I traded my Multistrada V4S same as yours and my Panigale V4S as I wanted the best of both bikes. I also loved my V4S with all the gear so it was a hard decision. My Multistrada was for rides excatky as you described especially on crappy days. The Panigale was for those perfect days for a small ride and the odd track day. I have had my RS for a few weeks now, and it is beyond words! I never imagined it would be this different. It is s totally different feel, a very tight, lighter and powerful Multistrada. If that’s what you want then you won’t be disappointed. But it’s not for every one. If you just want to tour and cruise around then keep your V4S. But if you want something that feels oh so special then the RS is a rare bike that comes along that you can’t make logical sense of it all, but it just works! Forget about the looks it all about the Desmocedici engine in a Multistrada chassis. I think it’s magic. Good luck.

This review gives me great confidence in the decision I've just made. I Just traded my 2021 Multi 950S with 45k on it for a 2021 Multi V4S Sport Full. I bought the 950 new but couldn't justify a new V4S as they just depreciate too much with the amount of K's I stack on them. I've ridden the V4S on many a occasion and love it.
Personally I'd stick with the V4S or go the Rally or even the new GT. Also my reason for the V4S is a pending lap of the big island is on the radar

A pending lap of the big island - there is only one bike for that! Good choice!

I've owned a v4s, a PP, and now a RS. After listening to this I think you should keep the V4s. While there is certainly a difference in the motor / gearing, the RS is certainly faster the biggest difference is the suspension. You wont be floating anywhere on the RS, the suspension is much more performance oriented. In fact the RS is stiffer than my streetfighter :P. The RS in touring set to softest front and rear is WAY stiffer than the sport most set to firmest on your current bike. I guess to wrap it up it all depends on if you want sport touring or SPORT touring 😮

I think you're right, why buy the RS? You have the RS engine on the SF, yet the V4s is quite a beast when you want it to be one, plus you get the luggage option. I spent 6 hours on my V4s yesterday, 3 hours to a chippy with a pub next door👌

if you get that buzz from the regular V4 multi, its going to blow your mind. i went from PP to RS and don't regret it at all.

Great video. 22 Ducati pikes Peak owner here. I absolutely love it. Totally an unsellable bike. Definitely do the Australian tour. That would be cool. Subscribed.

Probably just keep your v4s for higher comfort daily/road trip and potential little bit of off-road since you have other bikes for pure fun. I really miss more aggressive ergos and better front end feel on my pikes peak, and there's never getting away from it's size or weight anyway, especially in tighter stuff. Very nice for longer rides and highway commuting + crap weather with heated seat and grios, just not amazing for fun (speed is decent, but the feel/engagement is lacking), and too big for some tighter roads and for lane filtering around town. It was also very loud for me with bad buffeting with a stock screen, a large calsci screen is quiet, but concerning at high speed, small CNC racing carbon screen isn't too bad, but then i'm back to collecting insects on my faceshield.
Maybe the shifter is better on the RS since the engine is different, I never liked how high effort it is, not the smoothest either.
Dry clutch makes no sense for the kind of bike that it is.
You don't really get more power until you run out of revs on a normal multi, supposedly it somewhat makes up for it with shorter gearing. It should be a more exciting engine to rev out, alas with less torque everywhere.
There is engine braking adjustment which is nice.
The looks are not great, and the logos like "desmo" and "titanium" are obnoxious, as are the red brake calipers. Pikes peak is more better looking, so is rally, so are some other normal multis.
The master cylinder is pretty underwhelming even on pikes peak and RS, it's pretty soft, easy to switch of course with an additional piece for handguard mounting.
Can't have a top box (which is the best thing ever) with the stock RS tail which is annoying, could be retrofitted, but also annoying.
Likely has more vibes through the bars since it doesn't have rubber dampers in the bar mounts/risers.
