all are great!! I love these little videos and comparisons. However, I must say the fuxx fuzz is a bit lacking (sounds pretty poorly)... That Vox wah kills it - great wah!! Thanks Gentlemen
sorry guys. i normally like your sounds like but not this time. i think it would have been better accompanied by a bass not another guitar. sounds messy. keep em coming though, i watch every one. cheers.
i know Syn has a signature model guitar but it's too expensive, they could try for a guitar with a sustainer if possible but if not a schecter with a floyd rose and seymour duncans, his signature Hellwin amp to me looks like a Marshall JVM and because they won't use marshall anymore it's gonna be either boss katana or egnater tweaker or maybe fender bass breaker, fx he uses a wah for the solo in requiem so get that, mayb some delay, an octave for the Planets Solo and perhaps a harmonist for Zacky he too has a signature schecter but too much money, i think something with double humbuckers like an SG, for amps he has Jet City but andertons ain't got them so i think either Boss Katana, Egnater Tweaker or maybe Fender Bassbreaker, for fx it just needs to be a chorus for bat country's clean part and a overdrive
Love these under 500 vids. Me being broke, and I really don't play out anymore. I really don't need the bigrigs now. What do you think of doing incubus for under5?
You guys have usually done a good job with these, but this was an exception... Far from Hendrix. Little Wing sounded all right, but Purple Haze sounded like diarrhea... Not what i wanted to hear!
MegaCrasherMusic He didn't say he could do it better, did he? He simply stated it didn't sound good and I agree. The fuzz is horrible. Jimi never played with such a sound.
I liked the "Without busting" way better the guitar and amp seems like a huge compromise, would a Classic Vibe and a DSL15 or similar with the same pedals be under $1000?
JackGames 115 no one said it’s cheap but it is easy, they literally have signature everything except pedals. Sig guitars, amps, basses, it’s not exactly complicated.
PLEASE do a SOUND LIKE ANYBODY! $1500 or whatever, Matt vs Rabea. Would be really cool. Most versatile rig
That is an awesome idea. Thumbs up!
Squier Classic Vibe or Epiphone Les Paul and Marshall DSL40 or Fender Bassbreaker?
John Bradford I’ve asked for this numerous times......still waiting. Would be nice though
We just need to keep it up!
This would be great
Sounds like Nickleback without killing yourself
Jacob Reece by pulling the trigger... Eh... I mean, busting the bank
Jacob Reece too soon mate....too soon
LOOK AT THIS GRAAAAAAAAPHHH
Dalton Heitmann what do you mean?
It's basically a meme he's referring to.
The backstage needs a camera, that's always pointing on Danish Pete. I'd love to get knackered with him one day, life goals.
Petecam, it needs to happen
And we need him miked up too
then it would become the DP show
absolutely!
Sound like Chappers and the Captain - For Under £500: first buy a pack of Carlsberg...
You will sound like danish pete.
How much fuzz could a fuxx fuzz fuzz if a fuxx fuzz could fuxx fuzz?
Nikolai B well it could fuzz alot of fuzz from fuxx fuzz if you fuxx fuxx it enough fuzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz😅😂
A fuxx load
How many fuxx does the fuxx fuzz fuzz if the fuxx says fuzz?
To sound like Hendrix, it doesn't have to be a cheap strat. It could be a cheap alternative, Something like a low end Yamaha Pacifica would have worked and stayed in tune.
for 100 quids it is hard to find good sounding guitar without issues ...
stanislavmigra buy used
John Gorgis that's not really how this channel works though is it.
I was reacting according to this channel and program rules ... but, buying guitar aroung 100 quids second hand and expect no issue? like realy?
Could possibly get a Vintage brand strat. Would put it at 550 maybe.
money left over to mod tuners bridge - nice
There's nothing more nice then having that spare mon' mon'.
Sound like rammstein PLZ. Really like your videos keep them up :D
I haven't watch the video yet but i'm sure they're going to use that red squier strat.
Edit: i was right!
Elliott T surely
Sound like Rory Gallagher without busting the bank!!!
definitely 👌
This please!
And by busting the bank, such amazing artist needs more love from Andertons !
Squier CV Strat, Orange CR 35
I'm surprised so few people mention Orange crush amps in general, they are so solid, i have a crush 35 myself, thing is a beast.
Sounds like Ritchie Blackmore please!!
Kool Stuffz shame they don't stock Engl.. 😥
Joseph Smith what?
1500 pounds can't buy you that kind of ego.
A 60’s classic vibe Squier, a Fuzz Box, and a Marshall amp With 4x12 cab, maybe?
good one!
Sound like Eric Johnson
it has to be the classic vibe strat with maple fretboard, either a marshall amp or a fender cos he uses both, a tube screamer, a fuzz face, a little bit of delay, probably reverb and a vox wah
William Allison and the tone control backed off a bit
Sound like Kyuss for under 500!
And then "without busting", and then "by busting". Just lots of Kyuss please.
I'd be happy if they just played Whitewater through all sorts of different rigs. One of the greatest tones of all time :-)
Ritchie Blackmore
Sound like PIXIES !
Joan Gomes yes!
yes mate!
MegaCrasherMusic or even headcarrier
Tone is one thing - what I love the most is the playing with attitude :). Great stuff.
Sound like John petrucci , please !!!
Lucas figueiredo been asking for over a year now.
Hoping they'll finally do it soon
Mesa JP2C.
Lucas figueiredo it would be a miracle if they manage to do it for under 5k
This sounds absolutely incredible! Way better than the £1500 without busting the bank rig! This sounds the closest to Hendrix I've ever heard! Incredible made me tear up a little listening to you guys play!
Metallica by busting?
That has to happen, it would be absolutely epic
OMG, your avatar is adorable mate
Are you perhaps a potato
Yes yes yes
Great job. Enjoyed the phrasing and the settings used since I own the Katana. Much appreciated.
It sounds a bit bass heavy, but maybe that's adjustable on the amp. Sounds good for 500 quid, though!
Do a Yngwie Malmsteen one, please!
For most on here you could give them Jimi’s original Strat, 3 x 100 Marshall stacks and an Afro wig and they would still sound like themselves. Intrigued to see a sound like for under £500 for Metallica. That's what I tried to do when I was 14!
Dangg. When you picked that strat again... I wasn't feeling it, until you played it. Pretty impressed with that gear.
Muse BY BUSTING
Isaac Miller Yes please!
by busting A NUT
A NUT
Funny way to spell Radiohead
Allan Murder Thats a dead joke, try harder next time.
Nice one lads! I think you achieved a very convincing tone for that budget. Always impressed with the bullets, change a bit of the hardware and you’re sorted!
How a bout qotsa or the raconteurs or jack white by busting
? Bogus Jack White > really nice semi hollow > Whammy > POG2 > Original Big Muff > Nice Amp
? Bogus already did jack white
Rad amp! I was hoping to see it in one of these videos. Great job guys.
Jimi hendrix BY busting pleaaase :)
Maximilien_438 You idiot, there is a reason why they did this video, Because the first one busted the bank
All of you who liked, are COMPLETE idiots.
Spunge Bawb the first video is literally called without busting the bank, you idiot. Lol.
That run on the low strings of the Hey Joe solo was sick! thank you sir
And, once again, showing that much of the tone of a guitar set-up comes from the fingers of the player. And we all know what a fine player Rabea is.
Please do Iron Maiden by busting the bank
it has to have the £800+ David Murray signature fender strat
William Allison There is also the US$2.000 Adrian San Dimas, or the old Dave's signature ( H S H). The new US$1.000 Dave signature is Made in Mexico, but I think it still is awesome.
@Pedreiro Elegante oh yeah i forgot about Adrian's high end version of his SDX Jackson, it definately blows the cheap £400 version out of the water!

and hopefully a steve harris bass rig cos it's always best for a bass rig thrown in if you're doing classic iron maiden over modern iron maiden with Janick Gers who took over for adrian back in the day when adrian left
William Allison Yeah, I think they discontinued the 80's Dave's signature... I didn't know Dave changed from Marshall, cool to know.
I've said it a few times already, sound like Iron Maiden by busting the bank and have Nathan come in and help. I like when Matt does bass but you need 2 guitars and a bass for Maiden.
Squire bullet strat was my 1st guitar, I never knew till I bought a usa strat that it wasn’t great, thanks for the vid guys , classic as usual,
Do it by busting the bank
I am not putting the Squier down, but playing that Fender alongside of it really does make the Squier sound like what it is.
Really love your "sound like" videos, but why in the world didn't you go for the Marshall Code instead of the Katana? They're both digital, but Jimi actually used Marshalls. Even the Fender Mustang 3 would've been better as Jimi used Fender Bassmans a lot in the studio!
Luke Kerr actually the clean on the marshall code isnt half bad
I love how you have two real good guitarists with two guitars and it has all the same layers and sound as Jimi on his own!
Sound like THE EAGLES (Felder and Walsh)
i heard Hotel California being played on the radio today lol
because i know more about Don it should be, Epiphone or Gibson Les Paul, a fender amp either Blues JR or Hotrod Deluxe, for fx a chorus ensemble by Boss, along with a Fulltone OCD, a DD3 or DD7 Delay and a talkbox specifically for "Those Shoes"

This is a great series. Thanks for the videos.
Do Sound Like Jason Pierce
I'd fucking love that
That was cool, guys, thanx. Really enjoyed it.
Van Halen! how have you not done this one
Little wing was solid! Great stuff even and though my budget isn’t nearly this small still a great job.
Sound like Alex Lifeson (RUSH)
they did it but it's pretty rubbish!
so how about BY busting, and i found from lots of rundowns with him or his tech Scott Appleton it's fairly easy BY busting
They did it already.
Geddy Lee, John Paul jones
"Fuxx fuzz" is probably the best pedal names I've ever heard, I love that
I say it again! Please do sound like The Who without busting the bank!
Thankyou for this episode!
Sound like Meshuggah without busting the bank
in the Philippines, if you have £500 budget for gear, you'll be golden. Megadeth (Rust in Peace)
Eddie Van Halen

Judas Priest
Good going on this one. Blackstar id core work pretty well also. How about a Sounds like Robben Ford to add to the list?
The cult by not busting or the clash please
Matt's pint glass playing was on point in this video.
Albert king without busting
Yes but did the percussion section from little wing get accounted into the budget?
Surprised you didn't use a Marshall Code. Then all you would need was a wah pedal. Katana is nice but for a Marshall sound the Code is better. I realize you just used the Code recently but a artist known for the Marshall sound the obvious choice imo would have been the Code.

At 6:29 i going crazy!! That sound, this is pure Hendrix man!!!

Sound like Rory Gallagher under £500
I’m at 3:35 right now.
I’d say buy a squire classic vibe, 60s or 50s ether really
And a Marshall Code 25
And if there’s any money left over; buy a why or expression pedal for wah sounds ( if the amp saports it)
Am i the only one who watches these challenge videos mainly for the shopping part?
Kimmo Kylä-Laaso nope, me too
I love how Bea jams to hey joe, this, the mxr pedals video, the original sounds like Jimi, maybe you should do an aproach video about that
Please do Sound like Blackmore without busting The Bank.
The outtakes at the end were worth the price of admission...
Maybe sound like Sunn0)))
or Obituary
I could listen to Bea play all day, so good.
Sound like Ritchie Blackmore
wow sounds great love that boss katana so much
sound like the stone roses
Cool video. Katana seems like a great amp. Could you do a sound like Boston?
Randy Rhoads BY busting the bank PLEASE!!
V! V!!
LES PAUL!!!!!! or V!!!! but I prefer the LES PAUL!!!
well last time they couldn't find a V so they had to use a Custom Les Paul so this time they could get a Gibson V
for amps it'll be either the Marshall JCM or the JTM
an MXR Distortion +, MXR Stereo Chrous, MXR Flanger, an EQ, an Octave pedal for Over The Mountain's guitar solo and the wah
Hmm not bad think on the pedals and the amps but I think not a Gibson V I prefer the les Paul because he was using a les paul custom☺☺ By the way what you have to say about the previous les paul custom on the WITHOUT BUSTING THE BANK( sound, quality ).
That water spot at 2:37 needs attention. Other than that - ANOTHER fab video! ....and once again, the Boss Katana is simply the best for the $$.
AC/DC UNDER 500!
alan met They're way ahead of you
Nice one.....YES!
You all are great!! I love these little videos and comparisons. However, I must say the fuxx fuzz is a bit lacking (sounds pretty poorly)... That Vox wah kills it - great wah!! Thanks Gentlemen
sorry guys. i normally like your sounds like but not this time. i think it would have been better accompanied by a bass not another guitar. sounds messy. keep em coming though, i watch every one. cheers.
Shoestring sound baby..love it
Sound like animals as leaders!!
(Just so we can see how good rabea is on a eight string 😂😂hopefully I wont feel as inferior afterwards)
There is a cheap Ibanez 8 string you can get so that could help
and Matt could do Javier's rig while Rabea does Tosin
it would be interesting to see Bea attempt Tosin's thumb thump technique 😁
Awesome vid, keep up the good work
sound like Avenged Sevenfold please!
i know Syn has a signature model guitar but it's too expensive, they could try for a guitar with a sustainer if possible but if not a schecter with a floyd rose and seymour duncans, his signature Hellwin amp to me looks like a Marshall JVM and because they won't use marshall anymore it's gonna be either boss katana or egnater tweaker or maybe fender bass breaker, fx he uses a wah for the solo in requiem so get that, mayb some delay, an octave for the Planets Solo and perhaps a harmonist
for Zacky he too has a signature schecter but too much money, i think something with double humbuckers like an SG, for amps he has Jet City but andertons ain't got them so i think either Boss Katana, Egnater Tweaker or maybe Fender Bassbreaker, for fx it just needs to be a chorus for bat country's clean part and a overdrive
Honestly in my opinion. Squier Bullets sound awesome, especially for earlier Hendrix stuff. Something about that crunch.
Sound like "Extreme"???
Callum Hastie ewwww that's glam metal
Great job guys!!
Sound like Alice in Chains by busting the bank
Love these under 500 vids. Me being broke, and I really don't play out anymore. I really don't need the bigrigs now. What do you think of doing incubus for under5?

@@hesch-tag the fuzz sounds cool, stop being a whiny baby
Awesome videos dudes! Sound like Dick Dale, the Ventures, and or Surf Punks would be totally gnarly!
Sound like the Beatles?
I liked the "Without busting" way better the guitar and amp seems like a huge compromise, would a Classic Vibe and a DSL15 or similar with the same pedals be under $1000?
Avenged sevenfold by busting the bank
Too simple IMO, just buy their signature rig.
JackGames 115 that's boring
Łukasz Jamrugiewicz u do it if it's so cheap and easy
XxHarounXx u do it if it's so cheap and simple
JackGames 115 no one said it’s cheap but it is easy, they literally have signature everything except pedals. Sig guitars, amps, basses, it’s not exactly complicated.
The fuxx fuzz doesn't fuxx up the fuzz. Pretty Impressive
That Fuzz was horrible
Please do Sounds like QOTSA under 500 or By busting the bank, or both please
Limp bizkit by busting the bank

Wes Borland doesn't though.
