śrī-śuka uvāca: jambūdvīpasya ca rājann upadvīpān aṣṭau haika upadiśanti sagarātmajair aśvānveṣaṇa imāṁ mahīṁ parito nikhanadbhir upakalpitān.
Śrī Śuka said: As we can immediately see, the Earth Island itself has eight islands - like children born from the ocean, seeking the east. They split this wide land into variable configurations.
This appears to identify that the world is subdivided into continents, and these continents can assume various configurations. Modern geology usually identifies seven continents, but here Śuka mentions eight by including the Northern Ice-Cap.

tad yathā svarṇaprasthaś candraśukla āvartano ramaṇako mandarahariṇaḥ pāñcajanyaḥ siṁhalo laṅketi.[1]
They are named: Golden Abode, Glittering White, Revolver, Romancer, Slow Sun, Widegrower, Leonine, and Branch.
The list of names starts from the westernmost and proceeds to the easternmost.
Golden Abode (svarṇa-prastha) may be so named because the sun sets in the west. When doing so, it turns the sky golden. The sun appears to "go indoors" by setting, hence the westernmost continent is called "Sun's Home" or "Golden Abode."
In chapter 16, Śuka previously identified the southern tropical region as "Golden" (hari) and as a "Gold Source" (hemakuṭa). So, I sugget that Golden Abode refers to the south-western continent we currently call South America.
Glittering White (candra-śukla) may be so named because there is a large landmass covered with snow. In chapter 16, Śuka previously identified the northern temperate region as being "Resplendant" (hiraṇmaya) and "White" (śveta). So, I suggest that Glittering White refers to the north-western continent, North America.
Revolver (āvartana) may be so named because this region is glacial, and floats on the ocean, rather than being rooted to it's floor. Also, the name is appropriate because it surrounds the pole, where directions flip (āvartana). Also, the world rotates around (āvartana) the pole. As such, I believe this refers to the Northern Ice-Cap.
Romancer (ramaṇaka) should then be found in the "center of the map." Indeed in Chapter 16, Śuka identified the northern tropical zone as "Romantic" (ramyaka) and "Night-like" (nīla). So, it seems Romancer refers to Africa.
Slow Sun (mandara-hariṇa) seems to be an obvious arctic reference, where days and nights slow and elongate to be up to six months long. By its order in the list should be found at the South Pole. Hence it seems to refer to Antartica.
Widegrower (pāñcajanya) should refer to the widest landmass. Another meaning of pāñcajanya is "Fifth-born." The fifth zone of Bhū, counting upwards from the base, is hiraṇmaya, the northern temparate zone. Indeed there is an extremely widespread landmass in the eastern hemisphere of this zone, merging Russia and Europe into a single conceptual entity.
Leonine (siṁhala) probably refers to the location of the throne and emperor (siṁha), so it should refer to India and Asia.
Branched (laṅka) seems an obvious reference to Australia, since it seems to be "broken" or "split" (laṇka) from the rest.

[1] śrī-śuka uvāca - Śrī Śuka said. jambūdvīpasya - of Jambūdvīpa. ca - and. rājan - king. upadvīpān aṣṭau - in eight sub-islands. ha eka upadiśanti - as can be seen at once. sagara ātmajaiḥ - children of the ocean. aśva-anveṣaṇa - seeking the east / the horse. imāṁ mahīṁ paritaḥ nikhanadbhir upakalpitān - splitting this land into into configurations; tat yathā - those are. svarṇaprasthaḥ - Golden Abode. candraśuklaḥ - Glittering White. āvartanaḥ - Revolver. ramaṇakaḥ - Romancer. mandarahariṇaḥ - Slow Sun. pāñcajanyaḥ - Widegrower. siṁhalaḥ - Leonine. laṅka - Branch. iti.

I find this fascinating and the timing synchronistic as only yesterday I was synchronistically introduced to a book that contained an image that depicted Jambu island surrounded by 6 other islands and oceans. The image was labeled the 7 continents. The image however was reminiscent of European models of the geocentric celestial spheres from the 1500s.
Today, I found your channel after searching for “reincarnation and astrology”. This evening, RUclips notifies me of this upload even though it was posted 6 days ago.
I feel very comfortable with your platform and the information you share. Thank you.

    I dare to argue this.
If i remember right, in Hari Varsha deity worshipped was Narasimha Dev, and in middle Europe, Germany, France, Alps, have been find ten thousands of ancient Narasimha deities.
Above Hari Varsha deity worshipped was a Bear. I am from Finland and Bear are here still very respected and we have heared stories that in long time ago people here had this idea that Bears are higher forms than humans and bear was worshipped.
Also in Russian area we can see this.
And old Finnish Language by the way very similar with older version of Sanskrit

One interesting thing is Lanka. In Ramayana the distance Hanuman jumps is around 1200 km. The distance between Australia and India is roughly around that number. So it may be that the Lanka in Ramayana is actually Australia. What do you think?

Sociedades e grupos se desenvolvem melhor no hemisfério norte . Por isso os mais desenvolvidos socialmente e economicamente e intectual estão no norte devido ao clime. É uma teoria, zonas temperadas são melhores que sonas quentes.
