This video is relatable. I participate in an Indian dance called Bharatanatyam, and I was doing it for my school talent show. In reality, I believe the style is hard as your knees have to be bent all the time, and you have to jump down and up and spin while remembering the choreo, keeping the beat, and making it look easy. Not only that but the costume is 5 parts and there are more than 10 pieces of jewelry on your head. That school was an all-girls, uniform school and people stared at me when I entered that day wearing all the head jewelry and a full face of makeup. People stared as I walked in, and I had many encounters of people asking me if it was for a religion, some girl even said "Is that part of your Hindu religion?". People were saying this because my dad is full Indian, while my mom is from Texas, but I have pale skin. It was shamed that a "white" girl was doing this, they didn't even know my dad was Indian, because they were just looking at the color of my skin. Not only that but my sister was doing the same thing. She was much tanner, and much better at me at the style of dance, if not for her, they wouldn't have given me a spot because she was better. The announcers went as far as to not say the name of the dance because it was "too hard to pronounce" even though the name was straight forward, and I had explained to them how to say it. After I had explained to enough people I was part Indian, the rumors circulating to me stopped, about a "white girl" disrespecting an Indian dance style. The truth of Bharatanatyam is, anyone can do it. All you have to have is commitment.

Wow Dhar. That was a very inspiring story and blew my mind away. I'm happy that you are going for real-life stories so that people will truly believe that if they continue to follow their passions, they will always be successful. Keep on doing real life stories and let people know to always chase their dreams.
You know, I really relate to this and I’m actually kind of surprised that I do because all the Dhar Mann videos I’ve watched, I’ve never really related to but this one hit me in the heart. Dancing is also my passion and all my life, since I was in elementary, I’ve been saying how I wanted to be a doctor when I grew up and somehow I actually stood with that til now and I’m in highschool. But the thing is, I’m hesitant and I don’t know anymore. Everytime I think about it, I want to be in the dance community… my heart just doesn’t long to be a doctor as much as it does to become a dancer… and the thing is, my Asian parents always bring up how I need to focus on school and get a good job when I grow up and graduate from school and everytime I hear that, it makes my heart sink… they don’t know my feelings deep down, they know how much I love dancing though and they know that I’m a good dancer too but also, they’re not 100% acknowledged on the fact that I “might” want to be a dancer when I grow up but just thinking about, I don’t think they’d handle it well… especially my dad… although he knows how much I enjoy dancing, he’s probably gonna go against the idea, yell at me, and even probably kick me out of the house… it’s not easy but I think I’m going to really think more about how I want my future to be, and talk to them, I don’t really know how I’m going to start my journey of making dancing a career but I’m going to find it and make it work, this video made me realize that I’m not alone💗 I wished this video was in my native language so my parents understood and learned a little lesson… :)) Update: so I have actually talked to my mom about this and she completely supports me:) She thinks I should be able to be whatever it is I want to be in the future and that I enjoy , so yh.
This is totally same as mine. I want to be a dancer while my parents want me to be a doctor. But instead of " especially my dad" i would say especially my sister. Ever since I lost my father and it has been so forced on me that study is the only way to pull you out of the dark middle class side and give you a proper yet sutaible job
@@khushijain9547 I get it, it’s not easy. The pressure and everything. It really is true that a lot of us see that only studying is the life to success and money which is definitely not true. And I’m so sorry about your dad passing
Thank you Dhar Mann for another beautiful and life changing message!!! And im really happy that you make videos about indian people and you don't know how happy that makes me so im really thankfull to you.
I feel like this dad isn’t strict, he was just trying to find out what was best for his daughter. However, they didn’t realise what she really wanted and pushed her too hard. Amazing vid dhar 🤗
Moral of this part of the story: you should always let your child do what they love and never force them to do things they don’t like at all. you should always give your child the best future, but let them embrace the things they love.
So the same guy posted 2 comments, and in each comment the reply's are from the 2 same people, and 1 of those 2 people has the same comment. So I'm going to break the chain🙃
This is so sad that some child/ren have their lives controlled by their parents. It's so disappointing that this is still happening up until today. Hoping that this video would enlighten each parent to support their child/ren's dream in life and give them the freedom in choosing what would they achieve in life. Thanks for this Dhar!!!!
The reason(s) people do not watch these channels?: 1.) They didn`t learn to read nor speak another language, 2.) They find channels like these made up, 3.) They like lies and truth hurts them, 4.) They live careless on earth, because they have another place to move to live: Mars. If they only know that "Mars" = Hell. Think about it: a.) It comes from satan - going to live on Mars is a promise from satan. b.) Mars is know as red planet. That means : FIRE SURROUNDING THEM. Where fire is found? In Hell and in the LAKE OF FIRE. Therefore going to Mars = GOING TO HELL.
I have been one of the most frequent audiences of Dhar Mann. I appreciate the team for their heavy work. Every concept and every tale is worth watching but things are just a bit disorganized in this case. I have witnessed this mother-daughter duo in other videos dressed as Indians where again, the main point of focus is marriage. But tbh, it's not the case, mothers inspire their daughters to grow and glow. It has to be agreed that marriage was the only concern in the old traditional Indian society but not anymore. There are still some rare underdeveloped sites where such intellect is prevailing but describing the entire India with such a concept is not impressive. Why would an Indian mother who is living in the US or abroad have such a mentality? Indian women are well equipped with everything. They know how to manage stuff very well. This concept doesn't seem entertaining especially when it is being repeated every time. Indian women are inspired by their mothers to work hard and settle for themselves and not for a guy. The ending of most videos makes sense but the content might be a little misleading.
This is based on a true story! Also, I have shown storylines with Indians where they're not pushing marriage. Check this out watch around 11:00: ruclips.net/video/DS8mUARIaRs/видео.html

"i've been chewed up, spit out, and booed off stage" - Eminem But that didn't stop him. He now is the number one top selling rap artist, and even holding a record for most certifications for singles. Lesson of the story: don't give up

this is actually really relatable, even tho I'm only 11 this year and I'm not indian. My mum keeps giving me these talks on how I need to actually DO something in my life (other than study of course), and "suggests" what I should do and I've told her so many times that I don't want to do something I feel like I'm forced to do. I want to do something that makes me happy, and actually WANT to do it. My parents has been taking away so many things from me just so I would focus on stuff more important that they've even took away most of my interests and I'm left with just reading:'( If you're a parent, please let your child do what they love and let them figure themselves out on their own. I sorta get my parents' intentions, but they kinda make me feel so useless I don't even have a real interest and/or hobby anymore
Everyone has there own style of dance movements . But when it comes to your culture and traditions it is different , you show how proud you are of your ancestry . A social life can wait , nothing wrong with doing what you love doing . People should not bully others because they are from a different country , and make fun of them because they use a ancient form of music . I find this music quite pleasing , and isn't crazy like some heavy metal band music is . They did a great job performing 🎭👏👍 !
Wow! Payal must be very strong and so determined. This is a true story I feel that I can suddenly relate to so much. I was always stuck with doing what my parents expect me to do even though I am good at that skill. But I know that in my heart, I’ve always wanted to move abroad and have my own life that I can be me. @@kavyak9700 You're absolutely right, but like I said, if you already warned and told not to do it, but they still refused, let them. Because either way, the results happen only because of what they decide.
Everytime I think about it, I want to be in the dance community… my heart just doesn’t long to be a doctor as much as it does to become a dancer… and the thing is, my Asian parents always bring up how I need to focus on school and get a good job when I grow up and graduate from school and everytime I hear that, it makes my heart sink… they don’t know my feelings deep down, they know how much I love dancing though and they know that I’m a good dancer too but also, they’re not 100% acknowledged on the fact that I “might” want to be a dancer when I grow up but just thinking about, I don’t think they’d handle it well… especially my dad… although he knows how much I enjoy dancing, he’s probably gonna go against the idea, yell at me, and even probably kick me out of the house… it’s not easy but I think I’m going to really think more about how I want my future to be, and talk to them, I don’t really know how I’m going to start my journey of making dancing a career but I’m going to find it and make it work, this video made me realize that I’m not alone💗 I wished this video was in my native language so my parents understood and learned a little lesson… :))
Update: so I have actually talked to my mom about this and she completely supports me:) She thinks I should be able to be whatever it is I want to be in the future and that I enjoy , so yh.
Idgaf
@@khushijain9547 I get it, it’s not easy. The pressure and everything. It really is true that a lot of us see that only studying is the life to success and money which is definitely not true. And I’m so sorry about your dad passing

I’m and Indian and I gotta say, this is truly an authentic episode!
To be fair, that "booing" was all a dream. In reality no one boo'd so the title should be: Indian girl had a bad dream.
No it was something that happened years ago
It was not all about that
@ZayBae333 The videos title used to be called "Indian Daughter gets boo'd on stage" if I can remember.
@@Okpikachu8388 I know but the title is Strict dad controls his daughter too

I really love how determined she is but I still can't stop wheezing at the thumbnail though
Moral of this part of the story: you should always let your child do what they love and never force them to do things they don’t like at all. you should always give your child the best future, but let them embrace the things they love.

The reason(s) people do not watch these channels?:
1.) They didn`t learn to read nor speak another language,
2.) They find channels like these made up,
3.) They like lies and truth hurts them,
4.) They live careless on earth, because they have another place to move to live: Mars.
If they only know that "Mars" = Hell. Think about it:
a.) It comes from satan - going to live on Mars is a promise from satan.
b.) Mars is know as red planet. That means : FIRE SURROUNDING THEM. Where fire is found? In Hell and in the LAKE OF FIRE.
Therefore going to Mars = GOING TO HELL.
@@theharshtruthoutthere bro it isn't like that

"i've been chewed up, spit out, and booed off stage" - Eminem
But that didn't stop him. He now is the number one top selling rap artist, and even holding a record for most certifications for singles.

tbh i hate both NF and Eminem. I don't like rap in general (edit: I don't like music in general, bongo cat for the win)
But you can't put NF on top of Eminem. It's sad to see narrow minded kids like you say "this guy curse, that guy doesn't curse, so that guy better."
NO. I just watched some interviews about the NF dude, and I think it's pretty safe to say that without Eminem, NF wouldn't even be rapping right now.
this is actually really relatable, even tho I'm only 11 this year and I'm not indian.
I'm so sorry. Best luck to you!
