Thanks very helpful and some excellent reminders. Hey be careful of leaving your crystal ball on the dash in the car, I had one that was on a window sill that resulted in burning from the magnification luckily I was home and saw the smoke!
Great information thanks mate. Unfortunately the boom is continuing through 2024 with very little ground. I'm just plodding along waiting for the bust lol
Good on you thanks, spot on it's a real estate cycle ,ten years boom to bust, increasing costs for everything fuel etc expenditure is not to be taken lightly , good talk
Great vid Tony, coming up Leonora way in the near future, wifey and would love to be able to say hello to you and Lisa while up there! Cheers Jeza Dunne
hi very good talk I've now got an idea what to look for but I'm only doing metal detecting not in all that big stuff only just to have bit of getting out and having some fun and do bit of camping only I and my fiancé what's the go with 40e permits I haven't really understood that section only if a tenement is alive that's were 40e comes to play but I'm not sure the basics on this but I have all the maps etc. for pending and live one day i would like to catch up and get more info etc. down the track but I've only been around the Midwest like Yalgoo areas as I'm in Dongara and my timing doesn't allow me to go out often due to work or weather but I've subscribed to your channel so far awesome
Hi Tony, thanks for a great video. Getting to that stage in life, recently retired and my crystal balls are definitely shrunk, so this type of lifestyle (basic prospecting) really rings a bell for me and probably other retirees as you mentioned in this video. Just getting out and walking around exploring with a detector would be such a change from 40 years of office work. Have you ever considered running working holidays through one of your tenements for a group of like minded people wanting to prospect for a week, with initial guidance from you and work out some percentage of anything found? just having the chance to have a yarn with someone like you would be great :) regards Chad
Hi Chad, thank you for your feedback...much appreciated. I had not thought of a 'working holiday' arrangement but we do run one or two camps each year where we take a small group out to one of our leases and we can show/teach them what we do for a living. If you go to our website at goldtalkleonora.com.au you can see what I'm on about.
Seems like very sound advice from someone who knows the pitfalls . Good onya for offering a helping hand to any newbies out there that want to give it a go , well done . If i lived in WA i would probably take you up on that . thanks for posting this valuable information . cheers . 👍✔
Hi Tony Its been around 8 months since you posted this sage bit of advice, has that cycle you mentioned peaked yet? I'm heading out your way in May for 3 months prospecting, I'd love to know more about finding good Alluvial ground to peg, is there any research work you recommend? Thanks mate
Epic advise for someone looking to transition from working full time to fulltime prospecting with the dream to mine. Thanks and now im going to rabbit hole the rest of your videos!
Excellent information, thank you. But, as someone who only wants to prospect for fun, not profit, although in saying that, I would love to find a few bits of gold while going out prospecting. And, in saying that, I'm a money poor pensioner, with little money to waste. :D
Hey Goldtalk! Just wondering how you would go about pegging a P lease when there is already a exploration lease covering the area you want? Is it just as easy as it would be for pegging a clear area of UCL land or is it more complicated?
The ground has to be available first...so in the scenario you describe....you cannot peg a Prospecting Licence. You may be able to peg an SPL (Special Prospecting Licence) but thats a whole different situation.
Hi my name is Andy . I am 57 and on a pension I only own a Garrett at pro and At max with small medium & large coil. Is it worth going to detect for gold with the ATMax and since I have never done before what would be my best option to find a bit of land . Would like to go next winter 2023 Any advise on how ,who ,or where to go ,many thanks Andy ps I don’t have any super . I just live from pay to pay .I live in a snake caravan…
Hi Andy, You will be up against it with the detectors you have...they are more suited for treasure than gold. If you were coming up I would base yourself at the caravan park as it's a good place to meet other prospectors and I am sure you will wind up getting invited out. Good Luck!
100% nailed it Tony, sick and tired of land grabbers and opportunists, A block is only worth what people want to pay., so people DONT buy it haha. As far as I am concerned no block is worth more than 5K unless there is some kind of infrastructure or machinery etc. If only it was much easier process to plaint the people, wanna play real-estate "go sell house's" 🤣
yep, plenty of gold left ....but will you find it??? who knows?? Most prospectors don't want to do the hard yards and that is one reason they may not find the riches they desire.
Tony really like your information first I think you have to have a sense of humour about Al of this is looking for gold really worth all the trouble. Or should I just sell cocaine and stay at home you there are sharks in this business than in the Indian Ocean so is it really worth it
Depends on what you want out of your prospecting, what stage of life you are at and what your wants are. Don't worry too much about my sharks comments...they are everywhere mate.
Great advice Tony, thanks for the warnings. They're more relevant now than they were at the time.
That was a very informative, honest discussion on a topic that crosses every prospectors mind. Rich poor or otherwise.
thanks Bob...appreciate the feedback.
Greetings ◇

Boa noite 🇧🇷
thanks.....I think?????
Not so much a comment but a question is there still gold out there for the punter or is it just like going to the races and hope for the best
yep, plenty of gold left ....but will you find it??? who knows?? Most prospectors don't want to do the hard yards and that is one reason they may not find the riches they desire.
